She dropped our cake off for us at the venue, ensuring that it was stored at the right temperature until it was time to put it on display for the guests at the reception. We found her from a wedding show and after tasting her cake, we kept thinking about it and went back for seconds and even thirds. That said it all! In fact, after meeting with Vicki and tasting all of the flavors, we couldn't narrow down our choices. We had 3 flavors of wedding cake and 2 flavors of groom's cake. For only a 90 person wedding reception!!! No regrets. Delicious. I wish I had some right now. The consultation with Vicki was a collaborative effort and just like what I had imagined, she literally took out a sketch pad and before our very eyes drew our wedding cake. It was better than I had pictured. On the wedding day, it was almost perfect. The only negative I would say is that there were a couple elements of the cake that didn't translate exactly as planned. The cake was supposed to have a corset back like my dress but it had buttons instead. Also there were going to be replicated brooches (also from my dress) but instead the ones on the cake were exactly like the ones from her shop and nothing like the ones I was asked to send her. To the guests, no one would know the difference. To me, it wasn't what we had discussed and was a bit disappointing. The taste, however, was still there.

The fondant version is what we got complete with mis-spelling and child like painted on details. After notifying Kelly that we were not happy with the presentation she proceeded to text a bunch of photos of cakes she's done that turned out great, incessantly defending her sub-par work. She blamed the extreme heat for inability to complete as ordered, they tried putting it in the freezer to keep it cold but just too hot out. She said she would have directed us differently as far as type of cake decor if she had known the weather would be so hot- we ordered this cake far in advance and the the heat wave was anticipated days before we arrived. It really just seems like the type of detail we wanted was not something this bakery is capable of doing. We had the cake delivered to the house before we got there which was super convenient. Only got concerned with this after Kelly told us to make sure to lock our doors at night since we were in a "bad" neighborhood. Since the bakery had the code to our doors and she was texting this late at night, this comment was received as threatening and we became concerned for our safety. The customer service and service recovery is something this bakery really needs to work on, we will NEVER be working with them again. Only positives... She did acknowledge that the order looked very rushed and gave us 10% refund. The cake tasted great, but just not worth the money in my opinion.

I am deeply disheartened and honestly ashamed by a business policy requiring all service animals to…read morewear vests. That is not an ADA requirement, and there is no official vest, registration, or certification required for a legitimate service animal in the United States. Under the ADA, businesses cannot require proof of documentation, demand certification papers, or refuse entry simply because a service animal is not vested. A service animal handler also cannot legally be asked to leave unless the animal is out of control or causing a disturbance that the handler does not correct. The only questions staff are permitted to ask are: 1. Is the animal required because of a disability? 2. What work or task has the animal been trained to perform? Policies rooted in misinformation create unnecessary humiliation and barriers for disabled individuals who already face enough challenges in public spaces. Businesses should take the time to properly educate their staff on ADA laws instead of enforcing requirements that simply do not exist.
