The one and only reason I can't award them five stars is that they are somewhat difficult to find and none of their branded signs show unless you're already in the middle of the multi-building complex that covers two blocks. On our way in we met two groups who stopped at the same time to point us to the storefront. Once we arrived, parked and checked in...our experience was fantastic!!! We showed up with a large group and got started right away. There wasn't much instruction given but we figured it out and ended up having a great time! Once you get the hang of it, it's not as hard as it looks. My only wish was for better air circulation as it was a HOT day and our lanes were pretty warm. Also three lanes would have been nice as one of our lanes had five people and we were wishing we could have thrown more. It was fun though and we hope to come throw again! read more

When I first heard about axe throwing, I couldn't wrap my head around it and didn't want to. Fortunately one of my more adventurous friends had a birthday, and I thought this would be a good activity for us. I was not wrong. You must first choose an axe throwing "handle" for your name tag. The gentleman who instructed us had the handle of 2x4. Between the initial instructional video and the guidance provided by 2x4, I did feel comfortable to begin wielding an axe. I even threw a few that earned high points. Though we lost to the team against whom we competed, and I did not earn the coveted title of LUMBERLORD, I felt safe and had a really good time. read more

We weren't so sure walking into our experience but can credit Hunter for making it great. We were a party of 4 that got grouped into another family of 10+ which meant 14+ of us were originally supposed to share 2 lanes while all the others were open. We had determined we would likely just go ahead and leave but thankfully Hunter was willing to give us a separate lane which made the experience fun and worth it. I came here a few weeks ago with a friend of mine who lives in the area and we both had a really great time! This was the first time either of us had gone to an axe throwing location and it was as much fun as you would expect. The nice part is they have an instructor that goes over the safety information and how to properly throw the axe. Then they break up your party into two teams and you play a couple of games which makes it a lot more fun than just throwing an axe for two hours. Also, it is BYOB which is nice if you are looking for a relaxing time while having fun. Unfortunately I don't live in the area otherwise I would most certainly come back and do it again. I would highly recommend anyone coming here if you are even remotely interested in giving axe throwing a try! read more

The only problem I had was at the beginning it was overwhelming because of the amount of people in the small waiting room, but we were quickly greeted by an employee and told our waiting time. read more

Never thought I would go axe-throwing but so glad I did! We used Groupon where the prices were $25 per person. If you don't use Groupon, we were told you can use code LUMBER online which will get you $5 off per ticket (you're welcome :)) It's a lot more fun than you might think -- each session is 90 minutes long - which at first seemed like too much time but by the end felt like not enough, so make sure you're on time! Our host (for lack of a better term) was named Sabrina and she was great. The host sticks with you throughout the whole experience to make sure the rules of the games (yes, there are fun, competitive games involved!) are followed and that safety protocols are met. It's also BYOB which is awesome! My only criticism is that I wish we were able to spend more time throwing on our own -- the games are definitely fun but go by quick. By the time you're done training, practicing etc., there's only about 10 minutes left for free play. Still a great time though! read more

Overall, it was a good time. I purchased the Groupon, and there was an additional fee/taxes for each person (~$5) when booking the reservation. The location was very unique, not what I expected. Wasn't a fancy huge place, more laid back, casual. Nice how you could BYOB though! Depending on your group number, you may be paired with others. There is an amount of time being spent on instructions (for safety reasons obviously), so the time you are there goes by FAST! Would go for at least 2 hours. The games we played were fun and Sabrina was a great guide. Felt safe being there despite people I didn't know throwing axes haha.
