I think I am a difficult patient. I want everything explained to me, I ask a lot of questions some of which come after searching on the internet about my problem. I can be pretty demanding when I think something should be done. I went to see Dr. Clark first because I knew someone who went to him for his knee surgery and liked him and I saw that hands is one of his specialties, appropriate since I injured my wrist (torn ligament and tendinosis). Also, I happened to be able to get in to see him quickly because of someone else's appointment cancellation. So I went to see Dr. Clark and of course I had questions. Although I am not anymore, I told him I used to be an engineer so then he knew that he needed to be more detailed in his explanations and drew some diagrams of what was happening with me. I play the piano at an advanced level and the function of my hands for playing the piano is very important to me. I know doctors have limited time but Dr. Clark did take the time necessary to answer all my questions and explain what I could expect in the healing process, and I found Dr. Clark to be easy to talk with, easy to understand, down to earth and he seemed to really care. I have to admit, after seeing Dr. Clark, I did go see two other orthopedic surgeons recommended by friends for a second and third opinion. After that I was convinced that Dr. Clark was the right choice to handle my issue. My primary care physician originally had me go to an OT and i had no complaints about the therapy, but I asked Dr. Clark who he recommended for hand therapy and went to that person and found who he recommended to be better than who I had been seeing before. We did originally have an appointment scheduled for hand surgery but after therapy with an excellent therapist and with Dr. Clark's guidance, after several months my hand is almost back to 100% (and I think I will get there soon) and we didn't need to do surgery. I recommend Dr. Clark with no hesitation. No, I didn't have surgery, but he was able to guide me on the road to healing and wellness without surgery. Dr. Clark is a superb orthopedic surgeon! I've been his patient for the past year. He performed an operation on my elbow last December and I have had excellent results. I am now able to play golf without pain. I saw him in his office recently for a wrist problem. He listen to me. He then examined me and came to his conclusions with recommendations. I was not able to use my right thumb for anything other than looks (it was super painful to just hold a cup of coffee). At the recommendation of my primary doctor I met with Dr. Clark. At the first consultation Dr. Clark laid my options out to me, plain and simple. I could "try" injections which would only be short term fixes or when the pain grew unbearable (which it did) I could have surgery to permanently fix the issue... I waited 11 months and then opted for the surgery. My hand is so much better now. I had heard Dr. Clark was a great doctor. My first interaction with him was a good one. He was very knowledgeable and informative. He suggested that I get an MRI and arthrogram if my wrist pain didn't go away. Fast forward 2 months and my wrist still hurts. I get the tests done and book a follow up for 9:20 in the morning. I had read in multiple places that he had long wait times but his proximity to my location made that a trade off I was willing to accept. I was told this was his second appointment slot of the day and the wait wouldn't be bad. I was taken back to a room shortly after arriving. After sitting in this room for an hour and five minutes (who is counting) without a single person checking on me I was pretty annoyed. I walked out to the front desk and asked the gal who checked me in if it was normal to wait over an hour in a room waiting. Her response was "oh you haven't been helped yet (while looking at me like I was from outer space)? What is your name?" At that point I figured that this isn't the place for me. I work in healthcare and I understand that it's not always easy to stick to a schedule. From reading reviews and speaking to my patients that have experience with this clinic it's clear to me that this is a problem they continue to have and continue to not address. As of today, 3 days after my visit, I still have not received a simple phone call to apologize. I will be taking my business elsewhere and referring my friends and patients elsewhere as well. read more

Went to the Highline ER with a shattered ankle and foot, and Dr.Clark was the doc on duty. Even though he's a hand specialist, he did the surgery on my ankle, which was busted in a million pieces. He was in the OR for hours and hours, but he saved my leg. I walk as well as before the break. And he followed up with me repeatedly when I had a bad reaction to the anesthetic (which he had nothing to do with, of course. But just goes to show he's a very caring guy.) Very talented. Dr Clark took care of me when I fell and shattered my femur. He did the surgery and I was happy with him, but a couple of years ago I went to see him about pain I was having from the pin that was put in the leg, I was put in a room left there waiting for over an hour, when the Dr came in he said that no one had told him I was there Now my primary Dr just sent me back to Dr Clark again to help with the arthritis I have, again I was put in a room undressed from waist down and sitting on a cold chair with just a paper gown...for over 40 minutes I waited, twice I went and opened the door and ask if they had forgotten me...nobody came to tell me anything or check on me. I finally got dressed and walked out of the clinic. When I told them at the desk that I would not pay for the visit they just looked at me and the answer was that the nurse had put my chart on the door but they didn't know where the Dr was. I feel this is not a way to treat a patient and will never go back to this doctor again read more

Dr. Clark too good care of my mom during our first visit to the office. From there is was a steep degradation of service and just behaving in a non-professional manner by him and by all of his staff. I guess the turn off point was when after waiting for 1 hrs I asked to be seen since I needed to pick up my nephew after the visit. Then they put us in a room and we waited for another 30 min until my mom walked out to ask why are we waiting so long in a cold room. She got punished for her 'impatience' by being administered badly a steroid shot that hit a vein and she bled. After this, she had a very bad episode of high energy followed by a very bad low. The shot didn't do anything for her painful knee. The next day we went for another appointment we were told they are not taking her insurance anymore, obviously because we weren't crazy enough to put up with their disorganized office. I've been asking them to release her records for two months now and they've been lying to us and to the physical therapist through their teeth not wanting to release the record. The first time I called the medical records person chastised me for writing a bad review. Well guess what, I just changed the lovely review I left after the first visit and at their push. Will make sure the same is done to all the reviews the office requested after the first visit and find some more places to brag about their dysfunctional spirit. read more
