We were definitely challenged but in the most affirming and high energy of ways! There is zero judgment or shame, there are body's of ALL types and ages, and they sure book it up. The room was full of people with some space still, but that means it got a little extra hot which was relieved by some open doors. The facility is clean and everyone is so welcoming. We were a little sore the next few days but the good kind. I would love to come back in the future to try other classes - it's nice that there are locations in renton & federal way (opening end of october). Parking is surprisingly fine despite it being located in a popular strip area. Don't be intimidated to come here! They will welcome you at whatever your best is.

My wife & I enjoyed her class and her attention to detail, the class had a unique flow that the both of us enjoyed, Emily not only was in front of the class leading us through the moves but she also moved around and corrected the postures of the students. Also enjoyed going to the BeYoga Burien studio which has lots of character (meaning old) and was honored to be walking around the studio which was watered by the sweat and tears from yogis past! I also take Yoga classes at their newer studio BeYoga-Renton, super clean but like every yoga studio has a few minor things that are being worked on correcting. The instructors are top notch and staff is friendly. Ang is the manager for BeYoga Renton & Josh is the manager for BeYoga Burien, both are excellent instructors, friendly and will make sure that you have a good experience at both studios.....

With the announcement of in-studio classes resuming with above and beyond Phase Two precautions being met, I decided it was time to head back into Aya. With 3 kids and a partner all home all the time, streaming and/or video classes just don't work for me. I was extremely nervous about participating in an indoor, public activity so I reached out to the owner, Carrie. Her response was understanding, caring, and reassuring, so I took the plunge! The studio has always been kept immaculate, even pre-Covid, but Carrie and her husband Steve have gone to great lengths to do everything within their control to keep their instructors and students healthy. Class sizes are limited to far less than the 25% capacity required in phase 2 (only 6 students per class!), they keep doors open (don't worry, the heat works well!) for ventilation, they've brought in new air purifiers, and masks are required for everyone. Of course, it still felt strange coming into an indoor, public space after nearly a year of avoiding this kind of thing, but it is clear that Carrie and Steve understand the importance of distancing, masking, and ventilating to keep folks healthy. As for the yoga itself, Aya is a place that will meet you where you are. Instructors understand pandemic life has taken a toll on our physical activity and there is zero judgement. I am not even close to being in the physical (not to mention mental/spiritual) shape I was in a year ago and I feel cared for as I take the scary step into practicing yoga again.

The teachers are…read morefantastic: warm, welcoming, fun, and knowledgeable; the space is beautiful; and for those that want it, there are workshops and community events too. I have been doing yoga for years at different studios- it's rare for me to find a studio where a lot of the teachers' styles work for me; usually I can only find a few. Here, for some reason, there are many teachers that I like, ones that are gentle, ones that are gentle and tough :) , and ones I learn a lot from. Heart Center trains yoga teachers too. That matters to me even though I am not a yoga teacher because they have a focus on the eight limbs of yoga, how yoga can apply to ones' whole of life, not just exercise. It's not intrusive or anything, but for me it feels good to be around people who are optimistic about life and helping others to heal and make their lives better. The owner, Faith, really has a sense of how to make that happen. The entrance to this studio is in a back alley- don't let that put you off. Inside is a world-class studio. Highly recommended.

The instructors are attentive and bring a level of heart and awareness for what is needed in the moment that I have struggled to find elsewhere. The exterior is deceiving in the heart of White City with an entrance from the alley, my first visit had me trepidatious upon arrival; however, from that first class to this day when I walk through the doors, I am instantly flooded by a sense of serenity that I struggled to find elsewhere. It is a 30 minute drive from my home, but every class is worth it. So many experiences I have at the Heart Center take me back to the beautiful yoga I experienced in India. I highly recommend this place. Everyone who has walked through the doors with me feels the same! Whether it is for yoga, reiki, hypnosis, or other alternative treatments or training, I have found joy and awakening in being a part of this community.
