I…read morewas in San Francisco for a conference and was in a desperate way because of the pain I was experiencing. After arriving in San Francisco and during a visit with a cousin, he suggested that I go for "one more" consultation with a surgeon. Fortunately, Dr. Cobbs had time to see me on April 30, 2013. In short, he took the most amazing care of me. For months and months I had suffered with unrelenting back and leg pain. I had seen many doctors, all of them quite able, but had received so many mixed and conflicting diagnoses and treatment plans that I was truly confused. In some ways, I do not think that the doctors themselves knew how to proceed with my tricky and complicated problem. Well, when I saw Dr. Cobbs he immediately diagnosed my problem (synovial cyst on the spine which was pressing on the nerve root) which was followed by surgery to remove the cyst that day. When I woke up from the surgery the pain was gone. I could have just cartwheeled down the hall of the hospital. Yes, the surgery was successful but that only tells part of the story. Dr. Cobbs' diagnostic skills were superb, his interpersonal skills were outstanding, and his post-operative care was second to none. He recognized that I was a bit nervous to have surgery by someone I had just met but he inspired confidence and explained the problem and surgical procedure in the most gentle and accessible terms. I am now back in Toronto (my home) and cannot fully express my gratitude to Dr. Cobbs and his team. His admin staff were gentle, informative, and helpful. Thank you to the entire team for giving me back my life. If you are looking for an outstanding neurosurgeon with great interpersonal skills then book an appointment with him. You will find a surgeon who truly takes an interest in the personal well-being of his patients. Not only did he do a great job on my craniotomy (no small feat!), he made me feel human and was so compassionate. I cannot recommend him and his team enough! After surgery he explained well what happened and his office answered my questions quickly via MyChart. No one else I'd trust with my actual brain! There are not enough people to answer the phone. Also, TWICE the parking spaces should be designated as handicapped. They are always running out. That's ridiculous when many patients have limited mobility. I don't care if there are sixteen, paint thirty-two! Do you not know your clientele? Jeannine Grinnell and the rest of hospital leadership need to stop running this like a neurology factory farm. Hire more staff so patients are served and it's not an administrative sweatshop. Doctors and patients deserve better than penny-pinching, ruthless austerity. Adequate handicap parking and human beings to answer the phone should not be beyond the hospital's budget.

Whatever their qualifications are to be seen, i'm not sure what else I needed. Hopefully getting seen by someone capable of helping you in the future isn't as difficult as getting into an Ivy League school. As for the quality of their service I can't say, but they could work on communication for sure.

Dr. Rod Oskouian is an absolutely amazing neurosurgeon when you need a true expert to perform a…read moredifficult surgery. I was told by another highly respected spinal surgeon that I could become paralyzed in both arms and not be able to feed myself soon because of the severe narrowing of my cervical spinal canal and I would need to undergo a posterior approach 4 level cervical fusion surgery which is extremely painful and difficult on the patient. He also stated that only a two level fusion could be done from an anterior approach. It took a couple of months to get a second opinion appointment with Dr. Oskouian but very well worth the wait. He did some additional tests and told me he could do a 3 level fusion from an anterior approach and this should help my current symptoms and prevent further deterioration. I decided to have Rod do the surgery and have been extremely happy with the results. I am 4 1/2 months out from surgery and doing amazingly well. A friend saw him a couple of years ago with a much less acute issue & he told her there was a chance it could resolve on it own without surgery and if she eventually did require surgery, she didn't need his skill level. She was very impressed. I am an example of someone who had a major spinal problem and he is the expert I needed!

If I wasn't so devastated I should have challenged the charges to my insurance. Some years later I took an online course from dr murinova that was completely lacking in privacy and focused on trying to make flowers bloom and kittens chase butterflies using biofeedback to cure your migraines. I'm sorry but this was a complete turnoff, finally lessons learned and I have given up of any sort of meaningful treatment from this clinic.

I was finally recommended to go to Dr. Davis and the very first visit, she spent close to 2 hours with me checking out things that no other doctor has checked. She has put me on a medication called Carbidopa/Levodopa which has helped. She let me know that I have 100% Dystonia which no other doctor could figure out. She is also recommending for me to see one of the best Neuro-Surgeons Dr. Ko at UW for a consultation to see if I qualify for DBS (deep brain stimulation) therapy. Dr. Davis has helped me more than any other doctor and now I have hope again that my balance can be restored and not have the constant worry about falling. She is the best!

In long We were hoping to find a more insightful and forthright neurologist to follow my wife's case since her stroke last year. We found him! Unfortunately, he's not actually a stroke neurologist. He was very patient, kind, calm, and thorough with what he could offer. He answered tons of questions and explained where she could expect to go. Until we can arrange a neural implant for her (gotta change insurance during open enrollment this winter), though, her progress will unfortunately be slow. I think she was hoping for a magic bullet, but we're still a few months away from finding that. Thankfully, though, we found a wonderfully compassionate neuro to check in with her at least for now.
