**Avoid this company.** We had a regular pest-control contract with them and scheduled a termite inspection. The tech, **Richard Becerra**, showed up and did the inspection while I stayed inside. When he left, I discovered he had made a huge mess--wood chips and paint chips all over my vehicle, which scratched the finish. Then I went to lock my side gate and found that he had **broken a large, healthy succulent plant**. There were fresh boot prints in the soil and the break was clearly new (green, wet, and obviously just damaged). Nobody else had been back there--it was absolutely him. I called the office immediately, and while a manager came out quickly, he insisted it "couldn't have been Richard" even after I showed him the footprints and damage. Instead of taking responsibility, both he and the branch manager denied everything. It was incredibly unprofessional and dismissive. We canceled our contract on the spot. To make things worse, Richard later contacted me trying to move forward with his **$8,200 termite quote**, even after I told him not to. He then contacted me *again* to tell me he wanted to "pray for me." If he reaches out one more time, I'll be filing a harassment report. **Unprofessional, dishonest, and careless from top to bottom. Be aware of CLARK's door to door salesman's claims. They will claim their products or certified organic and won't kill butterflies and bees the day after they sprayed I found a dead butterfly in my garden next to the house where they sprayed. When I asked to cancel due to the false claims, they said they could talk about using the organic products which the salesman told me were already using and included in what I signed up for, I told them I can not trust them and want to cancel the service. They then told me the will be charging me $200 to cancel. Seems like a scam to me. read more

It's been over 2 years since my last review. I hadn't used Clark Pest Control since mainly due to the pandemic. Otherwise, with the $30/month service I signed up for, they should have been out to my house for a free inspection yearly. I appreciated them initiating the inspection by calling me and asking if I would like them to come by (no-charge). A person arrived and inspected everywhere - inside and outside. When they found traces of termites and some damage we set up another appointment for someone else to come out to spray and repair the damage. Unlike my first experience, this process took two appointments rather than one. Besides how professional (arrived on time, wore slippers over their shoes in the house, wore face mask) and friendly both staff were, the best part was that I didn't have to pay for any of it! $2200 was covered under the $30 plan I had previously signed up for! We use Clark both in San Luis and in Lodi for 6 years now. Both Clark locations have the same high and consistent standards. Every technician has been professional, polite, helpful, knowledgeable, ID tags visible, goes the "extra mile", and I feel safe. I'm writing this review because it just amazes me that Jersain (Santa Maria technician for SLO) is using the duster to clean webbing off the roof eaves and windows of my second story home, off the security cameras, etc and the wrought iron fencing at the front of my home! This is the extra mile training these guys get from Clark for our home to look and be bug free!!! Worth the reasonable monthly fee! read more

We had our house tented for termites 3 years earlier, but asked a Clark rep to check on conditions. They advised that we had "subterranean termites" and claimed that there were many mud tubes on the walls in our crawlspace. We contracted for Clark to the supposed infestation, but insisted that they provide photos of the mud tubes -- our insurance company warned that some firms lie about termite presence to scare owners into purchasing services. Clark agreed to provide the photos. We had to request the photos numerous times before Clark finally sent some that were completely unidentifiable (see attachments). Each photo was about thumbnail size and very blurry. Clark insisted that's the best they could do. We can't *prove* that Clark lied about the presence of active termites under our house, but it is highly suspicious that they were unable to fulfill the agreement for acceptable images. Our neighbor asked us if we'd recommend Clark, and we said that we would not -- they do not appear to be trustworthy, and it cost us about $2,000. read more

Very friendly folks. I initially asked if I could have a quarterly service and the tech told me no, it had to be every two months. I called and spoke to HQ and they said it was fine. Not sure why the disconnect. We have had them out a few times now over this year and the bugs are well under control aside from the random spider or ear wig, but most of the bug issues are so much better now and I'm glad to have the place sprayed. They work well with our dog and have always been nice in person and on the phone. read more

The general consensus of most Orcutt residents, at least in our neighborhood, is that our town is one big ant hill . . . I concur. We had a small ant problem immediately after we moved into our newly constructed home. We were also aware that Black Widows and other nefarious creatures sought refuge in the nooks and crannies of neighborhood homes, so we asked around and settled on Clark. Kudos to our friends who steered us their way . . . Initial treatment rid us of the ants, and in the years since, periods of hot weather, rains, and the detritus of food crumbs that find their way into the house's nooks and crannies have witnessed only a rare return of these pests, thanks to a consistent schedule of treatments. Black widow condominiums? Not in our yard! We even signed up for Clark's lawn service (yup, they fertilize lawns, too), and we always have the greenest and weed-free yard on our street. I was not happy with the service I received from the different men involved in my latest service. I called to check out possible mice in my crawl space. Service manager said I had mice, after over $1200 spent to close up any open areas, I didn't have mice. Service men never actually went under house to see actual signs of mice. When we signed up the girl at the office took my credit card info to run the first payment, well she never did and at first I didn't even pay attention because I only check my cc statement once a month. Anyways, she called a month later when they were going to start running my monthly payments because she didnt have my card number. So then they had to charge me a larger chunk because they never proceeded the first payment. So the guy did our first spray and decob for spiders. He missed several places when decobbing! I Called Clarks pest control to resolve an issue we had on our rental property, one of their reps showed up to our place trying to sell more to us then what we actually wanted. After negotiating what we needed to get done we Over Paid (Mike) to patch a hole behind the stove and behind our water heater. I could've done this work myself for a fraction of what he charged me $400, I was just limited with time do to work and the process of moving and my wife being 8 months pregnant I decided just pay Mike and get the problem resolved. BAD IDEA!!! He patched half of the hole behind the stove, like really what company hires people to do such half ass work and over charge. One thing to over charge and have the work done right but what Mike work looked like was a joke. I wouldn't recommend his services from Clarks pest control. I had Clark Pest Control do a termite inspection because my house was in escrow & I couldn't reach Story who had tented my house 5 years ago. Their inspector said I had termites in the attic & quoted me $2300 to tent it. He also said he found a leak in the attic which was an incidental finding but went into his report. So I finally reached Story & the owner came out & said there was no active infestation-it was the spot they had tented for 5 years ago. But the worst issue was the leak the lender picked up on. I had one roofer quote me $22,000 to reroof even though he couldn't find the reported leak. The next two roofers couldn't find any evidence of a leak either so they certified it. Bottom line-if I had gone with Clark Pest Control it would have cost me over $25,000! Instead the buyers & I spent a lot of useless hours trying to get the ridiculous report undone but in the end spent $0 for unnecessary repairs!! Never again!!! read more

Sorry to say, but seriously: don't waste your time or money with this business. They sell themselves well, however; my experience has been completely disappointing. After being crazy patient and optimistic with Clark Pest, and paying big bucks the whole time. I've experienced weeks long delays due to company vehicles being wrecked, technicians suddenly out for maternity leave and yet, no one is covering their clients?? And the company only confesses to their negligence when I confront them. I understand life and appreciate communication, but this is beyond acceptable business practice. And even with my complaints, I've had very poor follow-thru from the technicians or managers. Sadly absurd, they totally fooled me. I was excited and sure Clark was the right company to solve my gopher, spider, ant etc problems. Months later, I've lost my optimism. I've wasted over a $grand, plus 5 months of valuable time, unneeded aggravation, hope... blah blah But worse yet, the gophers continued to attack so severely in this 5 mo time that my lawn has sunk, my stone patio is cracking and I stepped in one of a million new gopher burrows & twisted my ankle. Xrays and casts and PT and lost time and mobility... Called Clark pest control due to a fire ant invasion in a home I was renting. After the initial spray I'm told that "the ants will continue to come back every few months" and that I needed to buy a monthly plan. He told me it was going to be $200+ dollars for the one spray or I could do the monthly plan for $50/month for the whole house. Not once in 6 months did they spray inside the house and so I finally called to cancel. Was told I couldn't because of the contract. I told them i no longer needed services and wished to terminate but they would not. Instead I cancelled the payment card. Clark then sent me to collections over $150 (for service they didn't provide) when they broke the contract by not doing the whole home sprays. These guys are crooks and there's better pest control in town. I would avoid using them at all costs. read more

I decided to go on a monthly cycle because I have pets and wanted to be vigilant against fleas as well as other bugs. I'm giving 2 stars because like I mentioned I used them for 2 years without a large concern. I noticed one morning that there was cobwebs ALL over my yard. They say they guarantee their work so I called them up to have them review the situation. They had nothing but excuses. They spray outside our home every month for spiders, and yet our yard is still infested with them. Don't see how we can have so many spiders when they are spraying and charging us so often. We have even told them about this recurring issue, with no resolution. I was an inch from madness with puss-filled bites all over my body. Christmas holidays, and just try getting in to see the doctor. Anti-itch cream and sent me packing. Ten weeks later, dermatologist sends me to neurologist, back to dermo, and I'm not sleeping, a wreck. We try to bomb the place ourselves, after dermatologist used the dreaded word "BEDBUG." By now it's New Years and good luck. No bedbugs, but I cleaned and vacuumed for 3 days straight. I called Clark. They were calm. Confident. They became my lifeline to sanity. Flea infestation from hell, resistant, and every time I called they cheerfully returned, setting traps, examining what I collected, and always available, conscientious, taking it one step at a time to keep me healthy, too. The bug population declined. We ended up spraying at least 3 times in a month. I'm afraid to say it's over because it's among the worst experiences I've known. I've been in jungles and dirty countries and nothing like this, ever. Honestly could not have survived without Clark, particularly John, who always came to the phone, always cared about the outcome, and I celebrate this company as my skin returns to normal and I can think about something else, at last.
