However, we popped in for a look see. Boy! Were we surprised! Personally, if I was treated as badly as another reviewer claimed she has been treated, by ANY employee. for ANY reason, I will NOT keep coming back. Period! The cashier greeted us, was enthusiastic about the merchandise being offered, helped me find EXACTLY what I was looking for, and best of all? The prices! For the quality, very reasonable! Totally blown away! The clothing section, while small, was stuff one can wear "back home" . The accessory selection was just as nice. I'm a "jeans and t-shirt" kind of gal, not a "boutiques" type at all. I went in, out of curiosity, expecting to be greeted by an over-made-up, very bored associate, and way overpriced items. This tiny shop is my latest "must visit" little gem! Yes, I found what I was looking for, and it looks PERFEcT with my jeans and t-shirts!

We hit a 40% off sale for Labor Day, so I found some great deals! The rings I purchased were reasonably priced: one small moonstone and sterling silver, the other was a uniquely styled orange agate, garnet and mother of the pearl set in sterling silver. I also found some stud earrings, a precious glass blown hermit crab, and a few gifts. They have lots of mermaid jewelry too! In addition to gems and stone pieces, they also carries costume jewelry, make up bags, jewelry cases, beach accessories, scarves, some Yeti items, and other nautical gifts. I was impressed with their selection of Larimar. I'd love to see them put more items on their FB page for sale and keep their Instagram up to date. They offer shipping! The saleswoman was helpful showing me various baubles, alerting me to the sale items, and answering questions. This is a gem of a place and I'll be absolutely stopping in whenever I'm in the OBX!

I don't usually leave reviews like this, but I feel compelled to share my experience. While…read moreshopping here recently, I witnessed what appeared to be a manager or owner loudly berating a young employee--who looked like a teenager--right in front of customers. It was incredibly uncomfortable and completely inappropriate. Even if there was a mistake or issue to address, there's a respectful and private way to handle that--this was not it. The energy in the store instantly shifted, and it made me want to leave. I believe how a business treats its staff--especially young or new employees--says a lot about its values. I won't be returning, and I sincerely hope the leadership reconsiders how they speak to/treat their team. Friends - Take your business elsewhere! Funny enough my husband wanted to go to The Cotton Gin to shop for Vineyard Vines clothing. I had planned to sit the shopping trip out but next thing I know I'm checking out at Cotton Gin with a new puzzle, bracelet, Christmas ornament, candy and bag. Just when I didn't think I needed anything I managed to find a variety of things at Cotton Gin. As indicated by this anecdote, The Cotton Gin sells a variety of stuff and it's fun to wander through the various rooms of the two level store. Although I most commonly come away with beachy souvenirs it is worth noting that they have high end cotton products like towels, quilts, and such. The Cotton Gin has various locations and the Nags Head store is located at the 14 Mile Post across from the Outer Banks Mall.
