This place has its own energy, especially when they have live music. I do think the food could use some improvements, the salad that comes with most plates is consistently bland. We ordered the beef stew this evening and were offered the brown bread for an upcharge, which we opted for. The bread was not that great, and turned out to be $4 extra for 3 slices of bread. What a great little pub!!! I've been there a few times, and both the service and the food are outstanding!!! The atmosphere is casual and friendly.! I ordered the steak and mushroom pie , and an order of Irish brown bread! Both were delicious , the meat pie was very flavorful, and the mushrooms and gravy were delicious! The order of brown bread reminded me of the bread I got when I visited Ireland! Of course, I had an Irish drink called a "SnakeBite". This is a mixture of Irish hard cider and Irish IPA.! So much to say here! This has been a staple in the community for years. Several years ago the bldg was sold and the business was doomed. The locals and regulars donated and assisted in opening right down the road. I great taste of Ireland for sure. If you want a typical irish dark pub with bland irish food this is for you. The ambiance is fitting as it's typical of an irish pub, and has the vibes you want if you are seeking that out! We got the beef and leak mushroom pasty, as well as the leak pie. The crust on all was crispy flakely and delicious, but unfortunately like all irish food it's super bland and lacks flavor. We recently ordered lunch to go from Claddagh Cottage. My friend suggested it and we thought Irish style food sounded great so we were onboard! I ordered the steak and mushroom pasty with a cup of Irish stew and my boyfriend ordered cottage pie. Patrick took our order over the phone and handed it off when we picked it up. He was very friendly and the food was ready in the timeframe given. The Irish stew was a generous portion for a cup of soup. It was loaded with tender beef, potatoes, and carrots. The broth was a bit on the salty side in my opinion, but I still enjoyed it. The steak and mushroom pasty was awesome! It was packed full of beef and mushrooms and the gravy had a great flavor. The exterior pastry part was flaky and buttery tasting and still was able to hold up well with all of the filling. I'd definitely order this again. My boyfriend enjoyed his cottage pie. That portion seems a bit smaller when compared to the pasty and stew, but it's a dense and filling dish so he was quite satisfied. I snagged a bite of it, but the onion flavor was a bit too strong for my personal preference. I ended up with leftover stew and pasty that I enjoyed for lunch the following day. My friends enjoyed their meals as well. I'd been to the previous location in the past and remember enjoying the atmosphere. I will certainly return to this location to enjoy a pint of Guinness and check out the ambience in the future (and order another pasty of course.) read more

This is a quaint little pub just off of Curry Ford in East Orlando, and I must say that it's quite nice! It has the homey, casual feel that you'd expect from a pub. A great selection of meal items is provided, from a variety of pies to lighter fare that includes sausage rolls and other items. I had the steak and ale pie. It was exactly what you'd want from a savory pie. The crust was cooked to a golden brown perfection and was crusty and flaky, I'm all about the crust when it comes to a pie, and this one was spot on! The filling was also delicious, with a generous portion of tender steak with a great sauce. Even the bread roll came toasty and possibly lightly buttered. It was fantastic! I was particularly impressed with the coleslaw, of all things. In my experience, a place like this will treat this side as a careless afterthought. However, that is not the case here! This restaurant treats its sides with love and care. The coleslaw was prepared with a simple dressing, but it just worked! It fit the feel of the dish being served perfectly. The flavor of the slaw was a nice complement to the pie. This is a great restaurant with tasty food, fair prices and a great ambiance. The service is also great, as our food arrived in short order. It's a very fresh, and well flavored Sheppards Pie. You know what you're getting and it's perfect when that's what you're in the mood for. I don't normally remark much about the staff. But the staff here are always incredibly friendly and accommodating. I haven't had a chance to try many other many items, but if the food I have had is any indication. Finally tried this adorable place out the other day and had a great experience. We even got to see a band set up for a performance later that evening. We met up with some friends and ate yummy foods. We ordered the scotch egg which was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Beware that the mustard they serve with it is spicy (we personally love Coleman's mustard). The tikka masala pasty was good, but I didn't love it. The cottage pie was much better and super filling. I tried the beef pasty and that is a must! The minced beef is where it's at here. A great local bar / restaurant in the SODO / Hourglass District area. We have tried to hit them up a couple of times now, but the parking lot is always crazy busy. We were able to find a spot last week and give this place a go. Once inside it was self seat and we picked to go back by the stage area, as no one was currently playing and we had the munchkin so we tried not to sit right next to other parties. The server came over really quickly and we opted to share the Scotch Egg and the Cottage Pie. They only have a few "typical" Irish dishes, but the unique take on the pasty was a fun idea! The food was super good - really liked the egg. Only ask would be a side of dijon mustard. Cottage Pie came out really hot, so heads up there, you may want to stir it and give it a minute. Super tasty and very filling. Server came by and checked on us several times and was friendly throughout. They do not have a changing station in the bathroom, so heads up parents with littles, that you'll need to find an alternate space for changes. Overall: A Great local bar with solid food options. We were a group of six friends who chose this location on a suggestion of two within our dining party. For the rest of us, it was a first-ever visit, and the reaction of all was, "Oh, this will definitely be a place I return to, and soon!" It impressed in ALL the right ways. The pub opens at noon on Sundays, and we were the first guests to enter after Dan opened the door and welcomed us. The dining room theming is excellent, and fun. Everything is organized and clean, with room to move about freely. It was not at all crowded during the time we were dining, which was perfect, since it gave us time to socialize without worrying about others waiting to be seated. Dan was our server, and he offered excellent advice about any menu questions we had. Nice Irish beer selections. Everyone in our group ordered something different, which gave us a great opportunity to compare notes on all the things we enjoyed about our selections. Dan was serving as the main bartender (dining is also available to be done directly at the bar) yet he was SO attentive to our needs, and made sure we were never in need of anything. The ultimate multi-tasker indeed. I'm normally not a big fan of chutney, and anticipated not having too much of it when it was one of our selected appetizers. Wrong - It was fantastic! Extremely good. The sandwiches, as well as the pasty entrees, offer sizable portions that are certain to fill you. I had the Berliner, and enjoyed every bite. Those who ordered the Irish Stew were raving about it as well. There are two delicious dessert options (carrot cake w/ a special glaze, and also a bread pudding that made everyone smile). Basically this was a simply prefect visit to a location that exceeded the expectations of all. We just returned from a trip from the UK and Ireland, and we absolutely loved the cozy pub atmosphere. We ate dinner almost every night in a pub and often stopped in during lunch our for a pint or a small bite. After getting back home, we realized how much we liked the pubs and wished we had those here. Then we found Claddagh Cottage Irish Pub. It looks legit from the outside, and as you walk inside, it was as if it was in Ireland or anywhere in the UK. The food was excellent. I see other comments about it being bland, but ... that's most all of the food in the UK/Ireland, its just meat, pastry pies, veggies, etc... good comfort food. It's not meant to be fancy. While I like well seasoned things sometimes, this type of food is not meant to be that. We found it was spot on authentic to our experience in Ireland. Everything from the beers on tap, to the menu selection to the actual taste of the food was what we experienced abroad. All the decor was what we saw all over small pubs in the Irish countryside that we visited many of. The people walking in seemed to be either locals or friendly people meeting other people for a pint. What we liked about the noise level was that yes, its a smaller place, and can get noisy, but unlike a bar, it's different. The noise is just people having good conversation, not being loud and drunk as you typically picture these types of places. This mirrors what we saw in Ireland/UK as well. We could have just been in one of the many small villages we drove through and stopped in for a pint and some food. Anyway, Great place. The only thing missing was ordering at the bar and giving your table number LOL. The only bad part about this pub is once you walked out the door and realized you were still in Orlando. We will be going back for sure, and bringing friends to share in the experience that we so loved while traveling. read more
