We went to Claddagh Cottage while visiting Orlando and were not disappointed. We seated ourselves near the live band and were quickly given menus. Great selection of Irish beers, which we ordered a round of. When it was time to order, our only problem was that everything sounded good, so it was hard to choose. I ended up with the steak & mushroom pie and paid the up charge for Irish brown bread. The crust was flaky and delicious and there were huge chunks of beef in the pie. The Irish brown bread was very good and just like the brown bread I had daily when visiting Ireland. Others in my group got the Irish stew, the steak & ale pie, and the cottage pie, and there were no complaints. We then ordered the Guinness chocolate cake for dessert, which was so moist and tasty! Service was friendly and the pub is warm and cozy, but there is also outdoor seating, if that's your jam. I'd definitely go again when back in the area! read more

First things first, there are some really tough contenders for my favorite Irish Pub in town and a 3 Star is still dang good in my opinion. Claddagh Cottage has some of the richest and most flavorful stews in town, if not the best. I've visited several times now and I just never really feel like I'm terribly welcome, and that's probably just because we've always been on busy nights and I'm most likely not getting the folks there on their best days. The pub is well furnished, has darts to be played and Magners on draft. You don't need a whole lot more but they still go further and often have a great set of musicians playing live to help really bring the atmosphere together. I wouldn't go expecting to feel terribly invited, but you WILL leave happy with the food. Try the chips and chutney, they're super tasty! read more

The food just isn't very good. A full-on Irish pub-style restaurant. Lots of 'back home' bric-a-brac on the walls. More than a dozen different of our favorite beers on tap. A menu offering most of what an Irish or English pub offers. Musicians sitting in a circle playing Old English music. Are we back in Galway or Belfast, or Nottingham or Bristol? No. We're still in the US in a fake Irish pub with our favorite foods from Mum's home country on the menu prepared by a US chef. A chef whose ambition to recreate Old Blighty falls very short. The Scotch egg that wasn't. The sausage rolls that looked terrific with no flavor. The steak and mushroom pie that was heavy on gravy but missing the protein. You should come here. The food and alcohol are great and so is the service. The alcohol they serve pairs really well with their potato leek soup which also comes with fantastic bread. Since it was my first time, I was wondering if their soup was small but it really isn't. it's a decent amount for a reasonable price since the soup is large enough to be an entree with the bread included. The extra stout was also great. I'm usually a one and done kind of guy who doesn't drink a lot but that stout paired really well with the food and went down very smoothly. The servers were attentive and came around regularly asking if I needed anything and were very polite. The bar itself is smaller but also has a cozy feeling that is great for casual conversation since there aren't too many tvs that would drown out your voice. I plan on coming back. read more

We ordered the beef stew this evening and were offered the brown bread for an upcharge, which we opted for. The bread was not that great, and turned out to be $4 extra for 3 slices of bread. I ordered the steak and mushroom pie , and an order of Irish brown bread! Both were delicious , the meat pie was very flavorful, and the mushrooms and gravy were delicious! The order of brown bread reminded me of the bread I got when I visited Ireland! Of course, I had an Irish drink called a "SnakeBite". This is a mixture of Irish hard cider and Irish IPA.! Again that brought me back to my trip to Ireland! There was live entertainment , which was an acoustic band playing Irish folk songs as well as more contemporary pieces! I remember coming once maybe 7 or 8 years ago with a buddy and literally never forgot the experience. It was cozy and friendly, with perfectly poured Guinness and amazing Shepherds pie. Recently moved to Orlando area. Was looking for an Irish Pub and they delivered. Food was awesome and bartenders were extremely friendly. The staff were all friendly, ensuring that you get your fill whether just from the drink offerings or from the kitchen. The menu was rather varied, even offering items like Tikki masala which educated me that this dish is actually UK in origin - I never knew! The food is quite filling, I went with the chicken leek pastry which had a wonderful crust and very flavorful taste. So much to say here! This has been a staple in the community for years. Several years ago the bldg was sold and the business was doomed. The locals and regulars donated and assisted in opening right down the road. I great taste of Ireland for sure. We recently ordered lunch to go from Claddagh Cottage. My friend suggested it and we thought Irish style food sounded great so we were onboard! I ordered the steak and mushroom pasty with a cup of Irish stew and my boyfriend ordered cottage pie. Patrick took our order over the phone and handed it off when we picked it up. He was very friendly and the food was ready in the timeframe given. The Irish stew was a generous portion for a cup of soup. It was loaded with tender beef, potatoes, and carrots. The broth was a bit on the salty side in my opinion, but I still enjoyed it. The steak and mushroom pasty was awesome! It was packed full of beef and mushrooms and the gravy had a great flavor. The exterior pastry part was flaky and buttery tasting and still was able to hold up well with all of the filling. I'd definitely order this again. My boyfriend enjoyed his cottage pie. That portion seems a bit smaller when compared to the pasty and stew, but it's a dense and filling dish so he was quite satisfied. I snagged a bite of it, but the onion flavor was a bit too strong for my personal preference. I ended up with leftover stew and pasty that I enjoyed for lunch the following day. My friends enjoyed their meals as well. I'd been to the previous location in the past and remember enjoying the atmosphere. I will certainly return to this location to enjoy a pint of Guinness and check out the ambience in the future (and order another pasty of course.) read more

This is a quaint little pub just off of Curry Ford in East Orlando, and I must say that it's quite nice! It has the homey, casual feel that you'd expect from a pub. A great selection of meal items is provided, from a variety of pies to lighter fare that includes sausage rolls and other items. I had the steak and ale pie. It was exactly what you'd want from a savory pie. The crust was cooked to a golden brown perfection and was crusty and flaky, I'm all about the crust when it comes to a pie, and this one was spot on! The filling was also delicious, with a generous portion of tender steak with a great sauce. Even the bread roll came toasty and possibly lightly buttered. It was fantastic! I was particularly impressed with the coleslaw, of all things. In my experience, a place like this will treat this side as a careless afterthought. However, that is not the case here! This restaurant treats its sides with love and care. The coleslaw was prepared with a simple dressing, but it just worked! It fit the feel of the dish being served perfectly. The flavor of the slaw was a nice complement to the pie. This is a great restaurant with tasty food, fair prices and a great ambiance. The service is also great, as our food arrived in short order. Delicious food and a tall Guinness to boot (imperial pints as God intended). Be warned, the horseradish on the corned beef sandwich will clear your sinuses somethin' fierce! Finally tried this adorable place out the other day and had a great experience. We even got to see a band set up for a performance later that evening. We met up with some friends and ate yummy foods. We ordered the scotch egg which was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Beware that the mustard they serve with it is spicy (we personally love Coleman's mustard). The tikka masala pasty was good, but I didn't love it. The cottage pie was much better and super filling. I tried the beef pasty and that is a must! The minced beef is where it's at here. A great local bar / restaurant in the SODO / Hourglass District area. We have tried to hit them up a couple of times now, but the parking lot is always crazy busy. We were able to find a spot last week and give this place a go. Once inside it was self seat and we picked to go back by the stage area, as no one was currently playing and we had the munchkin so we tried not to sit right next to other parties. The server came over really quickly and we opted to share the Scotch Egg and the Cottage Pie. They only have a few "typical" Irish dishes, but the unique take on the pasty was a fun idea! The food was super good - really liked the egg. Only ask would be a side of dijon mustard. Cottage Pie came out really hot, so heads up there, you may want to stir it and give it a minute. Super tasty and very filling. Server came by and checked on us several times and was friendly throughout. They do not have a changing station in the bathroom, so heads up parents with littles, that you'll need to find an alternate space for changes. Overall: A Great local bar with solid food options. We were a group of six friends who chose this location on a suggestion of two within our dining party. For the rest of us, it was a first-ever visit, and the reaction of all was, "Oh, this will definitely be a place I return to, and soon!" It impressed in ALL the right ways. The pub opens at noon on Sundays, and we were the first guests to enter after Dan opened the door and welcomed us. The dining room theming is excellent, and fun. Everything is organized and clean, with room to move about freely. It was not at all crowded during the time we were dining, which was perfect, since it gave us time to socialize without worrying about others waiting to be seated. Dan was our server, and he offered excellent advice about any menu questions we had. Nice Irish beer selections. Everyone in our group ordered something different, which gave us a great opportunity to compare notes on all the things we enjoyed about our selections. Dan was serving as the main bartender (dining is also available to be done directly at the bar) yet he was SO attentive to our needs, and made sure we were never in need of anything. The ultimate multi-tasker indeed. I'm normally not a big fan of chutney, and anticipated not having too much of it when it was one of our selected appetizers. Wrong - It was fantastic! Extremely good. The sandwiches, as well as the pasty entrees, offer sizable portions that are certain to fill you. I had the Berliner, and enjoyed every bite. Those who ordered the Irish Stew were raving about it as well. There are two delicious dessert options (carrot cake w/ a special glaze, and also a bread pudding that made everyone smile). Basically this was a simply prefect visit to a location that exceeded the expectations of all.
