I had a Kohler faucet in my shower that really leaked. Ben and Mason came out, figured out the issue, and suggested I contact Kohler to get the part because it should be under warranty. We did so, but Kohler sent the wrong part (not the part that Ben said we needed), which Ben discovered when he came out the second time to fix the faucet. So, we went back to Kohler, convinced them that Ben knew which part was needed. They apologized and promptly sent it, and Ben (and Mason) came out a third time -- it was the right part, and Ben promptly fixed the shower faucet. Big kudos to Ben, for his expertise, kindness, and patience, and to Mason for being his great helper. read more

CK has been doing my backflow testing for almost 10 years, and are typically quick and efficient. However, with the hard freeze this year, I learned the hard way what happens when you have a cracked backflow and your cutoff valve hasn't been properly maintained. In fact the cover had a root growing over it which I had to cut away to access the valve and stop the deluge of water. CK was unwilling to give me any grace on the price of a replacement backflow preventer despite servicing us for 10 years and having just replaced the backflow in 2018. read more

These guys really helped me out. I blew out my disposal after it got glass in there. After I purchased the disposal myself, they came out to install it for me. The price was in-line with what I think is market value. However with that you get amazing service. When I called I asked how early that could show up. They said it would be 3-4 days, then after asking if it could sooner, they gave me a one day estimate. About an hour later they told me they could have somebody out the same day. Ray and Mike, my technicians, came out on short notice, completed the job in a timely manner, and I paid no more than the price estimate. Next day there is a leak where the drain from the dishwasher connects to the disposal. In my opinion I think that is pretty easy to miss, so I called them, and again, Ray and Mike came the same day I called. They told me it wasn't a problem, they fixed the issue even though the pipe I had was in rough shape before they installed the disposal, and they did it at no extra cost. I bought a house in June 2020. Since then I've had CK Plumbing do the following. 1. Install a garbage disposal on a sink that didn't have one before 2. Clear my main sewer line 3. Replace my main sewer line once it was discovered that it had several issues that caused the clogs. 4. They came on time and helped me fix the common problem here in NC. With a water heater in the attic, exposed to high temps and sometimes mediocre air movement, our water heater was mis-behaving. The pilot light would go out on hotter days, and the temp regulator/gas valve was failing. I installed a new thermocouple to fix the pilot light issue and these folks replaced my water heater's gas valve. I can get some more years out of this 6 year old 80 gallon water heater! read more

I can't speak to the quality of their work, but I called CK Plumbing for an assessment on my water pressure and was very pleased with the experience. They only charged me $45 for about an hour's worth of inspection, pressure readings, a walk around the building, etc. It was a thorough look for cheap that provided me what I needed to go to my HOA. I appreciated the honesty about what they thought they could do, quite literally turning down business they didn't think would be worthwhile for me. I hired CK Plumbing to fix an issue with my sump pump. Their technician was professional and courteous. The issue I have with them is two fold. First, I was charged approximately $600.00 to replace a float switch for the sump pump. This item generally cost between $20-$50. The job took approximately 1 1/2 hours. After paying the bill, I looked up the average cost of this type of work. The general estimates run between $100-$150. I then reached out to CK to discuss why was I charged so much. I was told their service manager would have to get back with me. When I didn't hear back, I contacted them again. Still no contact from service manager. I repeated contacted them, a total of 6 times over a 3+ week time period before I finally heard back from their service manager. He said it is a line item charge and the charge is what it is. I informed him of what information I found out regarding the cost of the item and the expected cost of the work. I told him that what I was charged was extremely he high. He said their charges are what their charges are. I told him that I think this is outrageous. I generally only provide positive reviews and very seldom negative ones. This is an exception. I would have scored it lower, however, the technician who actually did the work was their only saving grace. read more

We had used CK's in 2016 when our water heater needed replaced and they did a wonderful job. Here we are in 2022 and over the weekend we sprung a toilet leak in our downstairs bathroom and didn't realize it until morning. The shut off valve wouldn't even stop the water from flowing. A leaking water heater just as the temperature drops. Cold showers are great in the summer, but not so much on a fall or winter morning when the temperature outside is anything below forty. I dodged a bullet. My water heater was leaking. I thought it just needed cleaning so I called CK's with a special coupon where they offered a water heater flush and a general check of the plumbing. I should have known it wouldn't be so simple. In fact, I knew the water heater was old and nearing the end of its useful life, so I wasn't surprised when I got the bad news. Still, I was hoping to squeak by for a while; but when I weighed the possible timing of not having hot water, there was no real decision. Chris at CK's quoted a more than reasonable price and we agreed on a scheduled time. During the entire process of checking out the plumbing on the initial check, he was polite, straightforward, and cleaned up as he went from task to task. Along the way he noted things to be replaced immediately, others that could wait, and still other things that were fine. The only negative was actually having him show up during the time we agreed for the water heater replacement. His earlier scheduled jobs ran over, and only after I called him, did he call back and give me an ETA. I appreciate the fact he's the owner and the repairman all in one, and stuff happens that can throw a schedule off; but as I have to schedule around my job for things like this, I do expect some simple courtesy. And when he forgot some of the parts for a couple of smaller repairs and had to come back again a couple of days later, well . . . .let's just say I understand . . . but it didn't thrill me. He did apologize for that, though. Sincerely, even. Still, CKs did a great job overall, and I'd likely call them again even as hope I won't need to. read more

Our water heater went on the fritz and the crawl space was wet. We were fortunate to get in touch with Nick the Friday before Memorial Day. Guy came out looked at my Well and pump. Sent a quote I accepted. 7 weeks later he said the parts came in. He arrived to do work only to say he got the wrong pump and then claims I have no water in the well and to call a well driller. I got another plumbing company who says they can do what I need,I have water and that cks isn't licensed to even touch a well. They will do the work next week at a lower price. Sure enough I looked up prices of toilets and I could of bought 2 brand new ones for what I spent. They charged $195 just to show up at my house, during regular business hours on a week day!! That is at least 25-30% higher than their competition. I spoke with someone early morning on Wednesday and they said they'd try and fit me in that day but if not they'd send someone Thursday.
