Ummmm. I apologize if feedback is disrespectful. . I've had my lashes done many times in California and this area and I don't know where this lash girl got her many years of experience but the first suggestion I would give is please don't glue my eyes shut and priming the lashes first might b helpful just like you would before applying anything you want to stick . When I arrived, the check in process was clean and easy, and I was greeted warmly. I only had to wait a few minutes in the waiting room before Marisa was ready for my massage. Marisa immediately asked if I was allergic to any scents and/or body products, which I truly appreciated. She then asked if I had any specific concerns or areas I wanted her to focus on. When I told her about my TMJ flare up, she was very responsive. My massage was amazing! She was truly knowledgeable, open to feedback, and made me feel relaxed. After my massage, I went on to my facial. This was my first time ever receiving a facial, so I was super excited for Kaylea to work her magic. However, it turned out to be a rather disappointing experience. First of all, the walls were so thin I could hear every conversation had throughout the building, which made it very hard to relax. Secondly, I thought a steamer would be used, but warm towels were used instead. When she asked me what type of face mask I wanted, I wasn't sure of my choices. The only choice she gave me was the hydrating mask, so that's the one I ended up going with due to my lack of knowledge. While the mask was on, she was on her phone right behind me. It was super awkward... I definitely wish they would leave the room while the mask is setting! My skin felt great afterward, but the entire experience was uncomfortable, and it was so hard to relax! Overall, I probably wouldn't return to Element Day Spa. I don't treat myself often, so I rather pick a spa that really is more relaxing.

I wanted a deep tissue massage but was told I had to do Swedish for my first visit. It was barely any pressure and I left feeling like I didn't really have a massage. The half for back and neck deknotter was a little better but I still listened to comments from the massage therapist about how weird my spine was shaped. Finally, the manicure was okay, but the polish chipped in less than one day--for a gel manicure. I also was surprised that I couldn't use the gift card for tip either. The spa is in a renovated Victorian home and the vibe was actually better than I thought. I still won't be going back after 3 mediocre at best experiences.

So they have piled up for a while and finally, after discussing with a friend, it was recommended I do a facial. The spa is calm, welcoming, with soft music and hot beverages when you walk in. They take your coat and lead you upstairs to a room with a warm table. They do a skin evaluation, check for allergies, then begin the process. I was so relaxed! It was a great experience and I'm excited to go back. My skin is really soft which is a treat in this polar vortex. The only thing to be wary of is the steps- not sure if they have an elevator inside or not, but they're otherwise steep farmhouse steps.

I hate to leave this review as my initial contact with Salon Le Mae was such a positive one, but…read morealas.... I was relatively new to the area and needed a new stylist, ASAP. After reviewing some options online and making a few phone calls, I quickly settled on Salon La Mae. The reason? I was so impressed with the brief yet thorough consultation I had with the lovely young woman who answered the phone. She asked what I was looking to achieve and quickly recommended the salon owner for my first visit. She even went so far as to give me the owner's private number so I could forward her pics of what my current style looked like and what style I was aiming for. I was told this would better prepare for my initial visit. Nice, right? And I must say, my initial visit was quite good. It was right after COVID re-opening, so many safety protocols were in place. I especially liked how they provided me with a disposable mask so that bleach wouldn't ruin mine. Jamie was very thorough with my consultation and processed my color beautifully. She struggled a bit with my balayage, and I left with more of a highlighted look rather than an ombre appearance, but it was still quite nice. She also struggled some with the flat iron beach wave I requested as far as styling. But not a big deal whatsoever. My biggest complaint was the noise. It's a chatty place and very loud. I like to relax during my salon visits and it's next to impossible to do at this location. The conversation and language could use a slight 'cleaning up' as well. So, onto the following visits. This is where the pleasant waters started to murky some. I called to schedule a root touch-up and was promptly provided an appointment on a Saturday, which I requested due to my work schedule. The night prior to my appointment, I received a text from Jamie stating that she double booked the following day and needed to reschedule my appointment. The soonest she had open was an evening, the following Tuesday at 6:00. Although it was just a few days away and I try to remain flexible, this was frustrating. After a 9-hour workday, I would have to get approval to leave work 15 minutes early and sit at the salon after being away from home all day. So overall, my second appointment was surrounded in unfortunate circumstances and felt rushed once started. Now to my third and final 'attempt' at making an appointment. I called the salon several times one evening to schedule and could not get through. The only option I had was to leave a voicemail for my stylist who would call me back to schedule an appointment. That call never came. I gave it a few days and decided that I should probably admit defeat and move on to another salon. I did and I'm content. Salon La Mae is a laid-back place and just fine for a quick hairstyle needed by a client with a fairly open schedule. Just not for me.

She stopped and asked several times throughout the cut about my opinion on what she was thinking to do next. Couldn't be happier with the outcome. Thanks, Beth!
