First let me say I wish I can give this place 10 Stars. The first thing that stood out to me was the friendliness of the waitresses. I tried maybe five different entries here or pretty good. I will say I'm not a fan of the coffee but I'll still keep eating here forever every time I'm in town. Do I suggest this please absolutely 10 out of 10. read more

Best breakfast spot I have found so far in the Linwood area. The food is excellent and the service is spot on. The chorizo sausage gravy and the pancakes have a different flare and are very good. Small place, so go early! read more

Great food. Long wait! 10 to be seated, 40 for food. Almost not worth the wait. Help wanted sign in window, maybe that explains it?

I've only had the chance to go here once, but I can confidently say that CJ's is at the top for breakfast places. They have a super unique menu with plenty of options for any taste you have in mind. The cornbread pancakes are unmatched! The staff was friendly and quick with service. Although it is a smaller location and frequently busy, it doesn't feel crowded and instead adds to the restaurant's charm. read more

A local breakfast spot w/ ok food; millennial service that is sub-par (e.g.. clear the dirty dishes, focus on the customer not personal b.s. amongst the servers). Second time this season w/ this experience - as a local I will go to Fitzpatrick's next time! read more

the chef and kitchen team are very great at recognizing the game. waitress seem very out of touch from the latino culture. this is surprising to me but i was able to update her on why there's much success! read more

They're still open during COVID. I believe they're offering outdoor dining and take-out. I was on hold for quite a bit to have my order taken and I'll attribute it to how busy they were when I came to pick up my food. We ordered the Huevos di Castillo and the Veggie Benedict. Both were good. The only downside to ordering take-out (with any restaurant really) is that the food gets soggy in its container. I had my toast on the side instead of under my bennie and it kept it from getting soft and soggy. Before ordering, I looked at the menu online. Next time, I'll order from the specials menu that's only posted onsite - many entrees sounded delicious. This place may be BYOB if I'm not mistaken since I saw some parties seated with bottles of champagne, etc. Lastly, they have a small parking lot but there's also street parking nearby. read more

I enjoyed breakfast the other day with my sister outside on a beautiful winter day. We weren't sure to come back here after horrible service once before but we said everyone has a bad experience and that doesn't mean it will be this time so we went. Service and food were excellent! I wish I remembered the server's name to give her the credit! Awesome! Will be back! Thank you so much! The ricotta pancakes were excellent and the scrapple was cooked perfectly ! read more

We had our vacation last week in Ocean City and the very first place we stopped before even getting there was CJ's. We were in town for 7 days and we ate here 5 times in those days. My wife likes breakfast food, my son hardly eats anything, and I love lunch and dinner food. You can order anything they serve in the morning and my usual is a hamburger or sandwich and fries. This trip I had the boardwalk burger, south Philly burger, Sriracha buffalo chicken sandwich and Roast beef and fries. My wife had an omlett, huevos De Castillo, avacado toast, and another Mexican type breakfast with eggs. It's funny she said her favorite thing was the avacado toast. My son had potatoes and pancakes which he actually finished and that is really saying something. The burgers are very good but the chicken sandwich is better and the roast beef is on par with the best I've ever had. The last night we went for the BBQ. We ordered the sampler and an extra wing and extra cheddar biscuits. The ribs were fall off the bone, the brisket was flavorful and moist and the pulled pork was also moist and very good. I liked the fact they don't use sauce and let the meat speak for itself. The two sides we got were cowboy beans and onion rings. The beans take three days to prepare and after eating them I understand why. The wings were not my favorite but my mother in law enjoyed them. The cheddar biscuits were very good and heavy. We ended up getting a pound of pulled pork and extra cheddar biscuits to bring home. The waitstaff was friendly and helpful with menu choices. We spoke to one of the owners and he told us how much of the products are made inhouse. From the beef, pork, and turkey all the way down to the tortilla chips. The location is great and they do have parking. Be prepared to wait on the weekends or choose an outside table. Thank you to Christian and all the waitstaff and cooks for making our vacation meals great. read more

Four of us were heading down to OCNJ for the weekend from Philly and decided to get lunch before venturing to the boardwalk. We all got different items from their lunch menu and truthfully, we were very underwhelmed. Items we got were the fried chicken BLT, crab cake sandwich, Jimmy's burger, a patty melt, and a papas locas to share. We all agreed that we would rate our sandwiches at 2-3 out of 5. My friend chicken BLT was pounded thinly and fried nicely with crunch but it was so dry. I upgraded to onion rings which were actually decent, but she dropped some while serving me, and while said she'd bring more, she never did. Our waitress never stopped by to ask how the food was or refill our drinks and I didn't get to ask for mayo. The Jimmy burger was juicy, but the brioche roll was tough. Crab cake was actually seasoned well, but a bit tad too salty and fell apart so easily in the sandwich. The papas locas were decent, however, the menu described them as potato skins which they were not. They were just sliced fried potatoes, just thicker than potato chips. It was topped with scrambled eggs, black beans, salsa verde(?), sausage, and avocado. Did we order the wrong items? Honestly, coming from the city, you can call us picky. The food down the shore is just alright. I guess these restaurants don't really need to put in too much effort because people are on vacation and will go out to eat regardless. read more

CJ's really stepped up their game in terms of food specials, decor, cleanliness, and service. They recently remodeled their restaurant in the spring. Prior to that remodel, the restaurant was just an average place that I found to be a little dirty at times (sticky floors with food that no one bothered to pick up, sticky salt and pepper shakers, hand-printed windows) and the service was particularly slow. This complete revamp was a great decision on their part. When I went here for breakfast with my family on a Friday morning, the service was spectacular. The waitress was newly hired and she did a wonderful job accommodating for my family, particularly a family member of mine with special needs. The restaurant seemed very clean. No more stickiness! They also really turned it up a notch with the food and overall presentation. Our food was delicious. The pancakes were some of the best I've ever had. Super spongy and melt in your mouth, and they have a ton of varieties! The new decor is gnarly, with a surfer/beachy feel. Cool little breakfast and lunch spot! read more

To loud and hot. I got a South Phila Benny. The roll was so hard I had to ask for a steak knife to cut it and still couldn't. Hardly any Hollandase sauce and it had spinach on it instead of the broccoli rabe. Not happy with the whole meal. I will not go back. read more

We ordered lunch for takeout which consisted of a cobb salad, burger, corned beef special and turkey club. Everyone enjoyed their meal and since we put everything on the table to share, we all got to taste everything. The turkey club was one of the best I've ever had, which is the reason we keep going back to CJ's when we're visiting OC. read more

Wonderful little restaurant, I got the reuben (my go to order) and it was fantastic. My two friends that I came with got the crabcake bennie and the surfboard bennie (the one with salmon) and they were both very pleased with their orders! Love CJ's!! Their food is always awesome - options are creative & delicious! came here for a quick bite before hitting the road and i was disappointed. i got the gravy and biscuits and it was pretty disgusting. the gravy was tasteless, the sausage tasted old and the biscuits were rock hard even though there was gravy on top of it! the home fries were good except i wouldn't call them home fries, they were fried potato chips. overall, this place had potential to me, great waitstaff and a broad menu but my dish was pretty tasteless and i ended up getting a bagel to go because i needed to eat something. read more

Breakfast never tasted so good. Creativity of menu and wonderful staff make this place perfect.

We were surprised the food was so plain and bland especially after reading all the good reviews. The burger didn't seem to have any seasoning and it was advertised with heinz 57 sauce but I didn't detect any sauce at all. Maybe this is one of those overrated places. read more

I've enjoyCrab Quesadillabed breakfast at CJ's more than 3 times. It was a spectacular each time. In my book CJ's should be in the "breakfast hall of Fame" You owe it to yourself to visit CJ's, meet the friendly staff, enjoy what I believe is the best coffee at the Jersey Shore. Do not overlook the breakfast specials posted on the blackboard. My favorite is "Crazy Potatoes". It is delightful and written in Spanish on the board. Your helpful waiter will point it out, just ask. Have yet tried lunch or dinner at CJ's but will based on their outstanding breakfast. read more

This place has the best breakfast in the area by a landslide. It's not a generic breakfast menu which is awesome but they still have your staple items as well. I've eaten here several times for breakfast and lunch, food and service is always good. The South Philly omelette is one of my breakfast favorites.
