There's quite a few vape shops around, huh? Civil Vapes caught my attention in the past due to its location but haven't been able to take a look until now. First thing I see coming thru the door: "Write us a review on Yelp for 20% off" handwritten on chalkboard sign Blatant violation of Yelp rules/regulation. I must admit, the impression given was most unfavorable. If you have to pay for a good review there must be real problems. *I took photos of the sign and will send to proper Yelper(s). I will currently skip posting here as it may have been done without knowledge of the owner/manager* The other fault I noted was that the employee seemed to not have time to assist me. He was very busy gossiping (lack of a better word) about his "followers" on his social media. Additionally there were words used that really had no place being used at work. Upon being available, this employee proceeded to notice me. I will give him positive points on knowing the selection of juices they carry. Cancelling this out in full was the fact that the one I sampled was a mixed into whatever was before. Couldn't even begin to say what it was. This made me skip buying the coils I needed. read more

This review is based on two visits to the shop within a two week period. The first visit I was in the area and was low on juice so I thought I would come in and check it out. I loved the displays and immediately noticed what a nice selection of products carried and the long wall of e-juice was impressive and contained a good well stocked inventory of choices. I also noticed the large chalk board easel advertising 20% off for writing a Yelp review. I didn't ask about the details because asking and compensating (discount) are against Yelp's content guidelines. https://biz.yelp.com/support/review_solicitation I asked the clerk to see the menu or list of products carried so I could find a few that that I wanted to try. I was told they lost the menu and didn't have anything written to look at. I recognized some of the brands and some were new to me but unfortunately there was not even a list so I had to rely on the staff to help and tried to explain what flavors I liked. He couldn't find or suggest anything and eventually offered something that he thought I would like. I was generally satisfied with my purchase but still felt like if a had a list I could have found something better. On my second visit I brought my wife with because she wanted to try something new and still no menu and were told the iPad with the menu was broken. Same frustrating experience yet we were the only ones in the store and the clerk seemed more interested in his cell phone conversation about his Instagram account and the free samples he was getting. Overall it was a nice shop but the staff is kind of immature and more concerned with the cloud blowing scene and their social media followers than educating, and helping their customers. read more

Civil Vapes is Under New Management it's now called Rock and Roll It. It is totally revamped and remodeled they don't have a pool table anymore and I want to tell you it is an awesome place. AJ and Mason were super friendly and super helpful to me. It is my new go-to vapeshop. You have to try it out it's on Westheimer just passed Fondren. read more

Best vape shop around! Entered today for the first time and was impressed, i went in not knowing exactly what mod i wanted to get but the employee helped me out and showed me the best vape mod for me and then took it a stop up and helped me choose some great flavors but he didnt stop there, he set up the whole mod with the tank he recommended and was so into making sure i walked out with a great deal that had gave me discounts on whatever he could! I am for ever a civil vapes customer! read more

This shop is super neat, I got a completely new setup from start to finish. My mod had given out on me & it was time for a new one. The selection was pretty big for devices, but they had the most juice I've ever seen in one store. I was shocked because I have been to other vape shops, and they usually have your standard brand name juices. But I mean name any flavor and they have it. Because I was a first time customer, I got a deal on my mod and my batteries. And the juices were a TOTALLY fair price. I really really enjoyed it here. My only thing I wish they had, was more of a lounge area for vapers. They had couches, but I think it's cool to meet new people and share tips and tricks. If they could make a separate area for a "lounge" that would be cool. I think they don't do that only because they sell other merchandise besides vapor related products. To back this up, an employee turned the computer around and showed me the list of premade discounts with the first one reading: "10% off with valid reason." ???? When I pointed it out and told her that the deal on their validated Yelp page seemed like a pretty valid reason, I was told that it was not. Another employee then tried to mansplain business and bottom lines to me. ??? Yes, I do understand that a business must make its bottom line, and that means making sure marketing initiatives are in line with that bottom line. It also kind of seemed like the employees didn't understand what the Yelp discount was. I was met with a slew of questions like "but that's on your Yelp account," unable to understand that the offer is displayed on everybody's Yelp. I was told that 1. The owner gets really mad if they allow 10% discounts 2. The owner controls the Yelp page. ???? In my mind, that meant that the owner would know about the Yelp discount, right? But I guess it wasn't communicated to the employees? I'm not sure, but it sounds like not a lot of top-down communication is happening, leaving the customers SOL. I even emailed the owner using the store's business email, and I received no response. It just kind of hurt my head dealing with these folks. And honestly, I only purchased the item because the saleswoman (Lauren) was so nice; it wasn't even the color I wanted which made all of this even more painful. The last thing I want to say is that while the employee tried to explain business principles to wittle ol me, I should have probably explained marketing to him, and detailed that a bad customer experience and a bad review is going to lose a lot more money than the 10% offer I was trying to redeem.

The only reason I'm giving them one star is because you can't give them zero. I went into this smoke shop last night only for them to refuse selling me the hookah hose that I wanted. It was like the person at the register couldn't listen effectively or something. I told him over 5 times which hookah hose I wanted and he still rang me up for the wrong one. After he handed me the one I specifically told him I DID NOT want (which was a measly temporary hookah hose that's disposable), I had to re-explain that was not the one I wanted. And do you know this person had the audacity to ask which one I wanted after he had already been told 5 times? He put his hand on the one I wanted and then still gave me the one he pretty much thought I should have. I promise it was almost like he was on drugs or something. I would never go back to the smoke shop as far as I'm concerned they owe me the money I paid for this object that I don't want. Then the other guy in the store insisted that he could go ahead and ring me up for the one I wanted... Well you should've did that in the first place sir. The store is not well kept in the first place especially considering the area it's in. It's questionable when you first walk in. Smoke Alley is down the street, don't even waste your time with these charlatans.

As a new person to vaping this place was a god send. I wanted to upgrade from the spinner 3 i had to a good sub ohm vaping mod so i could get better flavor and after explaining this the gentleman working there went through several options for me and explained them each to me. He told me the pros and cons of each and helped me to decide which one would best suit my needs, (not the most expensive one i might add). The customer service was out of this world, he literally spent an hour and a half focused on me and my wife explaining everything, letting us sample the juices, and then going as far as to teach me about the rebuildable atomizer i bought and even helping me step by step to build it since it was all new to me. You might be able to save a couple of bucks somewhere else, but you lose that service which is worth far more than the few bucks you might save. I personally can say this is the only place I will buy any components. read more

Civil vapes, the BEST shop in Houston, the staff is excellent, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. They helped me from the very start understanding the basics and got me into more advanced building. Jordan, Kevin, and Sarah are great people and bend over backwards to make sure you leave happy and blowing clouds. From my experience at other shops they just blow hot air and talk over your head with terminology you don't get.. Plus they charge too much. Civil vapes has a great selection of juices and they change it up to keep your selection top of the line. Plus I have never seen them turn customers away or let anyone who wasn't happy have the opportunity to make it right. This is a sure bet for the beginner to the comp level vape enthusiasts. read more

By far the best vape shop in all of Houston. Jordan and his team (Kailey and Sarah) are the most knowledgeable, passionate, and friendly group in town. Unlike other shops in the area who try to push you to buy the products THEY want you to buy, Jordan and the crew a Civil ask what flavors you like, what kind of vaping experience you want, and work hard to make sure you leave with what YOU want. Their selection of mods and juices is 2nd to none. I've never felt rushed to pay and leave and have even made friends with Civil's loyal clientele. Its a fun place to shop and a fun place to hang. This is the best vape shop in Houston, period. The staff is welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, and down to earth. The product selection is extensive, their prices are reasonable and staff helps you find the right vaporizer to suit your needs. There's no hesitation to crack the seal or give fair criticism on a product based upon the customer's individual needs. What sets this shop from the rest is how they treat new vapers. They don't make you feel stupid or out-of-place, and are more than willing to educate newbies on product, which is shockingly rare in my experience. I live an hour away in The Woodlands, but this is definitely my vape shop of choice, and worth the drive. read more

I've been to several vape shops in the area but I was blown away when I found Civil. Jordan is extermely knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. He's helped me many times to find the right Juice and setups. Kevin, is a coil expert, and knows his stuff. Sarah is really friendly and helpful when finding a new juice. Everybody here are shining examples of what customer service should be, and live up to the expectation every time. I'm a loyal 'Civilian' and won't ever look back. These guys are awesome! 5 stars simply isn't enough to rate the service and selection you will find on a daily basis at Civil. I can't say enough about how great my many experiences have been at Civil. Like most Houston vapers in Houston I've been to other shops, but stopped that a long time ago. Civil is my only stop for all my vape needs. Jordan, Sarah, and Kailey have always taken the best care of me, they keep the best inventory and make sure you never leave without having exactly what you want. Great spot to chill with your friends and they have a pool and you can try juices mods and top of the line sub ohm tanks. I've been to several vape shops in Houston, and none have as knowledgeable staff, as much selection of both vapes and juices, and none have a pool table except Civil Vapes. I don't even buy anything most of the time, just come to hang out and vape in peace. Wicked awesome place. If you vape and you haven't been here, DO IT. read more
