I have been taking my fur baby to City Pooch for 5 years, and she always came out looking and smelling like perfection. Today I took my new fur baby in for a lion cut and flea treatment. What she got was butchered and she still has fleas. I found out that the business is under new management/ ownership. That answers my question. It is so sad and disappointing to see this business go to shit. I will not be bringing my fur babies here any longer. This is something that I normally won't do but I have to today. I called up three days ago requesting an appointment for my pet Max and Was told that I would be contacted before the end of the day or perhaps the next with an appointment in the very near future. I also reminded them on how Max's genital area was burned during the last cut ( did not see it until after we came home ) and that I was requesting a discount. The lady acknowledged it as it was written on the record Three days went by and no calls so I called today. The same lady told me that I wasn't called because the entire months of May and June were filled up with appointments and there was nothing available for Max until perhaps some time in July. I expressed my most sincere disappointment and told the lady (miss Joana) that i would write a bad review. Well, here it is. I'm really sorry about the turn of events as we have been very satisfied before. It's a shame. First with Max's problem with his last cut we had to take him to the vet and she prescribe a two week cream treatment plus wearing a cone. The vet stayed that the burns came as a result of cutting in the area too closely with a machine that was too hot or had poor blades. And then lately with the inability to get an appointment after disclosing the information. read more

For the last couple of months, I have been taking my two sweet pups to City Pooch to be groomed and pampered. :) Let's just say...I feel 100% confident leaving my pets with them for a couple of hours. The staff is very friendly every time I call or come in. They are always willing to work with my schedule and get us in as soon as possible. If there is something I need to address (like a broken toe nail or specific grooming desires) they listen,write it down and carefully fulfill my requests. I am always notified via phone as soon as my pups are done and are ready to be picked up. You can't put a price on good service these days! Even so, prices are reasonable! Two years ago, I took my dog for nail grinning and they cut her little vein and made her bleed. This Saturday I decided to give this place a try again and guess what...they cut her nail and made her bleed again. I can't say enough how much I adore City Pooch. I have been a CP fan and regular since the beginning. Ever since they first opened up shop, now years ago, I have brought my cocker and shih tzus to get so fresh and oh so clean. Before CP, I had taken my dogs to other neighborhood groomers and PetSmart, but the value just didn't compete with what City Pooch has to offer. They are always impeccably clean & organized and I love the transparency, literally. You are able to see all your dogs get groomed due to the windows as soon as you walk in. Transparency is always a great thing with the babies, at least I think so. They always start off by setting up your pets in their database, identifying name and breed. They then proceed to ask what type of cut you want for your animal. Don't be afraid to be specific, they want to understand what you want. And I love that they take it upon themselves to take added measures when necessary;.for example, my cat 2 weeks ago had some flea dirt so they used flea shampoo. Upon picking him up, they informed of this and I thanked them. I trust them to take care of my pets every single time and that quality service is seen every visit. And as mentioned, they do cats too! I hate to write a poor review, since I have had great experiences with City Pooch. After the most recent visit I have to say.... sadly I will not be returning. My dog's haircut is horrible. The groomer completely butchered his hair. I am greatly disappointed. I called and they offered to fix it, there's nothing left to fix :( and they offered a discount on the next service. I think a full refund would have been proper at the very least. BE VERY SPECIFIC with your grooming directions. There seems to be a lack for attention to detail. read more

It's not that close to my house (which stinks because Lucy hates the car) but it's the only place I trust to take care of her. I have a mini schnauzer and I live a couple of blocks away, so I decided to give them a try 6 months or so back. For $50.00, Bandit comes out looking amazing. The cut is always great, Bandit always comes out with no nicks and or cuts and he smells great and the cut lasts quite some time. The staff are all friendly and from what I can see, all the groomers are attentive to the pups. Even when they are busy, Bandit has always been bathed and cut in 2 hours. They always call right away to let me know when he is done and have been accommodating if I could not pick him right when he was finished. I simply love City Pooch! I've tried several grooming shops in the area - each one seems great after the first grooming and then goes downhill for each consecutive appointment. I've now brought my Havanese, Marley here a handful of times and I've been extremely pleased with the outcome each time!
