Sometimes they are open, sometimes not, so luck of the hour I guess. Cash only spot, but you can get stuffed on a combo deal for $15, so there's that. Most people order take out, but there are some tables if you want to stay and eat there, but most people just sit at the tables and wait for the takeout which is usually ready in less than 10minutes, so kudos on speed. Quality on the Sesame Chicken Combo order? Heavy on the sauce. Heavy on the batter for the sesame chicken. Broccoli barely existing in the bottom and thoroughly soaked in sauce. Fried pork rice with plenty of flavor, perhaps due to the use of MSG. Egg roll more roll than stuffing. I was surprised to see a guy order up a bunch of hot wings and naked wings with fries because, is this a sleeper hot spot for wings?! I guess so. It's a thin crispy batter unlike the other fried items, and the enthusiasm and selection made me curious to come back to try them when my tummy isn't recovering from the sesame chicken. Overall, it's basic Chinese Takeout, and it's very affordable and very filling, just may or may not get lucky on the open hours. read more

City One Restaurant - Sesame Chicken Combo $12 (cash only) - Chinese Near Me - Manhattan, New York

Not sure why all the poor reviews. Their fried chicken wings are very good. Fried hard and crispy. Order in person or for pickup so they stay crispy. I asked for the general Tso extra spicy and got crab Rangoon which were a good side. I always get hot sauce and drown it. Their hot sauce is very good, especially with the chicken. This place is cash only and you should be tipping. The food is always ready in 5-10 minutes and piping hot. Make sure you try their iced tea! I wish I knew the recipe, I crave it all the time. Now that it's a hot summer day, I stop in twice a week to get a large one. read more

For many years, I lived across the street from this hidden gem -- and took it for granted. The food is always quick, fresh and delicious, and the people are always friendly. After I moved out of NYC, I came to realize how difficult it is to find truly good Chinese food. I've moved back now, and they're as good as I remember. Do yourself a favor and give them a try, if you haven't. You'll certainly become a regular. There are many great items on the menu -- do some exploring. read more

City One Restaurant - a bowl of rice and a container of vegetables - Chinese Near Me - Manhattan, New York

Like there's only one way to eat the fried chicken from this place I recently found out. You got to get a late night order. Then you bring it home and lie in bed. Living the good life isn't about having a lot of money or traveling the world going to fancy places. Living the life is eating City One's hot crispy fried chicken in bed, and having the fried crumb pieces fall where they may. In you just lie there after you devoured an entire bag and bask in the glory of a greasy release from your taste buds down to your stomach. Now that's living the life. It only gets said when you dig into the bag only to find bones left. read more

I recently just moved into the area, to be quite honest there is not much to eat around the area, so this is one of my go to's, I have only tried two things, which include garlic shrimp and chicken wings, both which are great. Only problem is, lady on the phone can be a little rude and in a hurry, but that's like all chinese takeout restaurants in New York. read more

City One Restaurant - Garlic Shrimp with White Rice. - Chinese Near Me - Manhattan, New York

If you really don't know, Chinese food uptown is not that great. You will only find decent spots - at most. For good Chinese food you must go to Chinatown, Flushing or even Staten Island. Pros: This place is the cleanest Chinese restaurant uptown, if not the whole city. Major bonus. This food here is decent. They have a NYC Health Inspection "A rating" which is worthy of trying, and coming back to if the food is ok, which it is. Cons: The food is not really consistent but it's not that bad. Some days are better than others. read more

Returned for takeout, to sample more of the menu. We tried the following 3 items: *Shrimp in Lobster Sauce (w/ pork fried rice) - 2 of 5, the sauce was bland, 6 shrimps *Chicken w/ Garlic Sauce - 1 of 5, not much meat, nondescript sauce *BBQ Spare Ribs - 3 of 5, five pieces in the order average size, good meat. So, not much change from the last review. read more

I went here years. Not the same anymore. You should treat your regulars like family not like strangers. I stopped going because of that.

I ask for chicken wings and French fries and an order of crab sticks. I only get the wings and 4 crab sticks. I called and asked about the fries and the woman yelled that I didn't order fries. I said I didnt speak to her I spoke to a man. So she gives him the phone and he says the same thing. I asked about the price. $12.25 just for that and he said they charged $2.00 extra because of the snow. In addition to my tip that's not worth it. They weren't willing to fix the situation. All about money. Greedy scammers. read more

I call this Chinese place often and everything I call I get exactly what I want. It's gotten a little expensive but the food is good and very fresh. when I call for delivery they never take longer than 20 minutes and I wonder how did they cook the food so fast. read more

I absolutely love their food! My husband brought some home one night & I have food from there at least once a week. The food actually has taste and their beef tastes like beef. I do not want to eat any food from any other Chinese restaurant since eating from them. read more

The food is good. I stick to anything with chicken or vegetables in it since I keep kosher. The atmosphere is just so crunk, and by crunk I mean every kind of crunk you can think of. It's not uncommon to just sit back and witness people fighting or screaming at each other while waiting for food. At first I though it was the most horrifying place to be in, but after a while it feels like I'm just watching YouTube videos in realtime. So depending on my mood I'm either thoroughly enjoying this place or annoyed as hell and want to get out as fast as possible. But over all 3 stars is pretty good for this area. read more

All the things you want in a Chinese restaurant: clean (A-rating), friendly staff, generous portions (well-priced as well), and solid quality food. I've only tried the General Tso's Chicken, as it's always been my favorite, and I really like their offering. Leftovers are unbelievably good cold. They do offer some freebie deals, like a free can of soda with a $10+ order, and they're generous about reminding you about it. Tip: Get the Pork Fried Rice over the Chicken Fried Rice Just two short blocks east of the 145 A/B/C/D. read more

Their food is consistently good. The service is what you would expect from a random Chinese place in Harlem.

The dumplings used to be better. The spare ribs were ok. Delivery took way too long!
