    Drunken Noodles
    Harsh C.

Came here for a quick bite as this place had good lunch options. But the food here was very bland even after requesting for an increase in spice level. I got take out but the service was pretty fast and the location and ambience were pretty good. I got the drunken noodles but they were okay. Unfortunately, the food did disappoint so I don't really recommend going here.

This was a very solid/OK experience? One order of General Tso's chicken combo cost me around 12 dollars. The food was ready in under 10 mins (called while I left my apartment, and it was ready on the way back). Its quick food, not so expensive, and one of the more popular chinese restaurants in the area. But it is not anything special per-say. In many ways, my take out meal seemed to be lacking in flavor. Each bite seemed to be missing something, and I have had many better takeout meals. It just did not seem to be the same as my typical order of General Tso's Chicken, and in many ways was underwhelming. The chicken was warm and nice, but again, just tasted slightly off. The rice could have been cooked a bit better. I could tell by the taste that it was not fully cooked. Its a quick grab-and-go place. The staff was nice and straight-to-business, was in-and-out within seconds. Portions are pretty large, and one combo served two meals for me. There is an upcharge if using credit (which I wished I knew ahead of time).

For this dude, Jade Garden will be an option if my go-to place isn't available and only Chinese delivery will do. They serve up a select number of things really well. But the majority of what I tried (which was a few meals in total) are either some variation of but not quite on par with an American Chinese classic...or simply lacking flavor. If the prices better matched the quality and there was better menu consistency, I'd think about rotating between them and other area options. But when they're charging as much if not a little more than places I like better? Curry Chicken (chose medium spicy): it's a really pretty, healthy dish. I love all the fresh veg, and the chicken is tender. However, this isn't curry chicken. It's a rather good version of turmeric chicken. But there isn't proper curry flavor, it was seriously one note (which a curry is not) and there was hardly any spice (to be fair, I may just have to order it at a higher spice level. But medium spicy should have something going on). To JG's credit, once I reset my mind to think "turmeric chicken", it made for a good lunch. Beef Lo Mein: Beef was decently tender. But, overall, not a lot of flavor, even after I added chili oil I had in the fridge. That helped...but it was a run of the mill dish. Chicken Rice Soup: this they do right. Nice, fragrant broth, and the rice is cooked so it doesn't absorb all the broth if you leave it overnight. Not much chicken, though. Egg Drop Soup: this they do really well. I'd argue better than my favorite spot. Perfect broth consistency, good flavor, and they do not skimp on the egg. Gyoza: same you'd get in the frozen aisle or in that little sushi section in the grocery store. Fried Chicken Nuggets: ya gotta check out the pic I posted. JG isn't serving up classic fried chicken nuggets with rice. It's sweet & sour chicken without the sauce. The plus side of their take on this item is that they give you a lot more than 10 pieces! But if you ordered it to save for the next day (like I did), it's a surprise to see something which isn't going to reheat well since that batter has to be eaten fresh. Or, flat out, if you want that crumb breaded chicken? You're not getting what you ordered. Also, the chicken fried rice had no flavor. I was adding duck sauce and mustard to every bite. Same with the chicken. The batter had no flavor. For me, a solid fried chicken nugget w/fried rice is great without anything added. Chicken with Broccoli: this was solid. Tender chicken. Broccoli a little softer than I like, but still good (and probably perfect for a lot of people who don't want their broccoli with as much bite to it). JG is serving up actual chicken and broccoli (instead of broccoli w/chicken), and that sauce is decent. If they're the best of the available options at some point in the future when I'm jonesin' for Chinese delivery, I'd be satisfied ordering the chicken and broccoli and egg drop soup again. If I wanted a healthy lunch and/or was on an anti-inflammatory kick, I'd be down to order the "Curry" Chicken again in a heart beat. I'd probably order another chicken and rice soup while I'm at it. And I might even give some other dishes a try to see if I can find something else I like. Overall, I definitely hoping others enjoy more than I did, and that if I try again I'll get some pleasant surprises to keep me working through the menu.

Craving for Chinese take out food when I happen to be near the Columbia medical center? Jade Garden seems to be the place to satisfy my rare craving. Quick service and reasonable prices. Lunch special available 7 days a week which is great. It also comes with soup or soda. There are a few tables so you can choose to eat in or just do take out. Pepper steak over rice: we opted for brown rice and the steak was very tender. Either my boyfriend was just super hungry or the food was good or both because he finished the entire order. Singapore chow mei fun: pretty standard and didn't have too much of the curry spice as in some places.

Incredible service! Fast and easy and delicious! Definitely try the sesame seed chicken with fried rice. The egg rolls are phenomenal! Would come again.

The delivery was really quick. We ordered three small dishes and one chicken combo dish, and there was plenty to eat. General Tso's chicken tasted great, however the small dishes (lo mein, vegetables, and the fried rice) were lacking in flavor.

They have good Chinese food here. I often order the shrimp lo mein or shrimp with mixed veggies. They have lunch specials which come with soup or spring rolls, and I always get the hot and sour soup which is delicious. I never order in advance. I just stop in and order, and they usually have my order ready within 10 minutes. I will continue to come here when I crave Chinese food, especially their amazing hot and sour soup.

Best Chinese takeout in Washington Heights. Taste good, clean, and they have enough seats to eat there if you'd like.

Ok. The food is good. But if you're used to "hood" Chinese food this isn't it. Sorta bland. Keep in mind the area. It's aii for the price.

Got off the E train and when we looked for Chinese food, this place popped up with good reviews and it was just a short walk from where we got off the train. My buddies ordered the special lunches and we also got two types of xlb's, beef chow fun, and some fried dumplings. The special lunches come with a little fried rice, cold garlic flavored noodle, choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup, and main side. My buddies all enjoyed their meals. The beef chow fun was also really good and beef was nice and tender. The xiao long baos were excellent and is comparable to any place in California like DTF. Nice and juicy and great with some ginger, soy sauce, and spicy chili. Friendly service and food comes out pretty quickly. Credit card is accepted. Bathroom was also very clean, which is sometimes rare in some Chinese restaurants I have been to. If you're looking for a good Chinese meal, stop here when you're in the Chelsea area.

I missed a call and literally two minutes later the call came through again and the woman yelled at me - "hurry up hurry up, hurry up, hurry up!" said the driver was waiting 10-15 minutes for me, which was simply untrue - I got a call literally two minutes before- just rude. Added a screenshot in case the owner doubles down that it was 15 mins. Guess the first call was from the delivery driver, and the second was from the restaurant itself. ‍ But the really disappointing part is that they didn't pack any soup separate from the noodles! - So my chicken dumpling noodle soup basically had no soup - don't know if they forgot it or if it was absorbed by the noodles but most restaurants at this point know to pack the broth and the noodles separately,- so I ended up having to add some of my own vegetable broth, which totally was not the flavor I was hoping for. So - love the food, but delivery service leaves a lot to be desired - next time I'll try giving instructions to pack the soup separate from the noodles and see if that helps!

Then we got a handful of apps - everyone else swore by all the ones they'd had - but I just tried the Salt & Pepper Shrimp and... sweet baby Jesus, this little plate had a wicked amount of flavor from every angle.  "Aggressively seasoned" might be an understatement.  Wild. Onto the mains and I ventured towards their Spicy Drunken Noodle (my go-to whenever I'm hitting a Thai restaurant on my home turf) and... yeah, you probably guessed it - incredible. Not the biggest portion but they made every single component sing with flavor. With so much going on - of course I needed to indulge with another drink (hey, I wasn't driving!). There were six of us, it came to about $100 a person... welcome to NYC. But we did get a wide selection of plates/food and those two drinks accounted for about $40 of my tab. (And you'll never see such a heavy wine pour at a restaurant... they filled the glass almost to the rim - which was not even something I'd do for myself when I'm home.) Definitely recommended.
