The shape is nowhere close to what I asked for. The length is no where close to what I asked for. The color is no where close. I went a long time without getting acrylic nails thinking I was allergic due to an experience from another nail salon. I came here from a recommendation of a family friend. When I walked in, I was greeted and promptly seated. The entire experience was relaxing and pleasant. From sitting there many walked in that you could tell were regulars just by the interactions between staff, that's always a good sign. Found this place on Yelp and looked at the reviews to determine if I should try their nail services. This is a no nonsense nail joint, they have a huge team that is on standby the minute you walk in. No waiting!!! Love it and I had two girls working on me. I felt like I was back in NYC! I got a pedicure $25 and a shellac manicure which was $22, they advertise it a little different because it said gel tip- $12 but then I guess you add the "actual manicure" on it which was $10 so total $22. So be advised, their pricing is al la carte. I like the fact that both of them worked on me which gave me more time to relax at home instead of being at the nail salon longer. They have a 3 sided binder to choose your "gel/shellac color" it's fun but I wish it was the plastic nail display so you can but the try the color on top of your nail, some salons have this way of showing the colors you can choose from. The ladies took their time massaging the Lotion into my feet and hands! They didn't skip out... they girls took their time and worked it. I found out about City Nails through my dad, who gets his Brazilians done here. Just kidding. They don't do Brazilians, silly. I had a mani/pedi at City Nails and was very pleased with the results. They have their technique down and everything. They don't be tickling or nothing. And now it's been about 2 weeks and my feetsies still look like they just stepped out of a spa. If you are a regular here, you can get a box, which they store with your personal tools (hacksaws, sanders and what have you, depending on the severity of your situation). If you need to book an appointment, ask for Hannah - she is the friendliest nail tech I've ever encountered. Her sister works there as well and is great too - book both of them if you go with someone else; they're hilarious together! City Nails had only 1 review but I decided to stop by especially after I called and they said shellac polish was only $12! That's what I'm talking about!!! Music to my ear dear!! So let me start by saying, that Nancy (who did my pedicure) was awesome and so sweet (Thank you, Nancy)! She paid GREAT attention to detail and even fixed my polish when I accidentally slipped out of my slipper and nicked one of my nails by accident. I didn't even ask her to! She saw it happen, and met me at the nail desk when I moved over with the polish color and top coat! I had a vastly different experience with my manicure. I decided I would pay the extra money and get dip nails. The nail tech that I got was Kelsey. I'm just going to come straight out and say, her attitude was awful! Two of my nails were shaped crooked and one was too pointed, so I asked if she could fix them, she did, but again her attitude was not great. As she was dipping my nails, she did so carelessly, flinging powder everywhere and intentionally clunking down the jars of powder when switching between the base and colored dip powders...a customer walked in the door (we were at the closest desk to the door), and told Kelsey she was there for an appointment, to which she replied, "Ok," like she couldn't care less and just left the customer standing there awkwardly until someone else was able to come and help her. One of my nails was not dipped as many times as the others, and so is the only non-opaque nail. I can see the dip powder grains, and my nail underneath it. The pedicure was worth the money ($30). The dip manicure was not, in my opinion ($50). My sister-in-law came with me, and got a full-set with regular polish on top ($45), the nail tech that did her nails was nice, but did not do a great job. Her nail polish was not too opaque on certain nails and had air bubbles on others. I don't get my nails done that often, but have always had good experiences at other places and left happy. I just walked out of City Nails for the last time. Although they do a good job once you are in the chair, I have been frustrated over and over again with the way they handle appointments. Many times, I made an appointment with a particular technician only to arrive on time and find that person just beginning a service with another client. Rather than switching her with someone else so she could keep my appointment, the owners invariably reassured me that it would be "a few minutes" while she finished the walk-in instead of keeping the appointment. It was usually 30-45 minutes later before my service even began. I tried scheduling the first appointment of the day to avoid this problem. Nope -- on several occasions I have arrived for that time only to find the same problem. Today I had an 8:30 (I asked for 8:15 to further try to preempt the problem but was told 8:30) only to find the technician midway through a service. I object to walkins getting better service than an appointment, but even more I object to the disrespect for my time by lying repeatedly that it would only be "a few minutes" before my service would start. I have never missed or been late for an appointment. I have been friendly and loyal, and I do not appreciate this treatment. They do not have a leg raiser they put your leg up on a bottle and a towel; Really? They also use a cheese grater; Really? I went back but for the last time because they made my nails thin by buffing too much and using that polish that's hard and won't come off by soaking. I will NOT be returning there.
