Combo 2 Fried Rice
Amy K.

Located near north park, this place gets my approval. I ordered from EZ cater for an office order. I needed to feed 16-20 people. Ordered the party combo tray 2 intended to feed 15 people, Buddha's delight for vegetarians, and string green bean with black bean sauce. Combo party 2 is supposed to feed 15, but you can easily feed 20 adding one more dish. It comes with 20 pieces of fried chicken (spicy level 4/10) which were perfectly crispy and tasty, chow mein, fried rice, orange chicken, broccoli beef, mixed vegetables. There was left overs. This is really good value and all 20 of my coworkers loved it!

I've experienced Asian cuisine across the country, and consistency like this is rare. Well worth the visit every time!!

This is the size of container that the hot sour soup was in
Vinny L.

When I walked in to get my food a month ago, I was greeted very friendly and given exactly what I wanted with no problems. Prices had gone up, but I was very OK with that because that's the way it is. But, I ordered food just a couple of days ago and the same size container of the hot sour soup, which is enough for two people was half the size it was no longer the larger container. It was a smaller container for the same price. I felt rushed out of there and was treated very abruptly when I walked in. I understand restaurants are having problems, but if this is how they're going to treat their customers, they're going to have more problems. I've had to adapt by paying double the amount of money for the same thing that I used to get but to give you half the amount of the food and still charge the same that's BS! Looks like I'm going to have to find another Chinese restaurant that's going to be good and accommodate my needs because I'm no longer returning and I'm no longer going to recommend them!

Food is delicious!! The service is great they are so nice and helpful. The restaurant is so clean and bright. I live in Chula Vista and drive all the way to this restaurant because I trust that their GF food is GF!! I have a member in in my home that has celiacs and the GF food here is delicious and clean!!! Never have an issue after eating here. The rest of us without celiacs love the food as well so good!! We ordered GF chow mein with chicken, GF fried rice with chicken and beef and dragon spicy wings. Chow mein so good didn't get a chance to take a pic!!

City Dragon is one of my favorite Chinese take-away spots in San Diego. Their menu is simple and you'll find the staples such as fried rice, lo mein, orange chicken, but you won't find more traditional dishes--and I'm okay with that. Here are my go-to's: - Orange Beef: Tasty, sweet, tangy, and a little spicy. The perfect blend of flavors to satisfy any craving. - Salt and Pepper Tofu: Lightly dusted tofu cubes wok tossed in salt and pepper. I ask for it extra crispy, and they deliver most of the time. - Sweet and Sour Pork: Deliciously balanced and always hits the right spot with plenty of white rice. - BBQ Pork Fried Rice: You can taste the smokiness from the wok, and it never disappoints. - Beef Lo Mein: One of my favorites. Tasty, with that distinct smokiness that keeps me coming back. - Beef Chow Fun: Again, tasty and satisfying every single time. City Dragon is on my weekly meal rotation, usually on the weekends after a late night out, lol. Highly recommend giving it a try if you're in the area and looking for some delicious Chinese takeout. Welp! Onto the next!

I really like their food. Tasty and always fresh. Very friendly service which is always a big plus!

Food was okay. Honestly the meat was questionable it didn't taste like beef or smell like it at all. The meat was sparse also for $18. I promise there was only like 3 pieces of shrimp. Very overpriced for a Chinese takeout spot. The restaurant was clean and the service was okay they looked a little suspicious honestly. The meat left a bloody type of taste in my mouth. I'm skeptical about eating my leftovers. My so. Wouldn't touch the noodles. He didn't like the dry texture or flavor either. I don't recommend this restaurant .

This is the menu update price changed on March 2025.

I am a from…read moreXian and am always on the hunt for Shaanxi food especially paomo and hand pulled Biang Biang noodles. The space inside is casual and straightforward, though it definitely gets packed fast during peak hours because locals know how good the food is. Looking at the spread we got, everything hits the spot. We started with the spicy sliced pork ears, which are super tender with a nice crunch and tossed in a bold chili oil and cilantro mix. For the mains, you come here for the noodles and they honestly never miss. The hand-ripped noodles are incredible--super thick, chewy, and served in massive bowls loaded with tender beef, brisket, or tripe. Whether you get the clear, savory broth or the spicy chili oil version, the portions are huge and the noodles have that perfect fresh-pulled texture.  Service was the real problem and I can't give them too much grace after our experience. They gave us all our food at a snail pace and was still missing one person's entree. After 20-30 minutes of waiting for his food, we asked the waitress to check on it and after going to the kitchen, she came back to tell us they ran out of that dish (beef paomo). At that point the rest of the table had pretty much finished their food as it's been about 45 minutes since we ordered. That was incredibly unprofessional. No apology, no offers to make it right. Just a "what would you like instead, sir". I loved the food but this type of scenario is not acceptable and I likely won't be back.

We ordered garlic string beans, lo mein, honey walnut shrimp & general tso's chicken. Food comes out in the order it is done which can be a little off kilter. In our case, the chicken and shrimp came out first, then the lo mein, and much later, the green beans. All of the food was just okay. Nothing was truly a show stopper. I did not taste any honey or walnuts in the shrimp, just a lot of mayonnaise. The lo mein was the best dish of the night. We took some leftovers home in the cute packaging. The branding here is definitely a strong suit. As we were sitting on the patio, there was a steady stream of customers ordering & picking up takeout. Service was fine. We sat for quite awhile once we were done, and we had to ask for to-go boxes. Then about ten minutes later, our server came by to run our cards. Verdict: FS is cute and bustling. The food is adequate but honestly pretty basic. The prices are quite reasonable. One restroom for the whole place. Paid street parking on Adams Avenue until 8pm & free parking on some side streets. Just check for the parking signs. Peace.

Protip: if you order a noodle soup, they will ask if you want your soup on the side. Don't do it because they barely have me enough soup to cover my noodles and I'm pretty sure if I hadn't gotten it on the side they would have given me more. But I haven't found a Chinese place this homey and authentic in San Diego in a long time. You know it's legit when you show up on a Sunday morning and the place is full of Chinese people. The seafood doesn't seem as fresh as it used to be. The shrimp and squid have such an odd texture now that they're not as enjoyable to eat. The Cornish hen is usually overcooked, fibrous, and dry, which is so disappointing because it used to be my favorite! And the soup! I don't know what happened, but the broth has been so salty that our lips literally go numb and we end up drinking water the rest of the day. Even my 3 year old son said it was too salty and refused to eat it the last time we were there. Parking has always been a mess here too. There's barely any parking, and we usually have to park all the way down the street and walk over. We never really minded before because the food was worth it, but now it's hard to justify when the quality isn't what it used to be. I'm honestly so sad because we've loved Minh Ky for so many years. Afterwards, we thought it was AYCE on the menu of your choice + the side buffet where there are limited selections of sides and refrigerated drinks. We ordered orange chicken, Chinese style fish and something else. Again, this was on the thought that we could order more than one item on our selected menu. So imagine our surprise when the bill was nearly $100 for two people? It was a misunderstanding. However, the initial staff gentlemen was completely rude about it and ignored us as we sought to understand. Finally, a second female server came and heard our concerns regarding the false advertisement and unclear messaging. She was able to provide us the price we thought this was for based on Menu selection. All in all - I don't recommend the AYCE option. I think it would be important to make a distinction that AYCE clearly on the menu and at the front - AYCE means each individual selects ONE entree (which is a one small portion) and the AYCE component of the deal is ONLY for the side buffet.

Not considering it in my rating, but not really sure how I feel about it. As for the food, the dumplings--amazing. We got the scallop shrimp pork ones. The skin is on the thicker side but the texture is so bouncy and the filling is incredibly umami and juicy. One of the best dumplings in San Diego. Each plate comes with 14 of them so it's pretty hefty. They don't really do modifications especially given that all the dumplings are pre-filled, so keep that in mind. As for the other items, they're passable but not as excellent as their dumplings. The beef noodle soup is good, but a little light on beef and veggies. The scallion pancake is super crispy, a little more like croissant and pretty mild green onion flavor. The noodles in the zha jiang mian were a little too al dente. The zha jiang mian comes with bean sprouts, carrots, cucumbers, celery, and ground pork in the black bean sauce. Overall great food for a reasonable price. If in doubt get more dumplings rather than their other dishes; that's what they specialize it and are best at.
