I had an excellent experience at City Arms in Pacifica, especially with Matt. As a newer gun owner, he made me feel safe, welcomed, and respected. He was knowledgeable, patient, and easy to talk to, and I really trusted his recommendations. I've gone back since, bought more guns, brought referrals who also purchased guns, and I'll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend City Arms! read more

As with my earlier postings, I wonder where my previous review for City Arms Pacifica is gone too? Nonetheless, City Arms Pacifica remains an excellent store for firearms, firearms, accessories, knives, and other things. I totally recommend City Arms Pacifica location for your personal protection needs. read more

Prices are the best I have seen in the Bay Area. I've only shopped around for the guns I've purchased but the three I've bought were the best price there. I also buy ammo in bulk and they've got the best prices and clean shooting target ammo. I can't stand buying dirty ammo to run at the range and have my guns take hrs more to clean cause of cheap powder/ fillers. There a bunch of down to earth guy are really helpful. Whatever you need to know they'll tell you straightforward. read more

I was in Utah a few weekends ago on vacation and decided to check out some gun stores in the area to look for a Glock ahead of the CA ban starting July 1. It was a longshot but to my surprise, I was able to find a gun store in Utah with a brand new Glock 19 gen 3! It was crazy because I first called them asking if they had any and they said no then called me back 5 mins later saying that they actually did! The odds of that were really slim to none but I digress. Anywho, I called City Arms on 5/16/2026 to ask if I could do the transfer there and have the Utah dealer ship my CA compliant G19 there and the man that answered the phone told me some complete BS. At first he said glocks are no longer being allowed to ship to CA and no one can get them anymore then I brought up that the ban doesn't start until July 1, 2026 to which he finally told the truth and said that their lawyers advised them not to take any more glocks and that that may or may not change. That didn't sound too patriotic to me. I called City Arms because they are close to my house and convenient but I have never bought any guns from them before and I sure in the hell won't ever after this. I prefer to give my money to patriotic establishments which this one is not. I mean you can't expect much from a gun store in San Mateo County right? read more

Top notch staff great selection good pricing second purchase more to come in the future

Haven't been here since 2016! In the past Dimitry was the one that helped me! Unfortunately he was working at the other location! John that is well informed in firearms help me! He is a retired LEO and was very nice and explained the certain firearms that I was interested in! City arms has quite a good collection of firearms and supplies at imo a very reasonable price! The price I see on the firearms are close to or at msrp! Most other gun stores I have been to, the firearms are sold way above msrp! Also if you are going to purchase a firearm and have to take a firearm safety test, it is free of charge...that was the case for me! The staff were very nice and cordial! Will be back! read more

Fire arm price and FFL fee is way too over priced. You rather go to Peninsula Guns & Tactics. read more

Took the test for my FSC here and the team was extremely friendly and made the process smooth. Not too long afterwards, I purchased my first firearm and again, they were friendly, knowledgable, and answered all the questions I had. I will definitely be coming here for my future purchases going forward! read more

My more experienced friend recommended me to this place to take the fsc test. While I was browsing the shop the employees were very helpful and knowledgeable about everything I needed to know about anything regarding the fsc test itself and handguns. They waived the fee for the test if I bought a handgun that same day which I did. The whole process was smooth and I had the employees as a safety net the entire time. read more

Great service and selection. Friendly staff. California gun laws/rules makes processing cumbersome though.

This is a tough business to be in in CA, which can lead to a lot of interesting dynamics from a consumer perspective. This shop is professional and respectful of its customers, and that's all I need. They've earned another customer. read more

Great knowledgeable staff. Availability and pricing. I'm a repeat customer for many years.

I was in the market for a new handgun and wanted to shop locally, so I went to City Arms to take a look. I was greeted by friendly staff and we checked out some guns. They asked a few qualifying questions to find out what I was after and gave advice/background/tips on the choices. The price and purchase/transfer process was explained in detail. Yeah it's expensive but it's California, I was prepared for that. They had what I wanted but I ended up choosing something else after I got to handle them both. I left the store happy, excited, informed, and confident in my decision to shop where I did and in the gun I picked. I'll update my review once I can go make the pick up! Update 01/14/2025: Super easy pickup experience. Very welcoming and informing staff. Excited to try out my new purchase at the range! read more

I purchased my first firearm from here, G21sf. The process was super easy, the guys there are super helpful and nice. I brought a friend with me, knows nothing about guns, was asking a bunch of questions to the guys behind the counter. I was getting annoyed of his questions but the guy behind the counter was super patient. Shoutout to him Highly recommend this place! read more

Bought my first firearm here and since then have been coming back for more! Wide selections of pews pews! The staff are all very friendly and something that really stood out to me was how patient they are with you. I might've asked a million questions before buying my first Glock and then another when I got my AR15. I don't see myself going anywhere else in the bay for all my 2nd amendment needs! read more

My favorite gun shop in the bay right and never did me wrong. Bought my first gun which was a glock 26 back in 2018 when I just turned 21 and Henry and uncle V game me a good deal on it since the place where I bought my first gun this store holds a special place on my hear. Selection is great here they have everything from Sig spears to mosin nagants. So it's a great place for a guy like me who likes modern and vintage guns. Also unlike alot of other stores in the bay area they don't rip you off here and charge 120 dollars above msrp like a certain store in san bruno. Plus austin and dimitri are great to work with and the other guys here are nice and friendly too. read more

Austin, Eric and Matt are super helpful and friendly. Made me feel welcome to this new town and as a first time gun owner. Lucky me!

Very helpful and informative! I'm a novice and didn't feel intimidated at all. Staff did not talk down to me.

Great staff!!! I've purchased a firearm on more than one occasion here and they've always been very helpful. The last time that I was there I had left my glasses in my car and could've easily gone back to the car to get them, but, the guy (I wish I could remember his name) before filling out the paperwork said, don't worry about it and simply read the questions out loud to me as I filled out the paperwork. I can see perfectly far away and not too bad up close but just the fact that he would take it upon himself to make sure that I saw and understood everything that I was filling out was a thoughtful touch. They have a very nice selection of rifles and handguns, as well as, new and used firearms. I just wished they sold more accessories like holsters, etc. I'd recommend them to anyone be it the newcomer or experienced firearm owner. Great spot! read more

BEwARE, price match call gun stores they will be cheaper, this unethical gun shop wants $1350.00 for a sig p238 That double the cost Went to gun range in Sacramento paid $699.00 for same gun. A certain person who handles transfer papers feels that he is god. Great service, awesome selection. A little pricey but they usually have what you need. Staff is very friendly. Never feel like they try to upsell. They also have a great selection of quality knives! If you are a 2nd Amendment type of person, this place has it all! read more

The staff is great here, I've been to quite a few gun shops in the Bay Area this is by far the best one with the best prices. Purchasing a firearm here is a breeze, they finish up your paperwork so fast you're in and out of there in no time. Other places I've purchased firearms from have taken as long as 1.5 hours. read more

The most important for me is customer service. They take the time to explain and give you the pros or cons of the firearm you looking at. They don't try to influence your choice for the most expensive one. They give you honest feedbacks and the real characteristics of the product and they let you decide based on your taste, need and budget. If you had a negative experience somewhere else. Go to City Arms - 90 Eureka Sq, Unit D, Pacifica, CA 94044, they will treat you like a friend. All staff are very knowledgeable and courteous. read more

Called looking for Mp5 22LR. Someone on the phone stated they had one left. I asked how I can secure it. Male said to give him my credit card number and it will then be all mine. I asked how much and he stated he couldnt tell me because they do not give quotes over the phone. I responded even though I give you my credit card number your not going to tell me how much you are charging me?! He said no. No quotes over the phone. Oddest, unethical , unprofessional business practice. How do you just charge someone without saying the price . Obviously I declined and will it support their business with a "give me your credit card number and I will surprise you with the bill after." Pshhh... read more

Waited for several hours do to covid crazieness. Was there to purchase with a friend and my girlfriend. After her waiting for two hours when we got to the front of the line they skipped several times us because of store capacity(3) and then since she wasn't sure she was going to buy a firearm the owner told her to leave. Then he proceeded to grab my arm and move me out of the way. Unfortunately, they had what I needed at this difficult time and so I made a significant purchase rather then waste the time. The second time I returned to pick up my purchase the staff proceeded to insult me over taking the situation seriously. While John at the door and half the staff there are friendly and knowledgeable, the owner and his underlings are a dark spot on the other very nice people there. I will not be returning to shop there and I suggest you bring your business elsewhere. I know it's hard to find available ammo(spoiler alert unless you're buying a Firearm they won't sell you ammo anyway) and firearms but finding a good shop that isn't insulting and demeaning to customers and potential buyers is more important. read more

Workers are knowledgeable and friendly. Best prices on ammo I've been able to find around the Bay Area.

Love this shop. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I have made a number of purchases from this shop. Highly recommend.

Recently purchased a shotgun there. Staff goes above and beyond! When I went to pick it up they showed me how to break it down put it back together and told me if I ever needed anything or have any questions about the purchase or anything else in their store to stop by and they'd be glad to help!!! City Arms is really hit and miss when it comes to their customer service. In the same trip I was treated both extremely poorly by one employee (the doorman) and very respectfully (the employee who escorted me through the store) *thanks Covid* The doorman was dripping with sarcasm when I told him I wanted to just browse real quick after signing the Gov. Newsom recall petition. He leaned into the store and shouted to the shop manager something about how I was just a "window shopper" Like I'm sorry 'comrade', but I've spent about $2000 buying multiple guns from your stores the past, whether you know that or not, you should never treat ANY customer with such disrespect, especially when I am literally standing 10 feet in front of you at the entrance. I personally feel like I am treated way better at Peninsula Guns in San Bruno. That's my .02 read more

SUPER WELCOMING AND INFORMATIVE!! Spoke to a gentleman names Matt and was really helpful. He showed me plenty of variations of what I was looking for and wasn't pushy. I will never go back there, ever again! The guy with the Russian accent is an idiot! I told him I need a handgun. He said they are only selling ammo for customers buying guns. I have been buying firearms from City Arms in Pacifica since they opened approximately 15 years ago, and not once had a negative experience. For those reading negative reviews, keep in mind that world events, such as COVID-19, often trigger unprecedented firearm and ammunition purchasing, which puts undue pressure on businesses such as City Arms. They subsequently need to deal with more customers than usual, and at the same time need to deal with a dwindling supply due to the increased demand by law-abiding people. They are good people, so I encourage patience during such times. I encourage the same for any business. My latest purchase from them is a Smith & Wesson Model 41, which I plan to pick up during the coming week. read more

They price gouge hard. There are signs saying "no cell phone use" which is to prevent you from learning the truth. I'm choosing not to comment on their ownership or one specific employee in a public forum like Yelp. But if you know...you know. You'll have a better experience and transaction elsewhere. read more

The staff are super friendly and helpful. They were very nice answering all my questions. I didn't get a chance to purchase yet but will definitely come back. The guns there all looked amazing. The hard part is having to choose. read more

I've all but given up on Yelp but I gotta give it to the gents at City Arms for helping me decide on the right firearm for me. I arrived over an hour before opening and was around 7th in line which grew to 20 people deep shortly thereafter. Pretty standard, gentleman walks down the line checking IDs and noting positions in line. Watch out for unintentional cutters. I made a buddy in line so we were chatting about what we were looking for and ended up shopping together. Yo Dave, hit me up! The team is extremely knowledgeable but shortstaffed so they don't have all that much time for you to decide whether you want to purchase a firearm or not because... well, there's a line of 20 other people looking to buy what you're checking out. I had little time to make my decision but I'm glad I did as, by the time I had made it into the shop, I was nearly four hours invested. The FSC was a breeze and all my questions were answered before, during, and after the whole process. If you're a first timer, go in and be personable... Maybe you'll be treated nicely. read more

I gotta say at first I was a bit nervous going to city arms to purchase a gun for the first time. I had read all the reviews and I was afraid of having a negative experience. The man at the front door can come across as rude and full of sarcasm but I wouldn't take it personal to be honest. The sales associates were very helpful and informative and made my process easy and smooth. Couldn't really complain to be honest. Will be coming back and look forward to my next visit. read more
