If you take the train, there is a stop right at the entrance so that maybe a better option, but I just hate taking trains, so stuck with driving. The securitycheck is pretty smooth and once you get in, it is like you are in Disney world. Shops to great you, banners, lights, neon signs, Amex, Chase enclosures and shops, restaurants, fountains, photo booths, you name it. Most of the time I have visited, it is actually fun to sit outside and enjoy the festivities. The tennis stadium is huge and depending on where you are sitting can get very loud. I have found the crowd to be decent, understanding of the game and you can clearly see fan following. They have kept it very clean and there are a lot of food options once you are in there. Great place to enjoy tennis and I really appreciate the city for maintaining it.

On to the stands, our tickets were in row 6, and Paul the guard noticed that my son was mobility impaired, and found us seats that weren't currently occupied much lower. He had directed us to the other gate, where they supposedly had handicapped seating, but Tom at that gate, basically told us to get lost. All's well that ends well, and later in the game, Paul even came by and gave us waters and chips. Above and beyond. Around the 6th inning, they brought out desserts. My young uns loved it but I could not eat another bite. Hyundai Club will spoil you for all time. This is how to see a baseball game. The Mets won, by the way.

The menu choices and vendors inside change over time. When I was here they had Chomp'd sandwiches and donut bites, Dulcinea churros (pricey), Destination dumplings. (I went November 19, 2017, 5pm show.) It was great! I may be in euphoria for a couple of days. The circus was wonderful! First, it was an intimate setting as opposed to RBBBC or even Big Apple Circus. The performers, mostly garbed in glittery clothing though some seemed to wear street clothes, presented themselves theatrically, dancing, grinning, tumbling. A trio of musical clowns was most entertaining. They also involved the audience in chanting, clapping, cheering, or booing. A fourth diminutive clown showed up as Donald Trump in reddish-blond wig and US flag suit jacket, chasing away one clown who refused to leave. (Remember, this is a Mexican circus.) Other performers included acrobats, aerialists, soccer-playing dogs, black horses and white horses (with their trainers), and motorcycle riders. Audience members took photos with the little clown before the show, with a pony or miniature fire truck and dog during intermission, and with the cast after the show. Great fun! Addendum: although I'm somewhat familiar with Mexican culture and understand a little Spanish, I don't speak it fluently. Thankfully, Circo Hermanos Vazquez peppers their monologues and dialogues with a few English words (and English-language announcements). Traditional and popular music--Mexican, American, and otherwise--helps make this circus more accessible to the "gringo".

We rode the trusty subway right up to the stadium, with a quick trek three blocks up for vegan deli sammiches before the game in lieu of popcorn dinner (ha we did that too). You can find the same at Grand Concourse & E 161st if you're not sold on hunting for the ballpark options. Popcorn and beer were cheaper than they are in California; I am not complaining. We chose some "local" beer, Goose Island New York Legendary Golden Ale in a tall boy. Would sip again. The weather was perfect, and the Yankees won after giving us an entertaining showdown against the Devil Rays. We even got a good pickle. Mmm mmm. All of this is upstairs, where there's also dining-room seating. Downstairs, you'll find the same great options, plus classic ballpark food like hamburgers, sausages, and hot dogs.
