The new Yankees stadium. I'm here at the World Series 2024. Yankees vs. Dodgers! Go Yankees!!!

Amazing place! I'm Here for the World Series 2024. Yankees vs. Dodgers. Go Yankees! This is a crowd pleasing stadium, Amazing crowd!

In 2020, the Yankees are again on top of the MLB in terms of total payroll dollars spent.

I'm indifferent to the New York Yankees. I'm an Atlanta Braves fan. The Yankees have a 38-24 (.613) advantage over the Braves, head-to-head, all time. Due to MLB scheduling, the two teams only met once every three years for series from 2006 to 2018. They split four games last month (August 2020). There's no denying the greatness of the Yankees franchise. It's one of the winningest and most successful in all of professional sports. Since the team's inception in 1901, the Yankees have won a staggering 27 World Series titles. The second closest? The St. Louis Cardinals with 11. The Yankees are ingrained into American pop culture like Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, Coach K and Duke, and Tiger Woods. Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Derek Jeter, and Alex Rodriguez are former Yankees that have become household names over the years. The Yankees are known for their spending. They routinely have one of the most expensive, if not the most expensive, payroll in all sports. They aren't afraid to open the checkbook. On opening day 2020, the Yankees had a combined payroll of over a quarter billion dollars (about $254 million). On the low end of opening day was the Miami Marlins combined payroll at about $59 million. While the Yankees have spent a lot, they haven't had many World Series titles, relatively speaking, to show for it in the last two decades. They bookended the 2000s with titles in 2000 and 2009, but didn't win a single title throughout the 2010s. Currently, the '09 championship was their last. It'll be interesting to see where the Yanks go from here.

Catch the pinstripes in the city that never sleeps and the park of your dreams. Thankfully the new version didn't stray too far from the original, and you'll feel the history here. Easy parking factor: haha just take the train. Better yet take the train from somewhere far away like White Plains. Okay take it easy all you Big Apple lovers, but seriously parking in the city is like paying triple-price to sit in a traffic jam. Cheap ticket factor: one would think no, but actually surprisingly yes. Just don't expect to buy anything from the actual Yankees website under $100. Back in the last decade you'd have to brave the crowd outside McDonalds across the street, hit the ATM, and buy two from scarytown scalpers. Nowadays just hit up the internet aftermarket for tickets under $20. This 4-decker has plenty of room so it's hard to fill the place if it's not the playoffs or Boston isn't in town. Also enjoy yourself under the roof 2nd through 4th level decks if it's raining. Welcoming factor: it's New York, so they got yous Southern hospitality right heah. But as far as that goes, you'll feel like you're at home in this Temple of Baseball. Pre-game you can check out the "Hall of Statues" which is not it's name but pretty cool to step back in time remembering Yankee greats. Unique views of the park from centerfield as well. Just come early since it closes pre-game. Food factor: Of course. Avocado Bites, Po' Boys, Crispy Maple Cheicken, Big Mozz, MQRib. You'll drop a few large, but when in Rome. Move freely about the cabin factor: Cruise all four levels for some different views closer to the action, where you might get to see a Yankees fan help a player "catch" a foul ball by handing a souvenir ball to him to end an inning versus Cleveland. No that could never happen right? Little kid souvenir factor: Definitely the Hall of Champions, but generally this is the place where you stare in awe at everything versus the "hands-on" experience. Decent visitor BP chances to rub shoulders with some visitor-scrub players, maybe snag a foul ball too, but this place is too sacred for the foul-catching action you'd get at places like Mmmilwaukee or Oakland. A summer classic experience awaits at Yankee Stadium (just bring your diamond-studded money clip).

To me visiting this stadium was a iconic moment. Stadium was very clean, they had a good beer selection and food selection. This was a well maintained baseball stadium. Just be careful outside of the stadium. It's very dangerous outside of the stadium.

I could not have said this any better than Joanna did - "... tradition starts you off in the world with your first pair of pinstripes. You born into the family, you get pinstripes. Plain and simple. It's a religion, it's a way of life, Being a Yankees fan IS life!" Well said, I agree 100%. I grew up in the Bronx and used to take the subway to the games. For me, it started off with the great Yankee teams of the 1960's. Not only Mickey and Roger and Whitey, but our personal favorites, Marshall Bridges, Bobby Richardson, Elston Howard, Hector Lopez, Tom Tresh and everyone else. The years rolled on, the decades changed, the teams in the league changed, but the Yankees and my feelings for them never wavered. Are you old enough to remember the lean years of the late 60's -the Horace Clark/Jerry Kenney years? Lean times with an occasional star like Bobby Murcer or Mel Stottlemyre? Then the Steinbrenner rebirth and the dynasty of the late 1970's that saw Munson and Roy White and Craig Nettles and Reggie and Catfish. The world championships were so sweet. Then there was 20 years of so-so ball, until the Joe Torre era, a new generation of heroes, and a new dynasty. Paul O'Neil, The "Core Four", Jeter, Bernie, Jorge, and the great Mariano. I watch just about every game and when I'm in the car I listen to John and Suzyn. I always have to watch or listen. It's in my DNA, I guess.

Had so much fun at the Yankees game and bonus saw them win! It was a beautiful day to watch a ballgame, food and drinks are expensive so come prepared. But the food quality for a ballpark are incredible! You will find anything from a hot dog to an organic burger to a homemade veggie burger to the craziest sundaes with churros!

Went to a Yankees game at the new stadium this summer! A friend's father has these EXCELLENT (see pictures) season tickets for seats like 8 rows from the field! It was so amazingly fun. Best part, tickets were freeee! I remember the beers being very expensive. My recommendation: have some in the parking lot before hand and it doesn't hurt so bad ... ie: no clue how much they cost. Just - fun. Do it.

Went to the new stadium, beautiful! Had a good time. The security is quick to stop any rowdy fans, maybe a little too strict. But I understand to stop issues before they escalate. Met cool people sitting around us. Had really awesome chicken sliders and garlic fries! I hear the stadium is easier to navigate in vs. the old stadium. But we had troubles finding our seat. Wouldn't have minded some more signs to the 200. Felt like it was either 100 or 300. Groupon had a deal on seats so we got ours at a great price.

Our first order of business was visiting monument park right as gates opened at 5:30 since it closes before first pitch. Best access is entering in through Gate 8, and surprisingly there was no line for a Friday evening game! This is a must for any baseball fan and you can see all of the retired Yankee numbers along with a monument plaque for greats. We also had a good field and dining experience. Tried the angry lobster roll, grub and tub chicken bucket, and ice cream chicken bucket. The chicken was alright, nothing too amazing but it is a lot of fries and a good amount of tendies. Pretty decent value for $23 since it comes with a souvenir drink. Lobster roll was great! I really liked the seasoning, and it came with a side of chips too. The real highlight was the ice cream chicken bucket! The hype is real with this one! Each drumstick was made intricately with yummy cornflake coating and the chocolate pretzel bone is a great touch. Seating in the 212 section was pretty fun. The Yanks are doing great right now so the energy in the crowd was amazing. We went crazy during Ben Rice's homer! Only downside was some people got a bit too crazy and threw up right behind my wife's seat...not great but it is what it is I guess. We enjoyed walking around the stadium, talking to fans, and taking in all the different views while getting our food. The one thing I'd say is that while our experience was good, can't help but feel the stadium lacks a bit of character. The concourse is just okay compared to most other modern stadiums, and there aren't many things other than monument park and the Yankee museum that make the place stand out. The great hall is cool, but you don't really spend much time there. It's a good stadium, but I feel like there were some missed opportunities during construction that could have put it in the upper echelon of MLB ballparks.

I digress because I am me ( also nobody tell my deceased father that we were here because the lifelong Brooklyn Dodger fan would have been heartbroken! I would have given Yankee Stadium four stars , based on ease of access from the subway, cute concession stand souvenirs ( the stadium cup and chicken finger bucket are being fashioned into an Easter basket for my nephew!) and cleanliness of restrooms. Also Aaron Judge hit home run within ten minutes of the game starting. Even though I am Yelp Elite Squad, Kyle's comments ( I hate Queens! They've qualified for the playoffs every year but one, highlighted by a first-place finish in the Eastern Conference standings in 2019. Generally, a fairly good showing for such a new club. The team primarily plays its games at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. When configured for MLS games, the stadium has a capacity of about 29,000-30,000. Like other MLS teams, average attendance has been good. Official attendance records show roughly 24,000 fans per game (80-82% capacity). Over the years, several various plans for a dedicated soccer stadium designed specifically for the team - from Manhattan to Elmont (Belmont Stakes) - have been proposed, but nothing has materialized yet. In the club's short history, Spanish striker David Villa has been, by far, the club's best and most popular player. He played for New York from 2015 to 2018 and holds the club records for most appearances (126) and goals (80). He was a forward on the Spanish national team that won the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Etihad Airways, of the United Arab Emirates, has been the team's main sponsor during its existence so far.

And word is they may end up moving to Queens. Can you imagine. My fave borough and one of my least fave teams. I mean they're affiliated with Man City and play in the same colours. How disgusting. So considering I've been a fan of Red Bull NY since back when they were Metrostars... then it follows that I wouldn't love NYCFC, their rival. Of course I'm not a fan of NYCFC, who are the rich kids of the East Coast, think Galaxy but worse. They get a lot of good players piped in, and they do have a few good people behind them, but they're basically the Manchester City of North America. So not my favourite by any stretch of the imagination. Red Bull will always be the heart and the soul of the NY area football for me. These guys play at Yankee Stadium and they have been looking for a place in Queens to play, but for me the team of people from Queens is always going to be Red Bull even though they're over New Jersey. I'm so not a fan of the Manchester City Style kit or the ownership, and I'm hoping that they continue middling around and don't really go anywhere. But it's good to have a two-team New York area rivalry for sure. And it's definitely one of the classic legendary stadiums for baseball and as a baseball Arena it would get 5 stars and is second to none. As a soccer arena it gets three stars and just doesn't seem like a good home for this team or the sport, and it's no coincidence that they've been largely struggling in it. So the stadium that Ruth built is amazing and it's been renovated recently and it's just way too expensive - that's the main problem. If you live in this part of the Bronx you'd have to probably spend a week's wages just to come and see a game here. And a watery beer that is American of course, is going to cost you between 12 and $20. So forget it.
