Wow. Solebury Orchards is a wonderful day where you can pick apples and even pick your own flowers. Add on they have a tractor that will bring you to the best areas on this massive orchard for you to pick a variety of at least four different kinds of apples. Last week when we went we got to choose from : Pixie Crunch, Crimson, Jonathan, and Empire apples. Once you are done picking your apples you can check out outside or inside there store and did I mention they have amazing apple slushies, apple cider donuts, and other goodies you can indulge in. FYI : You need to pick a time to reserve for apple picking for a fee of $2.50 per person which is totally fine in my book as almost everyone that was picking there apples picked one off the vine and ate it before you even check out. Also, there are many apples that fall off from the vines and go to waste, for a fee of $2.50 to tend to the Orchards I have no problem forking over this fee to reserve a time slot and make operations run smoothly. If you have never went apple picking and balk at the idea I urge you to go outside of your comfort zone and take part in this fun experience. As always people SYOY!!

It's all about the apple cider donuts! Solebury Orchards is only 15 miles from home as the crow flies, but a magical country drive to its small shop at the end of a long driveway off Creamery Road northwest of New Hope, PA. These folks are about locally grown apples and all of the variety of products that come from them. Apple sauce, apple pie filling, full peck and half peck of of fresh picked fully ripened polished beauties, caramel candy apples, dark brown apple cider, faded pastel baseball caps with logo and bags of six apple cider donuts (saving the best for last). Many costumers were there for apples for baking pies and carried out full bushel (peck) and half bushel (half peck) of their favorite varieties. We didn't see any already made pies this afternoon, but I remember buying them in years past. But, oh, those donuts. Light, soft, sugared/cinnamoned, sweet and palate-sticking delicious. We walked out with a bag full and gallon of cider; finishing them on the way home with gulps of amazing apple elixir as washdown.

I went with my family and it's a nice little orchard. It's on the smaller side so a lot of the rows had been picked over already. They have a lovely little market and my favorite thing was the cider ice! Unfortunately, it was an abnormally hot day and shade was spar e so we didn't stay long. Would love to return earlier in the season for other varieties!

Solebury is hands down the nicest orchard in the area. A lot of the other orchards are either super commercial and "gimmicky." Understandably apple picking is a great family activity, but adults like to enjoy apple picking with friends and partners as well, and the over done "kiddy" aspect of some competitors really annoys this childless millennial. The best part about Solebury is that you don't have to pay an entrance fee, and there is currently no minimum for apples (fill a bag, or a box like some others). Right bu the entrance there is a line for the wagon to take you out to the orchard (or you can walk, but it's kindof far) and from there you are then dropped off and given brief instructions. Bags are provided at the beginning of one the pickable rows, and some ladders are available throughout (but other than that, there are no other tools provided to grab the higher up fruit). All of the rows are clearly marked with type of apple and whether or not that row is ripe and pickable (some of the farther back rows weren't ripe just yet, so there were signs warning not to pick). Once you're all finished, you can ride the wagon back (also good to note that the driver made sure to stress space between parties and asked if everyone was comfortable in light of the pandemic) and pay for your pickings around the back of the general store. They also have cider donuts available for purchase, pre-bagged, in half dozen increments, and they were some of the tastiest cider donuts I've ever had. Not too sugary and perfect to be enjoyed with coffee or by themselves. Overall 11/10 would pick again.

Very pretty, very organized apple-picking operation. I like that you pay by the pound, so you can but as many or as few apples as you want. There is a reservation fee to pick your own on the weekends but you don't pay anything to enter the orchard fields on Thursday or Friday. The apple cider donuts were good but alas they don't sell them fresh off the fryer belt. They're light and fluffy and have just the right touch of sweetness from the granulated sugar and cinnamon-- but there are better donuts to be had. Still at $5 per half dozen, it was an enjoyable treat with a cup of coffee.

We had a ball here picking apples and enjoying the fall. Solebury orchards was a nice experience. We had a timed ticket which helped to make the experience tolerable. The covid was not in question as they limited entrance. The apples were priced very well at 1.50 per pound. The shop has many cute local items . Delicious cider and apple cider donuts . There were three types of apples to pick jonahgold, empire, and piñata apples all were abundant and fresh. You can ride the tractor To the orchards but we opted to take the short walk. Picturesque place with lots of charm. We had a fun day. The shop items were also price affordably. We got the pepper jelly , apple butter and peach butter. We tried the cider and the donuts. All in all a great day ! Staff were great and no queues the timed tickets definitely a plus !

It's not organic, but dang their apples are tasty. They have a lot of varieties of apple that I have never heard of, but they were juicy and fresh. I can tell you the 'Crimson Crisp' variety made an awesome apple pie. It's really quite cheap and I got a large bag of apples for around 6 dollars. The pick-your-own portion of their orchard is a lot of fun. The tractor ride out is free and they have many ladders set up in the fields for easy access of the higher hanging fruits. This place is very well organized and straight forward, something which I definitely appreciate. If you're hungry they have some goodies available in the store. I had the apple cider and apple cider donuts, both of which were delicious. This place might be the best place in Bucks county to pick your own apples. I'll be sure to be back.

Such nice, friendly service! I called to see if the donuts were fresh, and the man on the phone was good humored enough to patiently wait for me to explain what I meant (they're actually really fresh!). I wanted straight out of the fryer fresh, to which he responded, well we let them cool first versus made and put into plastic that day or night before. There's a taste difference if you're familiar with apple cider donuts. And they were fresh! And straight into paper bags, so you know that they weren't meant to stay in those bag that long, like if they were in plastic. Super cute place, we saw that they had apple picking, but you need a reservation.

This is one of those great Bucks County locations. We went today and bought 2 quarts of blueberries. You can also pick your own if you want. When apple season comes they have the best honey-crisp apples in the area. They always have apple cider available as well. I do not eat them, but the apple cider donuts are also quite tasty. This is just a nice place to go and walk around. It is a very relaxing, bucolic atmosphere. The people who work here are super friendly and helpful too. I cannot think of one negative thing to say. The bottom line is this is one of the best orchards, and orchard markets around. If you like apples, blueberries, apple cider and other assorted fruits too, you will absolutely love it here.

Solebury Orchards is one of my favorite places to go to and escape the city. It's a great place to pick berries in the summer and apples in the fall! It's enjoyable to pick produce with family and friends! They have a little market where you can buy homemade apple cider donuts, ciders, and other homemade goods as well! We went during berry season to pick the local blueberries and peaches. We picked so many that we decided to make jam using the fresh produce! I alway leave with a smile on my face because Solebury Orchards is just an enjoyable time!

Such a lovely orchard, and great people who work here. Lots of room and apples to choose from (depending on the time of the season since available changes accordingly). Make sure to take the hayride to the picking section! Even though it's walkable it's a good idea to go because an employee gives you the lowdown on where and what to pick! They also have a little store inside for apples and freshly made apple products. Enjoy!

Ask the Community - Solebury Orchards

The fruit looks and tastes delicious. Do they spray the produce with pesticides?

I am not sure, but I did not see any large containers of chemicals around the property.

We came to get honey crisp apples and took the ride out to the field, although you could easily walk as well.
