Friendly place. Smallish place. Pricey place. Excellent pies. But the place is full of stuff filled-with artificial colors, flavors and ingredients. Even the stuff that should be homemade (tea loaves, breads...) has preservatives. Not what I expect in a quaint little barn store. read more

I have been coming to this farm off and on over the years since I was a little girl - so about 25+ years. Recently took my boyfriend to pumpkin pick and we had a fun time ! I'm not entirely sure if the pumpkins are actually grown there - as apparently many pumpkin patches aren't - but they definitely did have apple picking which I would love to do because I haven't done it at this particular farm in years. They had wagon rides available as well. There was also a beautiful autumnal display by the pumpkin patch which was a great photo opportunity. After pumpkin picking we of course took photos with the iconic giant jack-o'-lantern . I miss the spaceship they had and saw it tucked away behind their barn. We also stopped in the little farm stand which is very tiny but filled with so much deliciousness. I will say hands down they make such amazing pies. I have memories of my dad picking them up warm from their stand before the holidays and then being the most amazing pie I've ever had. Recently I tried their honey crisp apple pie - game changer ! The staff at the pumpkin patch was also sooo nice ! We had a nice little talk about fall and the Phillies ! Overall great spot for the family or for couples or friends ! We had a quick, but really fun, strawberry picking experience this past Saturday. First thing to note- the parking is on a grassy field that gets VERY muddy. On our way out a car was trying to get unstuck-lots of nice people helping the car out though. Ask for the number of green baskets you want to fill. Each is $4 and some change. They look small but you can actually fit a good amount in. Payment is at the end. They still had LOTS of juicy strawberries to pick -we had no problem filling 3 baskets between the three of us. The market has a large variety of pies, jams, sauces, and other treats. Service is friendly and quick. If I lived in the area, I'd definitely be a regular here. read more

This is the farm stand I use, great tomatoes, corn and stone fruit. Prices are good, service is great.

So nice to have an old school farm stand in the area. It's so sad that many have closed in recent years. It's a family affair here. Nice vibe. The produce is fresh and high quality. We also purchase locally produced picallili. It's hard to find, so that is appreciated. Please continue to stock it. We will enjoy the summer abundance. Super cute little fruit/veggie stand with other food stuffs. We randomly stopped in en route to see my fiance's family. I'm a sucker for a family run fruit and veggie stand so I had to pull over. Service was friendly and polite. I ended up grabbing a couple of jars of picked goodies - one hot relish and one garlic pickles, which I cannot wait to try! We arrived just in time for the strawberry harvest. The place was literally overrun with grade school scamps going berserk for fresh produce. Our kids loved it too. Prices in the store were up there for both fresh produce and packaged foods. I also have to say, I was disappointed to see that many of their goods were not locally produced or all-natural. It's a Pennsylvania farm stand after all, so I guess was expecting that some grandma would be hand making all of her delicacies based on 100 year old family recipes. Instead we saw jams and chocolates made with high fructose corn syrup and artifical flavor in Oklahoma and Virginia. Still, it's nice place staffed by nice folks and worth a visit. read more

The farm has some nice offerings, sadly, their pies are not one of them. I kept trying their pies, but time-and-time again, the crusts were always undercooked. My husband would say they were raw! We've commented to the staff that the pies were undercooked and they could have cared less. I've picked peaches here and enjoyed them, although the trek to the trees is a hard walk. There are a lot of farms to visit in the area, so I choose to go elsewhere. read more

Hands down the best pies you can buy! The apple and cherry crumble are to die for! The staff is super friendly and it is easy to order ahead of time if necessary. I came across them at a local farmer's market and have since visited their farm. Would be a great place to pick up some local produce or pick pumpkins as well!! read more

My daughter had her first ever field trip here. It's a little bit far but it was well worth it. Everyone there is so nice. It was extremely educational as well. It was $16 for my daughter and I and we both got to pick an apple and a pumpkin. There store is reasonably priced and they have some very delicious food items there. Most disappointingly, the produce quality has declined, and Solly's prices are substantially higher than Tannner's, which has a better selection and is just down the street. The pies and jams are acceptable although I am now a convert to Uncle Joe Dautcher's Farm Market on Mearns Road for homemade pies. Dautcher's are made with fresh fruit while many of Solly's are made with canned ingredients. read more

What a wasted trip. Thinking this would be an inexpensive, spectacular array of fruits and veggies, I couldn't contain my excitement as I headed onto Jacksonville Road and then onto Almshouse. Boy was my excitement whittled down to nothing when I saw what i was dealing with. Maybe they're more popular for their baked goods and jarred items, but their fruits and veggies ....well, they just stunk! I did get celery, garlic, a red onion, and green onions for about $2 and change. Meh. I'll stick to Wegmans. read more

I love this place, they have a lot of things to look around out like jams, preservers, dressings and more. Their fruit and veggies all look really good and their peaches are so juicy. I love how you can even pick your own stuff sometimes like strawberries or Apples. It's always a plus when they're baking and the smells literally hit you as soon as you get in the parking lot. I love it here! There are all kinds of plants. I bought a 6 ack of coleus for $2.99. There's also lots of fresh fruits and veggies. The best part though is the pies. Try the blueberry and/or Dutch apple. The apple cinnamon doughnuts are delicious. On the weekends there are inexpensive fresh flower bouquets. read more

Stopped for their Pancake Breakfast and got a plate full of delicious peach pancakes, sausages, homemade donuts,coffee and juice..and sat looking over the farm and listened to a guitarist. ..what a way to begin my day..perfect Stopped inside their produce stand and grabbed some fresh corn,tomatoes,and peaches..they always bake pies on the premises. ..can't wait to make dinner tonight with all my goodies!! My husband and I celebrated Thanksgiving on Friday this year due to work. My husband stopped and picked up 2 pies and they aren't cheap! Pumpkin tasteless apple 2as sour crust was under baked. They were such a disappointment. Sorry but never again! read more

I was very impressed with Solly Farm. The pies and hay rides make Mr. Solly 'Farm' awesome! Their flowers are never looking so happy. But they have a red building facing a church and a cornfield. The bakery is what they've been known for for many years. I'll come back when necessary! read more

This place is a bit hard to evaluate...We went at end of October for apple picking, but they were out of apples =( so they offered us to pick some broccoli, which was a first! There was a nice pumpkin patch. They still did the hayride around the farm, but without anywhere really to go. There is also a small store on site with some baked goods and other fruits and veggies. Overall it was disappointing to not get apples, but everyone there was pretty nice, and it's nice to visit since it's close by. read more

Went here with my kid for a class trip. It was okay. The kids enjoyed it which is what matters. Hayride was uneventful but it's a hayride around the farm. We weren't able to pick out or apples but we're able to pick our own pumpkin. The fields were not over picked which was nice. The farm itself was kind of a mess. Lots of stuff everywhere from equipment to plastic containers to tools. The little store was quaint. Purchased a blueberry buckle pie the family enjoyed it. Saw the apple cider donuts that were available for sale as well but didn't purchase cause remembered the appearance of the guy that said that he just made some donuts and decided not to. He didn't look very 'clean' but then again he could of made that very pie that myself and the entire family enjoyed. Would I take my kid here if it weren't for the class trip probably not. read more

This place is great. The crop share plan is the best, tons of fresh fruit and veggies each week. By far the best place for pick your own everything, which the kids love.
