This was really a treat. We went on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, arriving around 9 AM. There were at least 6 or 7 groups ahead of us patiently waiting for their tables, so I knew right away the place was a local's favorite. The wait was surprisingly short, maybe 15 or 20 minutes, and once inside I could see why. The place was bustling. The patrons and staff were wonderfully polite and respectful and friendly. There were many young families and an equal number of older couples and quite a few groups of younger couples as well. Obviously, this place is enjoyed by a very diverse group of people, and clearly, the bulk of whom were regulars. We were promptly seated, asked if we wanted coffee and in no time, it appeared. There were four or five wait staff circulating about, taking orders, bringing coffee, setting carafes of ice cold water, filling orders, etc. It was the best choreographed mayhem I've seen in a long time. I could see into the kitchen and there were four or five short order cooks who seemed to be constantly smiling despite being inundated with orders. Clearly, everyone on staff was fully invested in making the customer's experience the best it could be. My wife and I both ordered the corn beef hash and egg and a biscuit. The restaurant even has an "over 50" menu for those with smaller appetites (us), for roughly $5 less than the big boy breakfast. All around people were piling in their pretty enormous portions of pancakes and omelets and such, and just really relaxed and engaged with each other. The wait staff seemed always at the ready with more coffee and water, I hadn't been treated this well since a very fancy brunch at the Enchantment Resort in Sedona some 10 or so years ago. Our plates arrived and contained the largest biscuit I've ever seen, could have been used as a nice fluffy pillow. The hash was delicious. The egg and hash browns perfect and the pillow, er biscuit, was large enough to split into a nice half for then, and a nice half for the next day's coffee and ... A major plus for biscuit lovers was a small container, complete with lid, of beautifully soft and spreadable butter (which accompanied my to go half of biscuit home). The hub bub of the restaurant, the friendly and professional staff, the food and the pricing (including the AARP menu options) made this an unforgettable Sunday breakfast. BTW, the restaurant was closed the next day, Labor Day, with all of the staff receiving a paid holiday. That's the way to run a family business, treat your patrons and staff as family. read more

Every time we go there (and we are there frequently!), the servers are consistently friendly, efficient, and seem to truly be enjoying their work. The food is always good, and the atmosphere is like having your meal with a large family: Everybody knows everybody, and that makes for a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. What I like the most about Cislo's is that it's a local diner that has been in the same spot, well...forever! It is frequented by locals and has a local vibe. Lots of old timers and regulars. The food is ok. It's your typical 'old diner' menu. Their breakfast is good. They still serve meatloaf, grilled cheese with tomato soup, chicken fried steak, and liver and onions! All comfort food. The waitresses are great and the whole staff are happy and always smiling. So friendly and 'Johnny on the spot'. Your order appears quickly. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and prime rib on Friday nights, which is good at a reasonable price. The inside was recently renovated and has brightened up the place. They did a nice job! The parking lot is always full when I drive by and it gives me a sense of comfort and neighborliness just to see it still there after all these years. read more

There is a reason this place has been around so long - good cooking made and served with love. Huge variety on the menu, so there is something here for everyone. My wife was wanting a home cooked type meal after we had been on the road for 10 days or so. We try to avoid restaurant chains when we travel, so this place fit the bill perfectly! We were a bit overwhelmed with the choices on the menu, so we sent the waitress away a couple of times be fore finally ordering. We were lucky to have one of those waitresses that was well experienced and offered some suggestions on popular dishes. I ordered the suggested pan fried Alaskan cod and baked potato with a delicious dinner salad and loved the taste and presentation. We finished by splitting a slice of homemade chocolate cream pie that was amazing! Great place - a MUST try! read more

A great accidental find! Super friendly staff, fresh salads, good food, and a nice vibe. I stopped in for a bite and to kill some time waiting for a flight out of Glacier International Airport (FCA). I had the chicken fried steak with bacon/jalapeño gravy and ... tater tots (mashed potato, baked potato, or fries were the other options ... I just can't remember the last time I had tater tots these tots were crispy on the outside - the way they're meant to be) Obviously all homemade and I could have sucked that gravy down with a boba straw. It was good. Chased it down with their pistachio cream pie. Another winner. Can't wait to try their take on the banana or coconut next time. I noticed there were a few regulars that must go in on a daily basis. Two had the meatloaf special. I'll be looking more closely at that next time I'm in the area. Stop by if you're in the area. Not sure what all the hype was about on all the other reviews, seems like a really busy place so we are hoping the reviews were accurate, but was sorely disappointed. Hubby had the French dip, the meat tasted and look like it came out of a package was dry and had that packaged meat flavor. I had some sort of a grilled turkey sandwich on a ciabatta roll. ciabatta roll was extremely dry and the turkey was dryer making it very very difficult to swallow. Cislos is a great spot for some classic diner food in a setting that makes you feel like you are among family. The restaurant is small and busy with a menu full of diner classics like breakfast platters, hot sandwiches and fried sides. I had a classic BLT which came with side options including fries, onion rings and, unusually, cottage cheese. I went with the onion rings, which went well with the crisp BLT and thick cut bacon. Service was friendly and speedy. I particularly liked that a jug of water was provided rater than having to ask for refills. read more

This restaurant was a delightful reprieve from the standard burger/pizza/sandwich/beer places that are so pervasive in the area. It is an old fashioned diner with great food and service. I had liver and onions, and hubby had a (real) chicken fried steak. The mashed potatoes were the real thing too. The homemade pies were made this morning and were delicious. The cream of tomato soup was really good, and the side salad was fresh and generous. It all came with friendly smiles too. We will surely eat there again before we head back to Texas. read more

Great place for breakfast. Me and some friends were looking for a breakfast place before our flight back to Seattle and ended eating up at Cislos since its so close to the airport. Food was great, service was exceptional and the prices were decent. I got the strawberry waffles and my wife got biscuit and hash browns with gravy ( white gravy without sausage, vegetarian). Chicken fried steak was large and cooked perfect the potatoes and gravy were good but could of used little more seasoning, but I would order again. But the tall cook, blonde needs to work on better cleanliness techniques when handling food.
