Regrettably the food was not very good this time around. We had our server remake the Fresh Guacamole 3 times, not sure if the avocados were not ripe enough or the person making it was new. The rest of the food did not have the usual freshness to it, it is hard to pinpoint what was different from previous visits. Nevertheless, I will say that after our server found out that we were there celebrating a birthday he made sure we ended our dinner with a celebratory birthday song. The ambiance felt festive with all the colorful Christmas decor.

The ambiance is great with a fun Mexican fiesta vibe and a full bar. Outdoor dining is also a nice option. Even though it's located in a strip mall, the space is large enough that it doesn't feel like it. Service was on point. I ordered a cocktail that was made incorrectly, but the waiter quickly fixed it without any hassle. As for the food, it was average. Nothing stood out as spectacular, but everything was good. We had the fajitas, some tacos, and enchiladas. The fajitas were heavy on grilled veggies and light on protein, which was a little disappointing. That said, I'd definitely come back with a group for happy hour and appetizers. The lively, party vibe makes it a great spot to hang out and enjoy drinks with friends.

Cisco's Mexican food is always delicious. Conveniently located Just off the 23 & 101 Freeway in Thousand Oaks. Sunday's are my daughter and my get together day fur breakfast to catch up on events it's of the week. This Sunday we chose Cisco's! For Brunch, plenty of food, included mimosa's. I of course had to try a spoonful of everything, chips, Refried Beans, Rice. Chili Verde, Cheese Enchilada and fresh shrimp. For dessert I helped myself to a cup of fresh fruit. Dine inside or insulated patio. They had a fan blowing that kept it nice and cool. Food is delicious, Hostess & Server friendly. Family oriented, dress casual, relaxing. I highly recommend trying Cisco's. Check it out!!!!

Came here for dinner with my hubby and our kids. I think this is my new favorite restaurant. Loved the food, loved the margarita and I loved the ambiance.

Beautiful table outside with an old-time friend, enjoying the crowd and food.

Been sitting in my both for 10 minutes, the restaurant is half empty and no one has even said hello to us. Not worth staying.

My all time favorite Mexican restaurant. Came here all the time growing up and recently went back to find it was still pretty good.

And in a way, that's exactly what El Sancho Cantina is: an escape. A secret. A little taste of something else. Whether you slide in for lunch, happy hour, or dinner, El Sancho is where you come to cheat on your routine. Tucked into Thousand Oaks, it's a getaway hidden in plain sight. Sit at the bar, let the cool breeze drift through, and allow the Spanish ballads to work their magic. For a moment, you'll forget where you are--and believe you've wandered into a dreamy cantina somewhere deep in Mexico. Start with the "El Viejo"--their riff on an Old Fashioned. Let the applewood smoke swirl above the glass as you lean in. The aroma hits first, then the deep flavors of añejo tequila and Mexican whiskey settle in with smooth confidence. Sip slow. This isn't a race--it's a seduction. If you're looking for something a little lighter--a healthy balance between indulgence and intention--try the two taco plate with the green salad substitution. I went for one Potato taco, one Shredded Chicken taco, and swapped out the rice and beans for a salad of mixed greens and cucumber, dressed with balsamic vinaigrette and a squeeze of fresh lime. The flavors were bright, clean, and satisfying. I walked away full--but not heavy. If I was meeting my Sancha after, I could've easily gone for a stroll. Maybe even dessert. But don't let me lead you down the wrong path--the tacos and cocktails are already all the temptation you need. And if that post-lunch lull starts to creep in, fight back with the "El Cafecito"--a soulful wake-up call of Licor 43, Kahlúa, cold brew coffee, and chocolate bitters. My personal pick over an espresso martini--bold, smooth, and unapologetically delicious. So yes, you might be cheating on SoCal for an hour with Mexico vibes, but El Sancho doesn't judge. In fact, it invites you back--with open arms, a strong pour, and just the right amount of trouble.

Popped in here for a quick bite and it hit the spot…read more Chips and salsa arrive right away so you can look over the menu, make decisions, and then order at the counter. Some people may not love the counter ordering setup, but it moves quickly and I actually liked it just fine. My margarita was tasty, not too sweet, and came out fast. I ordered a combo with a hard chicken taco and a chile relleno with rice and beans. The taco was delicious. I added extra salsa because I love salsa. The beans come in an edible cup, which is both delicious and slightly dangerous because it will fill you up fast. In an effort to pace myself, I did the unthinkable and pulled the batter off the chile relleno and just ate the pepper with the melted cheese inside, which was fresh and wonderful. My fellow diners were very happy with their beef enchiladas and chimichanga. One thing I really liked is that when you are finished you can simply get up and leave. No waiting around for a check. Also worth noting: everyone working there was incredibly nice and almost suspiciously cheerful.

The food at this location has really gone down lately. When I was there with my coworkers…read morerecently, my fajitas came cold and the chicken had a strange texture. For the amount this place charges, this is pretty unacceptable. What I found to be extremely unacceptable was that this place was closed today when I went over to grab lunch. After checking out their Instagram page, I noticed they closed because of some national shutdown. The fact that a local business like this would openly support something like this is ridiculous. Not to mention the so called shutdown was against ICE enforcement activities which is disturbing. My coworkers, family, friends could not believe Los Agaves would do this so we will no longer be supporting any of their locations.
