Driveway Failed in Under 3 Years, Company is Completely Unresponsive…read more I am writing this review out of extreme disappointment and frustration with Nardi Pavement. We hired them a few years ago to pave our driveway in Darien, a significant investment we expected to last for many, many years. Unfortunately, the quality of their work is shockingly poor. Our driveway is now riddled with extensive cracks and has sunk substantially in multiple areas, creating an uneven and unsightly mess not to mentioned water in my basement! This level of deterioration in such a short period of time is completely unacceptable and points to improper base preparation or low-quality materials. What is most infuriating, however, is the complete lack of accountability. I have made numerous attempts to contact Nardi Pavement to have them address this premature failure. I have left multiple voicemails over the past 2 months and have not received a single call back. They were happy to take my money, but now that there's a problem, they are nowhere to be found. A company's reputation is built not just on the initial job, but on how they stand by their work afterward. Nardi Pavement has failed on both fronts. I am now left with a failed driveway that will cost thousands to repair. I strongly urge anyone considering their services to look elsewhere.

We hired Zef and his crew to rebuild our bluestone front steps that needed leveling and also a side…read morepatio that was falling apart. They reused all the stones that were still good and replaced a few broken ones. Once those projects were done they installed a new bluestone pool patio. Zef took the time to pick out the best stones for our design. They did an excellent job and we are very happy with the results. They were easy to work with from start to finish. They do quality work and I would definitely recommend them for all your masonry needs!

They also broke the nozzle! The concrete was mixed in several spots on my lawn and splatter all over the front of our shed. The concrete was smoothed out incorrectly. When we asked for it to be fixed, they refused!!

I would advise caution when considering this contractor for home improvement projects. We hired…read moreFive Star to renovate our kitchen, bathroom and foyer. While initially friendly, he became very unprofessional after egregious errors in workmanship were made by Jese and his team. The tile work in all three areas were uneven with extreme lippage in some areas, had large grout lines that were cracked and messy, and were not properly adhered to the floor. Jese acknowledged the problems and promised to fix them, even going so far as to order replacement tiles. However, after over a year of repeated attempts to get him to return and resolve the situation, he stopped responding and never followed through on his commitment to make it right. Left with no other recourse, we filed a lawsuit in small claims court. The judge reviewed the evidence, including photos of the substandard work and communications promising to correct it, and ruled fully in our favor, awarding us a judgment of over $10k. Jese/Five Star Construction never paid this amount, forcing us to make a claim with the Connecticut Home Improvement Guaranty Fund administered by the Department of Consumer Protection. We are now in the process of having all of the work redone properly by someone who has specific tile expertise. We learned our lesson and before hiring anyone for a home renovation, we strongly recommend checking with the Department of Consumer Protection for prior complaints, looking up licenses, and searching public court records (available online) for lawsuits and small claims involving contractors you are considering. This can help avoid a stressful and costly situation like the one we experienced with Five Star Construction.

I requested an estimate on a new driveway and berm. A young man with an accent showed up and gave…read moreme a price that I agreed to pay. They proceeded to come out to do the work. I kept asking about the quality of the material and was told the material is great. Driveway and berm were installed a year ago. Now I am having all kinds of problems with the work. The driveway is wavy and is not consistent throughout. Edges are jagged and pieces are missing There was a small crack at the end of the driveway. The asphalt near the road is all gray and pieces of asphalt gone. The berm is pitted and has cracks in it. I had a problem where a truck caused damage to the berm, I called and asked for help and no one called me. Now I have texted them pictures and my concerns about just how long this driveway will last. I have only put a dent in the loan I took out to pay for all of this. I am now getting stonewalled again, there was no guarantee of the work. Honestly, because I am a senior citizen woman I feel I was taken advantage of.

I've been calling since Jan. 2024 with water coming down wall where chimney is, staining wall in living room. I've made appointments, spoke with Chris in Feb., now its March. Several missed appointments. Water damage worse now. Finally called and asked for them to be honest and if they didn't want my job because its not an entire roof. Said they will show up but I'm not holding my breathe. I started researching chimney masons. Too bad because they are pleasant on the phone but Noel has been using the same roof job excuse for months. I just saw a roof go up in my neighborhood in 2 days. Maybe I will call them for an estimate. Update...I'm changing to 4 stars from 1. Friday 3/15/24 I received a call from Noel that the worker, Anthony, was in my driveway. It was scheduled for Monday. I received no courtesy call changing the day and keeping me posted. I'm taking a star off for their scheduling issues. Anthony gets 5 stars. They are lucky they have a knowledgeable worker. He is great. I would recommend but will add to keep calling if scheduling an appointment.
