When I showed up I could tell there were people that have been doing this group for a long tIme. Well there's a reason for that. Eartha is, simply put, magic. Her smile is infectious. She's got so much swagger. As a new mom going to her class was like going out to a club except I didn't have to get dressed up or stay out late. I could just close my eyes, get down, and lose calories! But don't close you eyes too long haha. You've got to work for that class WERK. People tell me to try out their Zumba class i just nod and smile because i know there could NEVER be a class that compares to Eartha. She's like a fairy i love her!

We saw that there was a play called Jane Austen Unscripted being held outside the theater in back of the building. 8 of us decided to go and got a table just in front of the stage. It was lunchtime and local stores and restaurants provided some munchies, one per person, like fruit tarts, berry scones, a cupcake and cucumber tea sandwich. When reading the "program" we saw it was going to be improv with members of the Impro Theater, and as we've been to improvs before we know that it can be great or not so much. We, and every table at the show, thought it was a fantastic show. The actors did a great job that had us laughing and enjoying it to the 10-star degree. We understand that there's a bit of a different show based on the actors and audience response, but our show was great! It's still playing for a little while so if you can and like Jane Austin and improvisation definitely go see it!

The thing I love most about there is that they have is tic toes that will teach you the skills and the foundations do dance while still making it fun. I need a balance of technique and fun and they deliver! I have had the esteemed pleasure of working with and competing with many of the instructors, I've learned a multitude of dances, had incredible support and the most fun I've had pretty much anywhere. Dance itself can be almost addictive once you jump in and boy what better place to get those endorphins in while learning than at a place like this? I went from knowing virtually nothing and feeling very overwhelmed (in a good way) about any partner style dance, (I also didn't have a background in other forms of dance) and threw myself in entirely to then be at my first salsa competition a year later. I'm so glad I made that investment. I've warned lifelong friends and memories. They have knowledgeable teachers, kind staff, a wonderful space and always something fun going on. I have worked with the owner, Raul, the amazing Artem, the show stopping Yesenia, the bubbly Deana, the sassy Jackie and many others during my time there. Like most of these small theaters there are no assigned seats. The theater is comfortable, every has good seats and the seats were comfortable When entering this very small theater the lady at the front desk was very nice and friendly, confirmed that we had tickets and at one point told everybody that if they had to go to the bathroom that they have a deal with a restaurant/bar about 4 doors away, which people appeared to take advantage of as they let us in about 7:15 for a 7:30 show. Art Shulman, the writer of the play, greeted us in the lobby and was very nice. He later got on stage at the beginning of the play to explain how and why he wrote this play. The street that the theater is on has many restaurants and next time we come we'll probably find a restaurant on the street to eat and/or have a drink. The play itself was okay, two married seniors, their pregnant daughter and her husband. The four of us thought it started kind of slow but did get better after intermission. It was very nice that the actors and writer were available to chat after the play ended.

Our daughter is almost 2.5 years old and was very nervous about her very first recital which led to many tears, panicking, and a few other hiccups. Not once did an instructor or staff member leave her side, from standing right next to her on stage and dancing through the whole performance with her, to hugging and caring for her backstage and patiently waiting till I could come get her. The amount of care and encouragement across everyone was incredible and something as a parent you would hope to see happen in these stressful moments. I am so so grateful!! Beyond the recital, the front desk lady (I never remember her name, so sorry!) is always so kind and welcoming, and even more specifically Miss Leila is an outstanding dance teacher, and always kind and welcoming to the girls! I took my 4 year old daughter for an intro class with Vivian (FWIW - she needs to go to hospitality school to learn a thing or two about customer service). To start, I warned her that it was my daughter's first class and she was VERY shy, so I asked if I could sit quietly in the room to make her feel comfortable observing the other students. Vivian outright said NO. Then she showed my to the door and said my daughter could stand next to me outside the door before she walked over and shut it in our FACE. Another mother observed this and shared she had a similar experience when her daughter first joined and Vivian allowed her to sit in the room. I told her that I had asked to be availed the same opportunity by Vivian before she shut the door in my/my daughter's face and said NO. The mother was actually shocked. For the business owner - you should advise Vivian that she's dealing with CHILDREN and she's not training the next principal dancer of the NYC Ballet. Crazy and terrible. This place is a ZERO for me because of VIVIAN.
