I came here to audition and audit Marjorie's master class and I left on such a high here! How she directs is so amazing and I gravitated to her instantly. There is street parking a couple blocks down you may have to park but not too bad. So many food places nearby and a gas station. A very accessible neighborhood. It's a petite studio and a cute theatre set up! I can't wait to join the intermediate Stella Adler class here next cycle. read more

Small intimate theater in Studio City off Tujanga across from Ubatuba of S.C. with a variety of shows put together by Allen Levin. The theater is sponsored by a variety of organizations and donors and proceeds for the shows go back to the theater as well as performers. The lobby area when you walk in is cozy with some art, business info, and brochures from local businesses as well as organizations semi-affiliated with the theatre directly. The inside of the theater itself holds a fair amount of people (60 plus I believe) with four chairs in a row as well as chairs and seating for performers around the stage. Great lighting via spotlights and a gender-neutral bathroom just beyond the main stage. read more

The owner was very pushy and unprofessional! It is a cute enough theater--small and homey. The neighborhood is nice. Parking is minimal (especially in the surrounding neighborhoods with time limits). However, the owner made me pretty uncomfortable. I went to the theater a couple times. One was to watch a showcase, and the other was to inquire about the acting classes offered at the theater. The owner tried to get me to participate in his nude comedy show and a cuddling business he was trying to start. He said it was part of building intimacy in a community. He was pretty insistent I join his, and only his classes. This has not been my experience at any other theater in L.A.! read more

Never heard of Jimmy Dore before my friend Adam Remington got us tickets to the show about 4 months ago... When I scoped out the location on Skynet, Uh em ,, I mean Google of course..... I realized that the theatre was across the street from Vitellos. The overrated Italian restaurant where rumor has it Berretta shot his wife with......wait......for....... I think it was with 9mm Berretta? Btw, theres a Taco Stand on the corner of Moorpark and whatever street the theater is on that blows Vitellos like a porn star..... Alright lets get serious... Jimmy Dore,,,, I was very impressed that his comedy was more or less based on hypocrisy based divided media lies and propaganda driven by fear religion and big pharma. Also no kidding his delivery was spotless. Hes a professional... I became i huge fan.....instantly... anyone reading this, this little theaer is the only place in fcking cali you can get some really good Mexican food on the corner. Park behind in the alley "relax uh hemm" and just walk in see Jimmy Dore and Andrew Frankel ( the singing fiddler)... On Andrew Frankel the singing fiddler. Thomas Dolby of 2022. Jimmy was on topic but Andrew Frankel was the most original musician Ive ever seen im my life!!!! Anyone reading this, please just trust me and youtube Andrew Frankel the singing fiddler.... This review is about the theater and the play, "Is There Sex After Marriage?" Hmmmmmmmmmm.....Where to begin?!?! Super small space in the middle of a really cute neighborhood street. Lots of pseudo boutique-y stores and restaurants and cafés for coffee or a meal. First thing to do is get there at least 30 minutes early. They seat by number so you have to check in. The lobby is tiny, there might be enough space/chairs for 6 ppl to wait. It's hot in there, better to wait outside on the sidewalk or next door or down the street a few doors over for drinks or food. The theater itself might fit about 50 people. I didn't count exactly but I was number 28 and a little over half was full so I'm guesstimating. Close enough. The play. The play. The play. Wow. So good! Funny, witty and did I say fuuuuuuunnnnnyyyy. I don't really want to give anything away. But I will say this, you will probably laugh because you find some of it too be too real and too close to home. The comedic timing is spot on. The actors seem to be seasoned professionals and/or have been doing this play for a long time. Great place to see a live show! I have performed there many times with jimmy dore and the place is wonderful!

Yet again a friend contacted me saying he's got an extra ticket for this play tonight "It's yours if you want it". "Yeah, sure" since it was a perfect excuse to get out of the house. So I met up with a group of 15 others for dinner, then to see a play called "Electricity". This is another great little local theater for small local productions. Parking tip: Metered street parking, but if you're willing to walk a couple blocks, some of the residential streets a block off Tujunga have no parking restrictions, (note: some do). Just 58 seats and not a bad seat in the house. Good production quality, lighting, sound, etc. Fortunately they have a solid A/C system, so it was comfortable during the performance. So there you have it folks. This isn't one of my more detailed reviews, but it certainly gives you all the info you need. read more

Ok... before anyone gets mildly confused I must point out that The Two Roads Gallery and The Two Roads Theatre is one and the same. But I thought it would be best to make a separate listing for the theatre since I didn't come here for the artwork. I came here to see a play. Likes: 1. Although it seemed that the event was overbooked, the people who worked there tried best to accommodate everybody. No one was left out sitting on the floor. Cool beans. 2. Conveniently located next to a lot of places where you can eat before or after the show. Places worth noting is the Gelato Bar next door and Aroma Cafe which is a few suites down. 3. The sets were polished and well put together. It just adds to the professionalism. Dislikes: 1. No bathroom. Oh nos!! You'll have to go to Aroma Cafe to find a restroom. Things worth noting: 1. Street parking only. If you go down a block or so, you should be able to find neighborhood parking. 2. You'll be able to find discounts for your tickets on Goldstar. This theatre definitely provided a most enjoyable experience. Its convenient location provides the opportunity to make a full night of fun with the variety of eats that are around. Make it a gathering for friends or make it a date night for two... or three if you're into that kind of thing. read more

This theatre is a great space. It's new, so it's still stretching it's legs. It's clean, sterile, like an operating room on Grey's Anatomy really. And that's always a good thing. But as far as what I have to say about the theatre, is that it's functional, up to date, and if you are looking to rent a spot for something, it's DEFINITELY worth it. I'm an actor, so I like dirty old beat up couches and dusty curtains with an 80 year old history behind them lol, but this theatre is my second home, and I love it all the same and wouldn't recommend it any less as a rental space. I give Two Roads Theatre a very easy 4 out of 5 stars. read more

What a quaint little theater with a truly considerate staff! We ordered some tickets off GoldStar for the production "Is there Sex After Marriage" for my 30th birthday. The entire theater has maybe 60 seats, so a group of 8 is a fairly large group. UNFORTUNATELY, we were also a fairly LATE group! The show started at 8:00 and only PARTIAL group walked up at 8:05 .... they had basically stopped the show to wait for us/ the group of 8. After we figured out where the remainder or our group was (still some 15 minutes away) it was 8:15. I was in need of handicap seating and they were extremely accommodating for that as well as the fact that the remainder of our group would have to walk in after the production started. (They had already put off the remainder of the audience and the actors for 15 minutes and definitely needed to start the play!) They reserved the very back row for them so that they could walk in and be seated with the least amount of disturbance to everyone. Needless to say, I felt TERRIBLE!! Still do! Other than that, the seating was well placed, not a bad seat in the house. Afterwards, they even let us get on stage and take some pictures (whoops, he said to not let the stage manager know - sorry!) All in all , it was a great time and I would definitely be back! This theater is great! Such a positive energy inside. I did an Improv Comedy fundraiser there; the place was built for it. The atmosphere was perfect for Improv. Intimate and excellent acoustics, which is so important. They had the tables necessary for concessions in the lobby. The backstage area is snug, but well-equipped with a refrigerator, desks, and a nicely maintained bathroom. Allen, the owner, was a pleasure to work with. Easy to contact via phone, and he was very reasonable and clear about theater usage. All around great experience! read more

Had a fun time at the Two Roads Theatre on Friday night. Very small theatre, but you can buy your tickets on-line. I actually recommend getting your tickets a few days in advance, because the show we saw sold out. The staff was really helpful getting us ticket-holders seated. There was a big line out front hoping for the last minute no-show seats. The play was really funny, and well done. Very humorous performances. There are lots of restaurants along Tujunga within walking distance so you can eat before or after the show. Italian, Pizza, a really great coffee house, and a gelato bar. Also, plenty of street parking. I have always found a place close-by to park. I will definately go back there to see another play sometime soon. read more

Watched "Is there sex after marriage" - FUNNY, I give that a 10/10. The theater has no parking, street parking only so come earlier to find since it's in a busy area The theater has NO restroom, it is 3 doors down in Aroma Café, that I did not like other than that, the staff is nice and accommodating, the theater is small but it works. Get your tickets on goldstar like we did, it's cheaper that way and lots of places nearby to eat, nice neighborhood read more

This is a super cute theater in a nice area of Studio City. I've been to a few shows here and I've always enjoyed myself. Parking hasn't been a problem since you can park for free on many of the side streets or right on Tujunga at metered parking. The theater is a part of Tujunga Village which is made up of several cute shops and cafes; definitely worth visiting. read more

I agree with pretty much everything everyone else has mentioned about the Two Roads Theater. Very tiny venue (air conditioned), had a great time. There's lots of street parking around the neighborhoods around the theater, just be sure to park where there are NO signs telling you not to park there before/after certain hours. If you park at least one block over and down, it should be free throughout the show. Be warned, there is no theater bathroom so make sure to go before the show. Saw the premiere of Susan Isaacs's Angry Conversations with God. I haven't read the book, but we thoroughly enjoyed her show. She's very gifted and inspiring. read more

11 of us bought tickets to see It's Just Sex this past Saturday night. Awesome! The play itself was fantastic, but I wanted to review Two Roads Theatre specifically because Rick, the owner, made it so easy to come with my large party and went out of his way to make sure we all sat together. It was a full house BTW, so we would have been separated without his help. Tiny, Tiny place - but we all loved how small it was. We walked to a local bar afterward and spent time persuing the great, quaint shops - the location is perfect for a day or night out on a date, girls night, or, as in our case - a mixed crowd of 30 somethings looking for a nice night out. We all had a blast - it was truly a magical evening. Thank you Rick and to the amazing cast - we will be back!! We hit the Starlite on Tujunga & Moorpark before and after - cash only dive bar for cocktails and pool, and Henry's tacos right next to the Starlite - fun, casual and price friendly additions to round out the evening! read more

I just finished an eight-week run of my solo show a the Two Roads Theater. I'd researched several spaces on Theater Row in Hollywood. TR was so much nicer - accessible to people in Hollywood and the valley. TR is in a lovely and safe area of town, and the theater space itself has a great vibe. The new owner, Allen, takes great care of his theater. He accommodated my tech week schedule, allowed me to extend my show at short notice, and encouraged his students to come to the show. The art gallery in the lobby adds a nice element to the theater experience. I'll definitely bring my small productions back to Two Roads. read more
