We needed to arrive early (at 5 AM) because of train arrival and the hosts were very accommodating said it would not be a problem. One persistent problem with the house was the carbon monoxide alarm would go off anytime the oven would be used, and the only solution was to open windows and air the place out. Some windows are marked "do not open" as if to prevent this but it's the only way to get the piercing alarm to stop. This was a disturbance and we actually didn't mind it too much: our problem with the host happened after we returned, the host flipped out about the house and said things like the 5:00 AM arrival required them "bending over backwards," etc. This uninformed, emotional reaction broke our hearts because the early arrival was said not to be a problem, and it was disappointing that the host didn't contact us to discuss concerns before that reaction. It's a nice place but I would not recommend this as a good fit for families.

The living room and back deck look directly over the lake, and we had more than enough room for the 7 of us. We took our patio boat up and had plenty of room to park it and couldn't believe how close the boat launching areas were. Kitchen is fully loaded with all appliances, nothing like feeling at home having the availability to cook all your own meals in a spacious area. Hot tub, full laundry room, fire place, the list goes on. To top it off, I proposed to my now fiancé on the last night of our stay, she said yes! This place is truly special!

Lots of nearby swimming holes, Marinas, country stores, ice-cream etc. Hayward Flat is a Forest Service campground that has been a summer must for our family and friends for over 50 years. Everyone welcomes newcomers. Other things to do include visiting the goldmining outdoor exhibit in historic Weaverville, hiking or backpacking up into the Trinity Alps, swimming, boating or jet skiing on the lake (rentals available), relaxing at a swimming hole on one of the creeks, having a night-out at the Trinity Alps Resort Bear's Breath restaurant, and more... We've seen changes over time with some maintenance issues, but I suspect this is very common in all Forest Service campgrounds now and its a chance for us all to step-up and help--it does not tarnish the fun camping experiences with nice people a beautiful lake, backpacking, hiking, fishing and more. Nothing like meeting new people and sitting next to the fire eating s'moors.

Had to call the Weaverville Forest Station, who gave me the number of the campground management company because garbage was overflowing. They sent someone out in a pickup who told us not to leave garbage outside the garbage dumpster because of bears. Uuuhh yeah - no kidding. So..... the guy made a emergency call to the garbage company to pick up the garbage- they took the whole bin. Uhhhh. I hope they bring it back? ‍

Which suprised me when she told me she use to have a catering company. To end, if all you want to do is have somewhere to lay your head at the end of your fishing, hiking, or day at the lake with your loved one , then this is the place.

The Proprietors live next door,so you truly have the the lil B&B to relax and watch t.v.,and if you love Nature,there are birds of various species and other wildlife like Deer,and even spotted a Fox off in the distance. Showers well stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash and perfect water pressure. Kitchens have all you need to make your meals and to brew your morning cup of coffee. The creek is steps away from your cabin with several sweet spots to sit by it to listen to the rushing water while you sip your coffee. Fishing, hiking, biking, boating, or simply sitting back with friends and family surrounded by a beautiful forest. One is gently forced to relax. We can't wait until next time!

Bonanza King Resort is not accessible to anyone with physical disabilities. If you are…read moreplanning a wedding or family getaway and you want to include someone with physical limitations, this may not be the place for you. There are zero rails or ramps to enter the cabins. The entire facility lacks accessible toilets, bars to help you get up from or lower yourself onto the commode. I literally got stuck the first time I used the toilet, not being able to grab onto anything to help get up off of it. If you plan on bathing there you are out of luck. The shower in my cabin was literally 2 1/2' - 3' wide by 20" deep. No way a shower chair could fit in there, it was way too small. With only the shower head terminating from the wall, sans a hand held shower wand, it proved quite a difficult task to get clean. With zero bars to hold onto to get in, out of, or to steady oneself while within the shower. It was a quite scary ordeal worrying about slipping and falling. The doorways to the bedrooms and bathroom are not wide enough to get through with a walker or wheelchair. Within the bedrooms, there is very little clearance from the bed to the wall. Since I cannot climb stairs, the only place I could sleep was in the downstairs bedroom, or in the living room on a futon. I was left with the futon due to there being two of us with physical limitations. I needed two people to get the futon flat, suitable for sleeping. I looked in the pantry and the bedroom closet in vain, as there were not any sheets, pillows, or blankets available for the futon. The pathways around the resort are not paved so you will have to contend with gravel, compacted dirt, inclines, and grass that are not conducive and quite difficult to traverse with wheelchair, walker, etc.. The resort is quite beautiful and stunning. Other than the difficulties we had with the lack of amenities, we had a fabulous visit. It is too bad that the deficiencies limited what we could experience around the entire grounds.

Only minutes after reaching out to Johnathan for help, Wes arrived at my home and got straight to work. Within 10 minutes, he had the entire problem diagnosed and resolved. He even took the time to help me hook all my plumbing and hoses back up to my RV. Their professionalism, responsiveness, and efficiency were truly impressive. It's rare to receive quality service this quick. I'm extremely grateful for their help and highly recommend both Wes and Johnathan, thank you! Definitely 5 star service and management!

I've been here for almost two years. under new managment for the last four or five months and the change is noticeable. the day to day upkeep has become more of a priority, and the tenants personal needs seem to be an ongoing focus. finally seeing a sense of community coming from the managment and maintenance team as opposed to the sense of community coming just from the residence.
