As stupid as I thought it was I gave her a dollar and told her how ridiculous it was to charge for tap water and she BLEW UP on me! Started yelling at me and then says she's refusing service to me and to leave then throws the dollar in my face. I explain to her that I was experiencing signs of heat exhaustion and that I was getting some water and put the dollar back on the counter and picked up a cup. She then came out from behind the counter and hit my hand so hard it bent my wrist back and made the cup go flying out of my hand. She then went ballistic on me screaming in my face and waving her arms around like a lunatic then CALLS THE COPS lying to them saying I was shoplifting!! Obviously the cops didn't believe me because why would they believe a homeless person but they actually TRESSPASSED me!! Also the manager didn't care at all that this was how her employee was acting. All I know is they should be giving ME a job to make up for allowing this behavior...especially towards someone who is diagnosed with PTSD from this exact same type. of ABUSE! Was that 50 cent water cup worth the trauma that I went through because of your employee, Chevron? I didn't know your company condoned bullying and discrimination. I would not recommend going in to this location AT ALL EVER unless you pre-set your phone to record your interactions with employees.

I do have standards, barely, in that I generally only would eat at 7-11, AM/PM and Circle K. Although I did find a great place in Illinois called Casey's General Store that I would happily add to my standards list. Here is a new one to add, QuikTrip. We don't have them in California. They put my favorite, AM/PM, to shame. They are so clean and have everything that you could want from a convenience store but what really sets them apart is the made to order food (sandwiches, pizza) and their "Roller" grill. There they have a bounty of items like hot dos, egg rolls, taquitos and the like and it is fully loaded. It looks like they take great pride in their food. I have visited a handful of QT's in my travels but just got water and fuel. After a long day I was tired and ready to get food. After spending way too much time deciding I went for a Country Sausage Dog doused in cheese sauce and a Kolache. The Country Sausage Dog is what you might think it is, sausage rolled like a hot dog on a bun. It was delicious. If you like breakfast sausage you will love this treat. I classed it up by dousing it in the cheese sauce. The Kolache was next level. A spicy hot dog rolled in this sweet bread and baked. It reminded me of being a kid and making hot dogs wrapped in the Pillsbury Crescent Roll dough. Delicious! Ultimately, this place hits the mark. Friendly, clean, tons of selection and fuel. This place is a must for any road trip.

I don't know how that price is real, but I'm not questioning it. It hits every time. Grabbed a coffee too, because the latte taps (hot AND cold) are kind of elite for a gas station. Super convenient and actually good. Also, as long as the kitchen is open, you can order through the app, and they run meal deals and other promos, which makes it even easier to justify the stop. Another thing I appreciate, they're one of those designated safe meetup locations (they've got signage posted), and I've actually seen people use it to exchange items safely. That's a small thing that goes a long way. Every time I walk in, someone greets me, which stands out because there are times I don't see THEM. With me in Phoenix for a day and the rising temperatures, I had to get some cool drinks from a local store. I was only familiar with 7-Elevens, but I wanted to try out Circle K. There was a Circle K near the Super 8 Motel. I got thirsty after my day around Phoenix going from one bar, headed back to my room, and need something to sober up. The store is just like a 7-Eleven. The store sells propane and they have a Blockbuster Kiosk which seems to be popular when I drove up. In fact, I didn't see to many Blockbuster Video stores or any kind of video stores. I walked in and it had a typical setup of the soda fountain machines and cold storage areas. I got two 1 liter Arrowhead ($1.69). If you get two, its 2 for $2. Also, I got two Powerade drinks ($1.89). If you get two, its two for $2.50. I forgot that I was not in CA and there is no CRV fee. Go Arizona!! My total was $4.59. Nothing special besides the Blockbuster Kiosk machine. Oh yeah, I forgot Redbox serves most 7-Eleven. How is it CA gets the red kiosk when its a Democratic State versus Arizona getting Blockbuster blue kiosks when its a Red State...lol. On a final note, Circle K has a special on soda fountain drinks called the Thirst Buster 32oz and 44oz for only $0.79. Not freaking bad!! The Yelp Universe. Where are you traveling today?
