Ends up the property I rented offered a wine passport and we were to receive a discount. I called to confirm and they let me know the driver would apply the discount when we paid him the day of the tour. All sounded wonderful and was very clearly communicated. The tour in 2026 only went to 3 wineries. Two were just ok and one was not good. I don't think anyone on our tour purchased anything here. The time at each winery was like a typical tasting with some information on their winery. But no real information on Sonoma and Napa and the history of the area. At the end our driver had no clue on our discount and kept telling me he would get in trouble for charging me less. He insinuated I was making it all up. In the end he did honor the discount but seemed he did it as a favor not that it was a program that Platypus participates in. All in all I was disappointed in this wine tour and would no go on a platypus tour again and would not recommend them. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day. Luckily all the people on our tour were delightful so that made for a nice day.

The most expensive stop was $50 per person as they do special pricing for the trolley guests, so you do save a little over going there independently. Lunch was a delicious chicken sandwich and pasta salad with homemade cookies that we ate picnic style at a winery. It was delightful! I appreciated how attentive they were to my allergies. I would certainly recommend the wine trolley to any first time visitors to Napa! If you are a regular visitor to the area I don't know if you'd enjoy it as much.

Fortunately, everything eventually came together, and we ended up with an amazing six-day vacation, including visits to eight wineries over three days. Super friendly, super nice, and honestly a good-lookin' guy (even if he did tell us he gained 70 pounds after quitting smoking in 2019). He anticipated every single need before we even had to ask.
