You know when you come across a company that is so good at what they do, you just shake your head and wonder why more people can't be like that? It's rare when customer service is this exemplary anymore. I wish all business owners would study with Kent at Squire Livery. The man gets things DONE. His work ethic is a platinum-level service. We had a large group from two different states and Kent took us around Napa and Sonoma over two days. He knew seemingly EVERYONE who hosted us at every winery we visited. And he took photos at each stop with something like five or six of our cameras. All with a smile. (And each photo, it turns out, in focus!) First off, the car. Gorgeous. Quiet. Discrete. Understated. (If you're looking for a big boxy van or bus and a tour guide who really wants to be a stand-up comic, look elsewhere.) The car is like riding on a cloud. Second, the driver. Kent is exactly where you want him to be when you're ready to move. Never hovering, but always available. And as knowledgeable about the area as the concierge at our resort. A warm laugh, big smile and as helpful as can be about every single question we had. Our group loved him. Here's the bottom line: It is such a pleasure to not have to worry about slick roads, steep hills, CHP speed-traps or, frankly, having too much to drink and then drive. Or dinging your rental car fender on a tree or post. To be able to fully enjoy the food and drink this area offers is a huge gift. Kent is an incredibly nice guy. (One member of our party had to e-mail a file to a client, but couldn't find a way to do it. And had even given up. Kent figured it out for him. Talk about customer service.) A day with Kent is about understatement, elegance and fun under the umbrella of real safety. WELL worth the money. read more

We had a terrific experience with Kent! He was professional, knowledgeable, genuine, and so much fun to hang out with. We really didn't know where to go, how to get there, or whether we needed to make reservations for wineries and lunch. Kent took care of it all. I just gave him a sense of what type of winery atmosphere, wines we liked, our time frame, and he took care of the rest. Additionally, he took us around in a very nice Mercedes SUV instead of a lincoln town car/limo that is more common. Definitely a huge plus. I thought the price was very reasonable for what you get. After the tour, we forgot a bottle of wine in his car without realizing it. He called and arranged for it to be sent back to us in NY and even threw in a bottle of wine that I mentioned I liked. Where do I start? My wife and I were visiting Napa with a seasoned wine country couple friend. Now, prior to this recent trip, we would rent a car and traveled to wineries we researched. These would usually be "big name" "commercial" winery powerhouses. But after this recent trip, will we NEVER do that again! Why? Because once you tour Napa with Kent, you won't go back to any other tour method. Our friend would always speak highly of Kent, and we now know for ourselves that he deserves ALL that praise! Kent Higginbotham is really great at what he does!!! We have taken two trips to Yountville in the last three years and he has been wine tour guide extraordinaire!!! We just love visiting the small family wineries that he schedules like Aonair and Amizetta!!! He makes all the arrangements for the tours and lunches. Kent is an incredibly great guy to spend time with. He is funny and fun to be with and is very, very knowledgeable about wine and the Napa and Sonoma Valleys!!! We even invited him to have lunch with us at Brixe. We sat outside, had a delightful lunch with Kent and I laughed much of the time and both my husband and I throughly enjoyed it. Kent and I only disagree and that is about the ownership of guns but we just listen to each other's point of view and respect the other's opinions. And he is incredibly reasonable!! First of all, I know little about Napa and would have no idea to even start setting up winery tours. He does all the work and that is included in his fee. Another very important thing is that he is an expert driver. He takes the hills of Napa and Sonoma like the true expert he is. I just can't even imagine thinking about another Napa guide. We stay at the Villagio Spa and Hotel in Yountville and he has given many,many restaurant recommendations and he is always right on target.
