We returned to Sonoma in 2026 with a small group and booked another tour. Booking and communication was a breeze. Very good. Ends up the property I rented offered a wine passport and we were to receive a discount. I called to confirm and they let me know the driver would apply the discount when we paid him the day of the tour. All sounded wonderful and was very clearly communicated. The tour in 2026 only went to 3 wineries. Two were just ok and one was not good. I don't think anyone on our tour purchased anything here. The time at each winery was like a typical tasting with some information on their winery. But no real information on Sonoma and Napa and the history of the area. At the end our driver had no clue on our discount and kept telling me he would get in trouble for charging me less. He insinuated I was making it all up. In the end he did honor the discount but seemed he did it as a favor not that it was a program that Platypus participates in. All in all I was disappointed in this wine tour and would no go on a platypus tour again and would not recommend them. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day. Luckily all the people on our tour were delightful so that made for a nice day.

When our ship was delayed getting into port, our carefully planned day suddenly had to change. Nick immediately pivoted, adjusted our schedule and helped rearrange the day so we could still have an amazing Napa experience. He truly went above and beyond. Instead of making us feel stressed about the lost time, Nick handled everything and made sure we could simply relax and enjoy ourselves. He was professional, incredibly personable, knowledgeable about Napa Valley and genuinely cared about making our day special. The vehicle was beautiful, comfortable and immaculate, and the level of service was exactly what you would expect from a luxury private tour -- actually, even better. We travel frequently and have used many private drivers and tour companies, and Nick is one of the best we've ever had. What really sets him apart is his willingness to adapt when things don't go according to plan. Anyone can provide a great tour when everything runs perfectly; Nick proved how valuable he is when it didn't. If you're looking for a private driver or luxury wine-country tour in Napa or Sonoma, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Nick and Perata Luxury Tours. We will absolutely use him again. Five stars isn't enough!

Hands Down the Best Driver in Napa Valley!…read more I discovered George on Yelp, and after comparing other Napa car services--many quoting well over $1,000 for wine tours--it's clear why his customers rave about him. His reviews truly say it all! There were plenty of reasons we chose George over the rest. From our very first contact, George was incredibly responsive and communicative. I had a party of 10 (6 adults and 4 kids) for my husband's 40th birthday celebration and needed a vehicle that could securely accommodate a car seat with a latch system--his car was absolutely perfect. He arrived right on time, greeted us warmly, and was super easy to talk to. Throughout the day, George consistently arrived within minutes at each of our destinations. He didn't just drop us off--he guided us to the exact entrances and exits of every winery, making the whole experience smooth and stress-free. On top of that, he shared insightful feedback about why each winery is special, adding a whole new level of appreciation to our tour. Another bonus, he provided water in an iced cooler and white glove door service! What really stood out was George's impressive local knowledge. Without even needing navigation, he expertly drove us from Petaluma to Napa while sharing fascinating stories and history about the wineries, estates, and the region itself. If you want a professional, friendly, affordable, and knowledgeable driver for your Napa experience, George is your guy! Highly recommend and would easily book him for our next trip!

His level of hospitality was exceptional, and he made coordinating transportation for our group so easy. On our first day, we had Glenn as our driver, and he was absolutely wonderful! He was so sweet, personable, and welcoming. From the moment he picked us up at our Airbnb, he gave us a little tour of the area and shared things with us along the way to our first winery. By the end of the day, Glenn genuinely felt like part of the party! On day two, Jeff was our driver, and it was so nice to finally meet him in person after communicating with him beforehand. He was just as kind and hospitable in person, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. I'm extremely grateful to both Jeff and Glenn for taking such great care of us throughout the weekend. Having reliable, friendly transportation made our Napa trip that much more enjoyable and allowed all of us to relax and have fun without worrying about a thing. 10/10 experience! I would absolutely contact Napa Wine Tour Guides again if I return to the area and would happily recommend them to anyone looking for transportation for a Napa wine trip. I loved that they plan the day for you so all you have to worry about is getting to the trolley in the morning. We went to 4 wineries and we really enjoyed them. I would definitely go to most of them again independently. The guides at each winery were knowledgeable and I definitely learned a lot. The most expensive stop was $50 per person as they do special pricing for the trolley guests, so you do save a little over going there independently. Lunch was a delicious chicken sandwich and pasta salad with homemade cookies that we ate picnic style at a winery. It was delightful! I appreciated how attentive they were to my allergies. I would certainly recommend the wine trolley to any first time visitors to Napa! If you are a regular visitor to the area I don't know if you'd enjoy it as much.

The experience is unique and the train itself is a novelty worth appreciating at least once. Service was funny, quick and very informative , telling us about the area, they did a wonderful job handling our large party. However when I think Napa I think wine tasting hopping between venues, exploring different wineries and really immersing yourself in what the valley has to offer. So make time to do both! The Wine Train doesn't quite deliver that and the views from the dome were honestly just okay. For the price point I think the better Napa experience is booking a private driver and hitting multiple venues at your own pace. You get more wine, more variety and a fuller picture of what Napa actually is. No regrets! just a one and done for me.

It was a gloomy rainy day but I still enjoyed myself. First off the lobby area is great, check in is smooth and they have a cool 360 operator that you can take videos on! The food is upscale and could use seasoning in my opinion. But still good. You get 4 courses. Breakfast, Dinner (refer to pic of menu), a cheese course, and a Dessert course. Look - Beef or Chicken- delicious- you cant go wrong and pick the creme brulee as Dessert. If you drink wine (and i mean DRINK WINE) you will absolutely get the bang for your buck. But if youre just there for vibes maybe spring for the lesser price ticket. We stopped at 2 wineries. The last had an Italian market with snacks and sandwiches. The tours itself were informative but wouldnt say fun. Personally wish they had a later start time. The check in starts at 945a and we were done by 4:30p. I feel like my group was tired and took us a minute to get into it. It also rained. But didnt stop our group from dancing in it and the employees joined in which was amazing!! I'll be honest: the planning phase started off a little strange. Molly was my point of contact, and then she suddenly disappeared from the process. Fortunately, everything eventually came together, and we ended up with an amazing six-day vacation, including visits to eight wineries over three days. But the real highlight -- the reason this is a 5-star review -- is Terry. Terry was amazing. Super friendly, super nice, and honestly a good-lookin' guy (even if he did tell us he gained 70 pounds after quitting smoking in 2019). He anticipated every single need before we even had to ask. He brought us breakfast when we were too lazy to get out of bed. He brought us pizza when we were too exhausted to make it to our dinner reservations. He's charismatic, charming, and funny as can be. Even on Thanksgiving Day, he made us feel important and cared for -- you'd never know he was missing a holiday with his own family and friends. He took great photos, insisted on making us feel special at every stop, and truly elevated our entire trip. And the best part? He refuses to accept more than an 8% tip. (Kidding... mostly.)
