A good decade ago, I used to frequent this Cineplex that is a smidge south of Eglinton Avenue East, just west of Warden. I spent a number of Sundays picking up a friend at his home in East York. We'd head up here for either a movie first, followed by dinner, or vice-versa. Back then, this Cineplex wasn't well-kept. I remember being disgusted with the women's washroom. Things have definitely improved! I recently came back here to take in Depeche Mode's Spirits in the Forest flim. It played at a handful of Cineplex theatres. The closest one from my home was this one. I bought a ticket weeks ago. Well, I really used my Scene points to score a free movie and am thankful that I did. I got here at 6:30 pm, half an hour before the film was expected to start. I got a decent parking spot steps away from the entrance on a rainy Thursday evening and walked in. The Poptopia popcorn looked enticing. I stood there, looking at the flavours. I wasn't hungry, though. I opted to go inside. I got my ticket scanned off my phone through the Cineplex app by a nice man. Pretty much everyone was going into theatre 8. The seats are roomy. I had a good view of the screen. I was nearly sitting in the centre of a row, roughly four rows above the main pathway. I played TimePlay. I joined in rather late. I ended up being second out of three people. To me, that's a miracle! The film was great. When there was concert footage, I felt like I was there. The picture was crisp. The sound was excellent. I enjoyed hearing stories from fans who flew into Berlin to watch the band almost two years ago. I used the women's washroom. Things have improved! Everything was clean and the floor wasn't sticky. Yay! I liked looking at the arcade games. I rarely have time to play them. One of these days, I will. Although Markham and Richmond Hill are my go-to Cineplex theatres, simply because they are close to where I reside, this one is not a bad alternative. It may not be in a mall but it definitely is in the middle of a prime area along Eglinton East in Scarborough. It's close to McDonald's, Burrito Boyz, Five Guys, Smith Brothers, Dollarama and Dollartree, Walmart, Petsmart, Starbucks, Mandarin Restaurant, Staples, Bath and Body Works, Al Premium, Canadian Tire, DSW shoes, Winners, etc.... It's just as good as going to any mall. Cineplex Odeon Cinemas has 1 DBOX Screen, 7 (3D) Screens, 1 UltraAVX Screen, 16 regular screens, and 2 play rooms (for parties). They keep the theatres clean and they have comfy chairs. Lots of food and drink options besides the typical theatre choices. There's an Outtakes, Yoyo's yogurt cafe (which also serves a limited selection of Starbucks drinks) and Poptopia Gourmet Popcorn. You can find people from all walks of life in all different shades of colors here. It's a microcosm of real life - noisy, loud and sometimes hilarious. However they are quiet and respectful during the showing of the movies. There are discounts for Seniors and children 13 and below. All tickets (adults, children and seniors) are discounted down to $7.50 on Tuesdays (3D and UltraAVX excluded). If you want to avoid the lines you can order online or at the kiosks at the front left side of the lobby, also avoid the opening showings of new movies (unless you like fighting the crowds). You know.. it's one of those mega-lo-plexes. It's got a bunch of theaters.. you get your AVX, 3D, DBoxes, IMAX. It's been slowly getting dirtier and dirtier through the years. I know they've cut back on staff quite a bit, now replacing humans with kiosks too. But I guess I'm ordering more and more from my app, so that doesn't matter as much to me. Decent amount of parking. It was my first time visiting this cinema since I moved around the area. It's kind of big with many theatres IMAX, 3D box etc. I came on Tuesday for Aladdin, really impressed that not crowded at all, perhaps because of the raining weather. I think that I will visit more frequently for Tuesday specials. One thing I really shocked that people just left food and trash in theatre after watching the movie. Is this normal? I finally decided to see Black Panther after most of the hype is dying down. Read the reviews and watched the trailers. This cinema is very large and has several large theatres. Ticket purchases are done through self-service machines or on-line in advance so don't expect any attendant to aid you if you're not used to following prompts on a screen. You can sense annoyed people behind you if you mess up! There is a large sitting area to consume food while waiting for your movie to begin or to pick up family members after a flick. Concession food prices are higher than if you went to an actual food place. Heck, just enjoy the time out! read more

I have been a frequent movie goer at this theatre for the last couple of years, since it's close to work. It's conveniently a large plaza with lots of neighbouring restaurants and shopping. I usually come here for their Tuesday special, and it's never to overwhelmingly busy. It's super clean, and the staff are so friendly. As soon as you walk in, there is the regular concession, as well as a Froyo Kiosk. I would definitely recommend buying you tickets online to save you some time, If you have a SCENE card, you can also earn extra SCENE points by buying on your phone. The only thing that is slightly annoying is the reclining seats, they move back so easily, it's hard to sit upright at all. Side note, They do have an IMAX Theatre here, but it is not a true IMAX, so you may be a little disappointed. read more

Things I love about this location is that there's so much happening here (woot woot!) but without the crowds like Scarborough Town Center. It's still a little small compared to other places which is more evident when the club goes up on a Tuesday. This theater usually has most of the new releases and also offers special films that Cineplex has from time to time (i.e. Classic film series). It's also surrounded by eateries in case you want to grab a bite before/after a movie or plenty of outlets if you want to shop. Check out the Dollarama for a cheap snack to munch on during the movie. For such a big theatre/'corporation', you'd think they would definitely have their shit together. Not. Came here the first time to watch godzilla and it was PACKED.. seriously, never seen so many people in one movie theatre.. it was crowded and felt like I was stuck in a vaughan mills nightmare on boxing day more than a movie theatre. The theatres are standard.. not much special about them but I guess they're not as grimy as most, so that's okay. Second time I came here, it was for terminator genisys because that movie is too good to show in any of the regular theatres I guess.. we had to watch it in ultra AVX and honestly.. what's the difference? Ok.. we get to choose our own seats? Is that it? Honestly I don't notice a slight difference in normal movies and ultra avx. Is it worth the price difference? Probably not. The staff working the food stands are slower than anything in life. There was only 1 person in front of me and ordering one item took 6 minutes.. and that's not including the time waiting for it. Everybody seems to be working in slow-mo here. Ew. Shoutout to the theatre for having more food choices than usual though. + a starbucks (only has grande/tall drinks) and a yogen fruz. read more

Located in Scarborough I have been a frequent movie goer at this theatre. It's located conveniently (for me) in a large complex that also houses some restaurants and stores (Old Navy, Danier, Canadian Tire..etc). I find this theatre much cleaner in comparison to the one at Fairview or Scarborough Town centre and it can get crowded but I find still not as bad as the theatres that are attached to a mall. You can buy online, at the kiosks in the front or line up and have a real person (gasp!) help you. The concession stand is typical of others and there is a little arcade/kid play area as well. I believe there are 12 screens here. Nothing outstanding but overall my go to. read more

I really like this cinema. It's clean, has tons of free parking, always has the movies I want to see, plus the people that go there tend to be slightly more mature than some of the other cinemas I've been to, which is probably because of where it's located - lot's of retirees in the area. There's also lots of other shops nearby so it's quite convenient. It doesn't have much to do outside of the movies themselves (there is a little video game arcade though) but that is a good thing in my opinion since it probably plays a small part in the relative lack of juvenile behavior you will experience at the cinema. My only gripe is that confections are expensive, and so are the movie tickets, but I can't really fault this particular cinema too much for that because other cinemas have similar prices. read more

When my husband and I go to the movies, I really like coming to this theatre, it's clean, very spacious (lots of leg room that is), and there are plenty of food vendor choices. The movie we came to see today is the Transformers, the add on tv looked awsome, so lets hope it's as good as it claims to be and the big question is, can Mark Walhburg fill Shia Labeouf's shoes? As usual, I must start by saying that I don't go out to the movies much these days. While this is partly because many popular movies don't appeal to me enough to pay $12+ to see, it is also partly because most of the big newer cinemas are all noise and advertising and video games. Having said that, I will add that I don't mind going to the Cineplex Odeon at Eglinton Town Centre if my movie choice is playing there. As the closest cinema to my home, I have gone probably half-dozen times over the past few years. While it does have the big cinema drawbacks that I don't like, I have done fairly well going on a discount Tuesday night to see one of the big movies while it's near the end of its first run. Tuesday admission price is $7.99, and I think it is $12.99 on other nights, and there are 16 screens that show mostly the big first-run films. Such was my visit last Tuesday when I went to see the latest X-Men film, Logan. The cinema in general was not too crowded for the late shows, and my auditorium was more than half-empty since the movie had been out for a while. I was able to walk in, purchase my ticket from an automated terminal, and head straight for the movie, bypassing all of the other distractions. The cinemas themselves are very good, showing all the up-to-date formats on large screens with excellent sound. The one drawback that I cannot overcome is that it is situated way at the back of a large big-box plaza, so it's a good 5min walk from the TTC stop. Incidentally, I have more than once seen a few geese strolling about on the grass islands in the parking lot. Overall, I would choose this cinema over most of the large noisy downtown ones, making it one of my top 2-3 choices for wide-release films. read more

In the last week, I have come here twice to watch a movie, which is weird because it's not my usual stomping ground. In a large shopping complex, you can find a lot of free parking on site. There are also a couple of restaurants within walking distance so you can grab something before or after your film. The first time I came here it was a Saturday night and the theatre was packed; however, it was the same way on Tuesday night as well. Where are all these people coming from?! Because of all the patrons, line ups are long. The kiosks that I tried to use (on both visits) were functioning, but then couldn't print my tickets so I ended up going into the long line up to get my tickets. This place could be a little more efficient as it's always packed here. As for the price of tickets, it's the same everywhere so I can't really comment on that. A good location that is close to a lot of eating places and lots of parking available. The staff here have always been really nice and try their best to help in any way they can. Always make sure that you double check where you were. It's a shame to lose things... Have been coming to this theatre for over 10 years it feels like, and have seen so many movies growing up! I wouldn't say the theatre gets super crowded but it does have its busy times. Their Starbucks...I mean imitation Starbucks *cough* is a sad place to get coffee. That would be the only negative I would say of this location. The other foods are pretty standard, the game arcade is a good place to kill time but a big money grab. They may have a small selection of movies however they offer a lot of day time specialty movies too. There are films for everyone to watch here. read more

Been coming here since I was in high school and my opinion of it still hasn't changed, maybe I love it so much because of nostalgia, but even if I want to go into super picky mode, then I've never had a single problem with this place. Whenever I want to go out to watch a movie, this is always the first place I consider. Pretty sure no one cares about this, but I still even remember the very first movie I watched here in this location with a couple of friends. It was Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay. Nice, small location. If your movie happens to not be showing at Shops at Don Mills or the time happens to not be right, you can always check out this theatre which is just about 10 minutes away. Never heard of this location until a friend showed me. If I was to come here, I would def not come here for one of the opening days, but perhaps watch a movie that's been out for a while. The movie theatre we were in was compact and the chairs were quite wobbly. I felt like I was rocking the entire time. I decided to order some poutine for the movie. Little did I know the service was slower than expected and they had no signage saying which cashiers were open/close so it could've been more organized. Apparently, if you order hot food, not only did you have to wait in line to order your food, they'll issue you a ticket order number and you have to wait for your order to be call at another area. The food did take a while. On the plus side, since the theatre is small, nobody was really playing time play so it's like free scene points just for opening up and attempting to play. read more

I like this Cineplex. We went to see Star Trek Into Darkness here on a Saturday & it was not crowded. The place was clean, laid out well too. There wasn't a ridiculous amount of wasted space like in some movie theatres. Also parking was plentiful & we got a handicapped spot right near the door (my father uses a cane & has trouble walking). I was a little miffed though that the playtime server wasn't working so I couldn't earn more scene points. Other than that, we would come to this movie theatre again. read more

We went to see Thor in their new "IMAX" theatre. Make no mistake, this is NOT the IMAX you know and love. The experience was hardly different than a standard digital 3D movie. The projection was sub-par, not crisp/clear as you'd expect. The depth in the 3D was very weak, scenes that should have been in your face seemed more like offset 2D panels due to the short depth of field. Sound is only from 3 central points (2 rear and behind the screen) and didn't provide that feel it in your gut oomf you expect from IMAX. The lack of curved screen also meant the edges blurred if you shifted even slightly. The seating, while new, was also sub-par. Chairs were smaller than normal for IMAX, less leg room, and the rise was the same as a regular theatre so the person in front of you could obstruct your view if they leaned forward. In no way did it live up to the IMAX experience you've come to expect. read more

This theatre overall is better than the Cineplex by Morningside & 401 but isn't as good as the one at Scarborough Town Centre. The screens are great in size, the seats are comfortable, there's tons of parking, and the prices aren't super inflated like the theatres downtown. What bothered me is the employee I had when purchasing my tickets took her job way too serious. I always order 2 tickets separately to get double Scene Points since when you order 2 tickets on the same bill, it doesn't give you double scene points. I've never had a problem doing this with any employee at other Cineplex theatres until i went to this one. No offense but I don't think anyone earning minimum wage should take their jobs that serious. read more

I don't know why I bother coming to this cineplex. The female at the cash was so rude to me and my grandson when we went to see Aquaman last Saturday afternoon. I had gift cards to redeem and she was very curt and sarcastic because I couldn't get the self serve machine to work. Her comment was "it's not my fault you're inpatient. Wow what a terrible attitude when you're supposed to be working with customers. I asked for her name because I was going to complain to the manager about her bad attitude and she retorted "I don't have to give you my name". So let me say this will be my last visit to this theatre. The staff working behind the concession seem to be untrained and are quite slow. Other cineplex theatres are way better. Usually clean and staff is usually friendly. Prices are for sure very overpriced but the combo with a hot dog, a drink, nachos and candy for $11 is a great deal. Not usually busy. Mini melts machine is not as good as dippin dots. What should be dots are like little clunks of ice cream. Starbucks is interesting? The wife and I are here to catch a matinee movie, the only thing to remember is the earlier you come during the day the more apt your to have families here rather than an adult atmosphere. We love coming to this theater, it's usually always clean (no sticky floors), the food options are numerous(burgers, nachos, hot dogs, yogen fruz and GOOD COFFEE! Aswell as your usual popcorn, chocolate etc. Theaters are very spacious and the bathrooms are clean, we'll definitely be back not only because it's a theater near us but namely because they take pride in caring about proper customer care and statisfaction. read more

Came here before dinner to watch the new Kevin Hart movie. It was super busy for an early Saturday afternoon. Found a pretty close spot to park which can be really hard. Our theatre wasn't very packed but I figure most people would want to see this movie in the evening as it's a romantic comedy. Their Internet wasn't working well and I couldn't connect to time play which I was very sad about. I love to play before the movies. Then when the previews started there was no audio for five minutes. My date had to go find someone to let them know. It was fine after but just a bit cold in the theatre. I would only come back if it was nearby to where I was going, otherwise I'll stick to stc or Morningside. read more

My entire family fell sick eating spoiled and rotten food sold by outtakes on 6th May 2017 when we went there to watch Guardian of the Galaxy 2 at 2:20 pm. We purchased beef chilly poutine and mac and cheese wedges. I complained to the supervisor Julie and let her smell the spoiled poutine but she did not take the complaint seriously. My son, wife and daughter started vomiting right after coming home and spent entire night sick. Dont buy any food from this place if you care about yourself and your family.
