Imagine all the people, comfortably spaced out at the quiet movie theatre. Imagine Cinemas offers the same big screen showings at a smaller independent venue. This theatre has been around and the most unique aspect is its comfortable leather recliner seats that are well-spaced apart. Just reserve near the front rows for the big screen experience. The theatre visitors are sparse and tickets can be ordered online ahead of time, before pickup at the gates. The screen is bright although it has a slight reflection during bright scenes. We do enjoy the convenience of coming to this theatre. This spot does have its quirks including the iffy restroom reviews & age-insensitive horror flick poster near the first auditorium. But all-in-all I'll be back for another movie night. read more

Having never been to an imagine cinema before, I didn't really know what to expect and was very , very pleasantly surprised. I went with my family, and found it odd that they brought blankets but learnt to not question them , and soon everything made sense. The reclined seats were the comfiest ever, and I almost fell asleep had it not been for the full on horror film playing on the screen in front of me. Super comfy and feels just like it would at home but with a cinema screen. This branch is super clean, everyone is really friendly and they always have great movies showing. But don't judge a book by its cover, the theatre room itself was clean, and had AMAZING large recliner seats. It's been many years since I've gone to a theatre to watch a movie, so I don't know if this is the norm. Pricing was so cheap. Adults $8. So worth it. Screen not as huge as cineplex, sound was decent enough for $8. Definitely worth it especially if it's going to a kids movie. read more

I have been here at least twice now. I recently came here with my family to watch some latest movies. When we tell you that it was like sitting at home, I mean it was as if you were at home. The seats were luxurious. Felt premium and was thoroughly cleaned. Not only that, but the seats could recline. The sound was stellar and well spaced around the movie. The food was great, the popcorn was salted and there was even an own butter station. The drinks were average, however not too many options for the fountain. The tickets were reasonably priced and fairly easy to purchase. Unlike Cineplex which were to cost you 30$ for around two adults. Overall, it was an amazing experience getting to be an apart of this Cinema. read more

Do you like watching movies in a theatre with the faint scent of piss? Then this is the theatre for you. It is constantly disgustingly dirty. Also this theatre attracts those that like to talk during movies and the one person working there is not about to do anything about that. It's like trying to watch a movie in a dirty, loud subway station complete with the smell of pee. This place needs a wrecking ball and a complete rebuild with competent people. read more

This is now going to be my go to theatre, sorry Cineplex! I usually opt for VIP at Cineplex because it's more comfortable but Imagine's seating is even better and only half the price! You can choose your seats when you're purchasing tickets online so no need to get to the theatre in advance to grab good seats. They don't play too many trailers before the movie (but I actually like the previews lol). Tons of parking. The reclining seats are my weakness and I felt like I was watching the movie in my own bed. Sooo comfortable. NGL, I even brought my blanket scarf. I expected it to be cold, because Cineplex usually is, but it was actually (too) warm in the theatre. I liked that the seats were also wiped down immediately after we got up so that's nice. The screen is smaller but that doesn't bother me because the auditorium is also smaller. But because it's smaller, you can clearly hear people coming into the movie if they're late. Only knocked off a star for the bathrooms. Smelled like cleaning products when I went in so I thought it would be clean, and the toilets were, I guess.. but the washroom in general was just not looked after. Floor was gross and paper towels were overflowing onto the floor. I'll just make a mental note not to use the restrooms here next time :D read more

When I first came to Canada, I always went to this cinema to watch movies. They have these kind of couch seats where you can just lie down and watch. But the downside of this kind of seat is that if there's no one in front of you, you can block your view. I have never been more disappointment than I've been within a 5 minute interaction. This lady with the black hijab woke up today and decided to hate the world and everyone in it. When me and my friends came she was hostile from the start and was giving us a lot of attitude. Telling us to hurry up constantly, rolling her eyes, and wouldn't serve us popcorn after she just served it to half of our friends claiming it was "now old". When the same batch of popcorn was right behind her. She was straight up rude, unprofessional and has no care for costumer service. Ok so let's start this off by saying that you can't expect VIP level service when paying a less than regular price ticket. So don't walk in here thinking you'll grab a beer and a nice dinner while you watch your movie in a fancy heated chair. But --. Think of it this as you got a steal on a movie ticket and you got some really nice reclining chairs!! And your usual popcorn stand outside in the concession area where the price for popcorn will never make sense and you'll get it anyway cause it's a night off. Screens here are okay and seats are great. Cleanliness could honestly be improved and that's where my one star disappeared. The floor is often sticky when I've gone and I worry how sticky the seats actually are or if they clean them between shows. I do wish they had a bit more to offer at the concession stand but at the same time, you save all the money you don't spend right? Parking is a bit of a night mare in the cold/rainy days, but there's a big lot. It's just the road is designed in a way that cars don't flow in and out nicely. People are also treating the road like a kiss n go. Heck if you like the seats and you aren't looking for imax quality, this is going to be the place to go. read more

That's literally all I care about when I go to the movie theatres--RECLINING ON THAT CHAIR! The downside is that they don't serve food or alcohol but who needs that when you get to RECLINEEEE!!! Need I say more? Come here to REEEECCCCCLLLLIIINNNNEEE!!! I ordered my tickets online and was able to reserve my seats. I couldn't believe that it only costs $12, which includes tax, for an adult ticket--this is like half the cost of Cineplex VIP. Also, when I ordered online, they didn't have any handling fee that I had to pay for ordering online so this is pretty AWESOME!! Other theatres require you to pay a handling fee per ticket, where I might as well drive to the theatre and just buy the tickets in person. One thing I did notice is that there aren't a lot of trailers prior to the movies. My movie start time was 3:50pm and by 3:58pm, the movie proper started rolling. So if you're someone that count on the trailers and arrive late to the movie theatres, I will encourage you to arrive "earlier" so you don't miss the start of the movie. I didn't order any concession at the theatre because I had dinner plans after but the concession pricing is comparable to other locations. Imagine Cinemas is going to be my new go-to movie theatre. It is very unusual for me to have an urge to write a review right after I have patronized a business. When I do, as in the case of Imagine Cinemas, there is no way in the world it is less than a 4 stars rating. The basics: I visited Imagine yesterday (Tuesday) evening to watch an Avenger movie. It was a busy evening. Even so, the services I received was fast and friendly. The open areas, the ladies washroom and the cinema I was in were clean. The interior looks dated and can use a refurbishment here and there. Still, the "good" mentioned below far outweighs the "bad" here. Oh the seat, my love: Many have said, and I would reiterate, that the seats are powered recliners. The seat was wide, as in I put my handbag in the space between my right thigh and the right armrest, and there was spare room between my left thigh and the left armrest. The cushion was soft, yet the back and seat had good support. I tilted the recliner and put my feet up for 2.5 hours. I honestly have never been this relaxed and well rested after watching a long movie. Movie selection: they DO carry the latest and current movies. Sight and sound: The screen is not as big as Cineplex, but I won't call it small either. It is sufficient for an action/Sci-Fi/special effect movie, and the sound system is good (really, seriously, as in it shatters my ill-placed bias). But no if you are looking to be completely engulfed in a movie, or a 3-D experience, Imagine doesn't have it. Personally, I don't enjoy 3-D movies or a vibrating chair, nor do I care to pay $17 for them. Show me the money (and the convenience): Ticket prices for adults are $12 regular and $8 Tuesday (2018 pricing). All seats are by reservation. No more paying $14 and still have to line up for 30 minutes for a good seat, or any seat as in the case of any hit movie. I chose my seat online, paid by credit card, picked ticket up at the cinema, then parked my behind in the pre-selected seat. No fuss, no line up, no guess work. Zero. If you prefer, you can still buy tickets at the box office counter. Food: The snack prices are okay. They are not street prices, but they are not highway robberies either. For reference, I bought a slush for $4.5. I didn't order popcorn, but for those who care, their popcorn is dairy free. One last thing: unless you dinner is popcorn and snacks, no you cannot order your lunch and dinner here. read more

Is this location perfect? Nope, but I also love coming here. Firstly, the idea of being able to reserve your seating ahead of time saves so much headache. And those seats are recliners? Jackpot! Their seats are admittedly very comfy and spacious - having come here for movies, I don't really enjoy going back to SilverCity as much anymore! This location itself is quite quiet during the day and gets busy in the evenings or weekends but I thoroughly enjoy this. This means the theatres are not usually packed (unless you're walking something brand new) which gives you a more relaxing vibe. The staff has always been quite friendly, and my only critique is that they aren't always the most diligent with cleaning. I've witnessed some staff members only cleaning what the eye can see, which isn't much when you're in a dimmed theatre. However, I've only had 1-2 incidences where my reserved seat has been buttered up and dirty to the point that I grabbed a wipe from my bag and gave it a good wipe down. This leads me to speak about the washroom - again, not the cleanest, but doable. I do appreciate their paper towel dispensers though - it means I do not have to touch anything after I've cleaned my hands and they leave a garbage can right behind the door meaning I can use the paper towel to open the doors and toss my garbage right after - a seemingly small detail but these matter. It's not only great for their customers but saves them the clean up of your usual pile of paper towels behind the door. Pro-tip: there is almost never anyone at the counter for you to purchase your tickets upstairs. Just purchase them online - it's safe, fast, easy and saves time as well. read more

Yeah, I'm really not impressed with this place at all. We walked in for a matinee to see Arrival (If you like sciency and cerebral films, then see it). There was a sign for us to go buy our tickets from the Concession stand and not the box office. Uncommon, but I get it, you guys aren't as busy so you would be in the evenings. We went down to the concession stand and the girl behind the counter was one of the grumpiest people I had ever met. God forbid I ask about different offer and what is and isn't included in their offerings! We then entered an empty theater and of course we pick the seats with no top to the arm rests (classy!). The pre show was lame and I wasn't engaged as I am accustomed to, if the pre show isn't any good then don't throw anything up, it's just not worth it. I then popped out to grab more snacks, and there was no one there. I waited and waited until I was noticed by one of the two staff hanging out in the managers office. When did we get so spoiled? So spoiled that a movie needed to be viewed from stadium style seating, in 3D, with the biggest sound, and might I add the biggest ticket price to match? What ever happened to enjoying a movie simply for the love of cinema? Well, I'll tell you what happened, it still lives and breathes here at Rainbow Cinemas Elgin Mills. A place where you can sit in a normal seat, still get the experience of seeing a movie, eating the exact same popcorn and soda you pay double for at larger theatres - and at the end of the day that same movie only costs you $5 on certain cheaper evenings. Layer on the nostalgia factor that I can still remember being in the 8th grade when this theatre was built and used to be a Cineplex Odeon and I'm hooked all over again. While it may be a ways away from where I live now, when I'm in the area again now, this will be the place I stop at for a movie! read more

You can order your tickets online and snag the seat of your preference. Even if you purchase your tickets at the theatre, you still select your seats. This helps you avoid the frustration of entering a theatre and realizing there are no two seats together or that the only seats available are in the front row. The snack and refreshment options are the standard ones you'll expect to see - popcorn, chocolates, gummies, candies, and your basic fountain sodas. This theatre doesn't offer any proper dining options or snack alternatives like frozen yoghurt. One downside of this theatre is that it plays less movies than some other theatres. While it'll have the top blockbusters, it may be missing some of the more serious/indie/alternative flicks that you'll find at other theatres. read more

I haven't been to a movie for a very long time. First time going here. Lots of parking in a nearby lot, handicap parking close to entrance. The place was organized and clean. Washrooms were clean !! The pre seating concept is awesome!! And the leg room and elbow room is amazing! As I said, I haven't gone to a movie theater for awhile, and in my mind is still the tight seating with barely any elbow room, and when some one has to leave the aisle everyone has to get up. 5stars for this theatre! Rainbow Cinema is good if you looking for a simple neighborhood style movie night. Here you might not get the newest or latest movie technologies but at $5 Tuesday, $7 Matinee and $9 regular prices, I am not complaining! They still showing the new release movies anyway. This is my go to cinema. They've recliners which is the best thing ever! They also got $8 on Tuesdays. Steal! Super spacious super clean. Big parking lot you could get lost in. Pretty much the best cinema in the area, we're not from the area but we'd drive 25 mins just to catch the recliners seat because they're super comfortable and clean. Definitely recommend. First of all, tickets are $11. With seat reservations. At first, from the outside it looked kind of small and sketchy, but I wanted to give it a chance, since I've driven past it a few times. I was pleasantly surprised how awesome this theatre is. Concession is very fairly priced - support the theatre and get some snacks here. The theatre seating itself is amazing. It has power reclining leather seats that are super roomy. You can snuggle up in the seat/sit however you want and be comfortable during the movie. The HUGE plus of the seating is that there is so much room in the row that even with the leg rests up, people can walk by to go to the bathroom/their seat without you having to get up for that awkward body slide where it feels like if you accidentally touch each other you're going to burst into flames. This is how theatres should be like. Why am I paying $15+ a person at Cineplex for a sardine-in-a-can experience when I can just go here? New go-to place for movie night. read more

This has been my go to cinema for the past 3-4 years; I have watched it change from Rainbow to Imagine cinemas. Before the switch it was always empty; the seats were just regular theatre seats, it was never busy. Which was nice; because it was like having your own personal cinema down the road. Since imagine cinemas bought it; they installed reclining chairs which are really comfy; updated the lobby a bit HOWEVER ticket prices have stayed the same. Since the change over; the theatre has been given a fresh breathe of air. It is almost ALWAYS rammed now; I've noticed a 200% increase in teenagers (especially on Friday nights). It's a local hangout (..again). Before what use to be a nice quiet get away to your private screening has now become every other cinema with loud; sometimes obnoxious teenagers; who can more so than not; ruin your movie. That being said; the crew here deal well with complaints; the tickets are cheap and it still beats any grossly overpriced cineplex theatre (both in ticket prices and at the concession stand) read more

Similar to the Promenade Imagine Cinema in Thornhill, it has been retrofitted with reclining seats, which are wonderful. Theaters are small and seating is reserved. Not a place to see a blockbuster action movie in 3D, but much better for watching a regular drama or comedy. Tickets are lower in price than Cineplex. The outside of the theatre and the surrounding mall could use a bit of upkeep. I think they could also improve their revenues if they installed a coffee bar along with the usual popcorn and soda refreshments. read more

What a great place to see a movie! The lower admission fees and the luxerious extra wide reclining seating is a real treat! All the rows give great views of the movie screen, even the front row in a pinch. The screens in some of the theatres are the small ones left over from old cineplex days, but the seating makes up for the size, at least for me. Popcorn, candy and drinks are the usual steep movie theatre captive audience prices. On the eventing we visited the toilets were filthy, it looked like they weren't cleaned for days. They recently installed reclining seats in all theatres so you can stretch your legs completely and still enough space for people to walk pass you easily. They also implemented reserved seating at the same time. Both of these features are available without any extra cost. Their ticket price is cheaper than Cineplex, and Cineplex started scheduling only AVX or 3D during popular times, making their actual prices even higher. No such shenanigan here. The theatres are smaller and reclining seats heavily reduce their capacity, but it makes intimate setting. Aided with comfortable seating, it really offers movie watching experience that can't be found at home. Staff are always super friendly too and concession prices are reasonable (though they don't have Coke, only Pepsi). read more

This was an Odeon cinema years ago. Then it became Rainbow. It is now called Imagine Cinema. Not sure when the name changed or why, but we enjoyed the cinema for many reasons. Firstly, we watched the latest movie here for $10. That is right. It is $10 and not more. The film itself (Fantastic Beasts And How To Make Them Bore You When There Is No Story Behind Them) turned out being worth more like $2, but that is another story!! The cinema offers $5 Tuesdays too. Secondly, the cinema was clean. Thirdly, very few people were there. It seems like everyone likes to pay $16 and be fleeced at SilverCity or whatever. In other words, we paid less and had less people around us!! Woohoo! Fourthly, because they are a smaller chain (?) or company there were very few commercials before the film. We paid less, had less people around us and watched less commercials. What a concept... cool! Finally, plenty of parking spaces for anyone and everyone are at your disposal. Obviously Imagine does not have rocking seats or 4D films or a Burger King inside (I told you, the positives don't stop...), but with a huge screen, comfortable seats, no kids screaming around you and no kid-brains flicking round on their ickyphones I felt like this cinema is a winner! read more
