Wasn't impressed with this theatre. Not very clean, one of our chairs was broken and wouldn't recline and the theatre was SO HOT! I dug out something in my purse to fan myself through the whole movie it was so warm. I will at least say the service was very friendly that we encountered. read more

Normally, I liked this theater. It's generally nice, comfortable, and used to have attentive staff to help. Today? I stood at the counter for several minutes, wanting to buy a ticket. One of the staff kept looking over at me, and otherwise completely ignored me. Not a problem! I'll just take my money elsewhere! read more

They overcharge on their food and drinks then have the guts to tell you they don't refill your drinks when you just paid 6.50 for it

Seats were comfortable, it was easy to get in and out with someone who is mobility challenged. I would come to see a show here again.

Couldn't give 0 stars, probably the worst experience ever, and this is me NOT being a Karen. No upcoming movie previews, movie audio was off and not restarted. Then staff was tapping their nails to rush us out. Management reached out after complaining on how to make things right. I am not trying to get anything free or anything. We've lived in the area for about a decade but never knew this theater existed. Our neighbor mentioned it and I tucked that info in the back of my brain. We decided on an impromptu Tuesday movie date, but the film we wanted to see wasn't until 4pm @ AMC. Then I remembered Cinemark! I downloaded the app, created an account, checked the showtimes and they had our movie available at noon. Yay! We headed out around 11 (it's about a 50 minute drive for us) and arrived at showtime. 2 girls were at the one open register with an elderly lady, giving her a full tutorial on theatre seating. The line was growing behind us, but neither employee seemed to care. Standing there I took notice of a lot. There was a small, cramped arcade to my left where a man was emptying all the coins from the machines. Great to see stuff like that finally available for use again. On the counter is a sign, "No refills." Got it. One&done on the overpriced popcorn and soda, blame COVID. Except no COVID in the arcade. Hotdog machine is broken. About 5 minutes later Miss Daisy finally had her ticket and departs for her snacks. I give the one cashier (cashier #2 is now snack girl) the title of our movie, choose our seats on the TOUCH SCREEN (apparently no COVID concerns there, either) and we get in line behind Miss Daisy for some popcorn & soda. Snack Girl couldn't look more hateful if she tried. Almost everything she says is unintelligible. I ask for an orange Fanta, she points to the cooler behind me and grunts "Only in bottles." I ask what fountain sodas they have, she rattles off all the diet & regular colas, root beer and Hi-C. We decide in a Hi-C and a large popcorn. We grab napkins, she hands us a glistening carton of popcorn (I didn't ask for butter), I pay and we depart. Pre-movie stuff has started and the theatre is completely dark except for the screen and the letters on the stairs illuminating the rows. Seat numbers are off/burned out, but since the theatre was empty but for 2 people we just sat where we wanted. The "seat" was 1 continuous row, like a long couch, without any armrests. My husband ran to the bathroom, I turned on the light on my phone and tried to figure out where the dang armrests were. With illumination I saw the pleather on most of the seats was cracked, torn, nasty. Like furniture you see on the curb for free. My husband came back and discovered the armrests were folded up and tucked between the chair backs. Armrests down, we figured out heat & recline and got comfortable. The recline isn't as nice as AMC, but all the buttons were there and everything worked, which isn't always the case at AMC. Took a bite of popcorn. The butter was rancid. I thought I smelled it when we were walking, but it had been so long since I'd had buttered popcorn I thought maybe I was wrong. I wasn't. There was no way I was going back to the snack witchypoo so we ate the $8 bucket of nasty. The movie showing itself was fine. Great picture, great sound. I went to the bathroom mid-show and was shocked to see the ONE handicapped stall tagged "out of order" and the door removed. On the way back I passed the ticket taker, who wasn't there on our way in. He just stared off into space, twirling his lanyard on his finger. No "hello," no eye contact. Maybe witchypoo's brother? Movie finished, we filed out, hit the loo once more and headed home. I think I'll stick with AMC. At least there the employees are courteous, the popcorn is fresh (with 1 free refill!), butter is optional, and AMC has a million flavors of fountain soda. Including orange, grape & peach Fanta. Oh. And YES, I got sick on the way home from the rancid butter. read more

The parking lot was quite discouraging, it looked as if Mardi Gras was held there the night before. Lots of trash! Behind the counter in concessions were 3-5 employees. I love going to the movies in Lufkin because the theaters aren't too crowded. In general, talking and cell phone use is less of a problem than in more populated cities like Houston. This Cinemark is clean and I've never experienced any technical problems or rude staff here. Popcorn is reasonably fresh most of the time. Today, employees all wore "Brave" shirts, but you can only see "Brave" at the Lufkin Mall. I guess that's a franchise thing, but it was pretty funny. I prefer Cinemark over the mall and those are the only 2 options in town. read more

I don't feel like the staff was very friendly to me. Lots of "I hate my job" faces, but, look kiddos, we've all had crappy jobs before. The kid that took our ticket stubs, instead of telling us our screen number, he basically pointed down the hallway and said "That way."... Really? Wow, you're so helpful. My movie is playing in the ONE hallway you guys have? So, like, left-ways down this left-moving space tunnel? My head's gonna explode! The theater was clean, though, and the matinee deals are pretty good. Oh, and if you can't find the place, look for a gigantic patch of trees near some buildings... it's behind the trees. read more

One of the worst movie theaters that I have ever been to! I bought tickets on Fandango and when we got to the theater, they didn't even know how to pull the tickets up in the box office....maybe your staff needs to be trained? The auditorium itself was filthy and not really cleaned between showings. As for the seating, the seats are very narrow and unlike most Cinemark theaters, the arm rests do not move. DON'T come to this theater if you are a big person!!! You will be beyond uncomfortable!!! HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND AND WILL NEVER RETURN!!! read more

Wow! What a great experience! My boyfriend and I went for a movie date to see detective pikachu last night and we don't expect much when going out to the movies as far as customer service goes but this visit was just outstanding! The first thing we noticed is how clean the place was all the way from the parking lot to our seats, especially right before a movie show time were used to theaters being sort of in a panic mess coming in that close close to the movie starting but not this one! As we walked in we were nearly immediately greeted by the sweetest employee Alana at the concession counter who even though had a few people waiting behind us to order didn't make us feel rushed or in the way. We ordered two medium drinks and popcorn when Alana talked us into upgrading to larges which sounds kind of annoying at first I don't usually like getting up sold something but the way she informed us about how slight the price difference was while maintaining the same welcoming attitude we upgraded our order without feeling pushed. I also noticed that the concessions stand was clearly busy and had two managers supporting the team from behind. It's refreshing to see management on the front line like that without seeming over bearing to their staff. I know I'm really going on with this review but I'm truly just so impressed by everything! I really hope who ever is at the top running this place sees this reviews and knows that they have done a fantastic job. Thank you!! Can't wait to come back. read more

My son (22) took his sister (16), brother (16) and his brother's girlfriend (18) to see the movie US on 3/31/2019. After driving from Center, Texas to Lufkin, Texas which is a hour away, my 22 year old son with the proper ID to show his age and his siblings, was not allowed to see this movie. He was told that he had to be their parent to be able to see the movie. Then he was told he could not buy a ticket for each person to see the movie, they had to buy their own ticket and have the proper ID to prove their age. Everybody does not have ID or a drivers license at that age. So, I called the theater yesterday to ask the age limit for the movie and the lady went on to tell me 17 and above with the proper ID and under 17 has to have an of age guardian with them. I explained the situation that happened on 3/31 and she went on to say, "well you have to look like a parent". Can somebody please tell me what a parent look like since this world have 13 year old girls having babies? read more
