Why can't all movie theaters be like this! Efficient, clean, and the XD is amazing! We walk in through the Carson mall, which I wasn't too fond of, but once you step into the theater, it was a world away. It was a short line to get my tickets checked and we were greeted nicely. Then, omg, it came, the beauty of a move Theater offering ice cream and....Starbucks! Yes!! My two fav things in a move Theater! I usually have to sneak in my coffee but not here. Wow, seriously, can I come here all the time? I can't stand how most theaters only have nasty nachos, hotdogs, and pretzels as snacks. We decided to get a drink and popcorn. I was slightly confused at first because you get your food and drink, then pay for it at a counter! What! Wait! You trust me to get it and pay for it? You don't have your staff running over each other getting my popcorn and handing it to me over a counter only after I pay? This is way to awesome. The popcorn comes with 1 free refill and it genius that they rip off a little tag on the popcorn box to track it. Honestly, who needs more than one refill? It's such a money saver for them. Smart! Omg, then the XD. The seats were comfy, leather, and stacked so that I could clearly see over the seat in front of me. The sound was extraordinary and the screen did seem bigger. I live 5 minutes away so this is my go to theater. i always watch movies in the mornings just because it's less busy. i always have nothing but positive experiences when i come here (and i have been coming here since they opened). the food stand, theater and restrooms have always been clean and organized. the staff always friendly and courteous. i always buy my tickets online and i enjoy the fact that we are able to pick our seats. i'll be coming here for years to come! read more

2 stars for the friendly staff but this is honestly the worst theater around. First and last time here. Mainly because the seats were not fully reclining and getting snacks is a bit of a maze. There aren't any signs posted that there are two side lines where you pick up your snacks. But more annoying were the people watching the movie who didn't know what appropriate theater behavior is. TIPS: 1) Don't come to the theater to sleep and if you doze off please have one of the five people that came with you elbow you when you start SNORING! 2) if your kid starts kicking the seat in front of please ask them to stop before the disgruntled person they're kicking turns around and tells them to STOP! 3) If you drop something on the floor wait til the movie is over to use your phone lamp to search for the item! 4) if you need to use the RR walk down quietly. It's not your living room when you can discuss your issues while we are ALL trying to enjoy the movie! 5) Lastly, if you walk in front of someone while the movie is on just whisper EXCUSE ME! This is my go to theater. It's close to home, restaurants and shopping. It's located in between Old Navy and Sears. On Tuesdays, tickets are $6 all day and you pick your seat after purchasing your ticket. The staff is friendly and the theater is clean. They have very comfy chairs that rock. And the sound quality is good. Can't speak about the concession stand yet because I always eat at one the many restaurants near by first. But this is a great theater to visit. read more

Cars 3 was back in theaters for a limited time in certain theaters and I was torn because of the reviews about this place. You see, my hubby and I haven't been to the theaters in 4 years (since our son was born) and we first watched Cars 3 when it came out a couple months ago at a Regal Theater and got to experience for the first time these amazing big plush roomy seats. Needless to say, we fell in love and vowed never to go elsewhere. So back to being torn about the reviews for this theater... There were some that loved this theater seats and others not so much. My hubby and I didn't like it. Maybe we got spoiled from Regal seats. This is still the same small theater with barely enough leg room to walk through and just with slightly reclining, not so plush seats. Bogus!! If you think these seats are good, you haven't fully experienced reclining seats. Omg - literally big ass, automatic push button reclining (damn near all the way down, feet up), plush seats AND you have enough space in front of you for people to walk. You must find these theater seats if you haven't already. I gave it 2 stars because the staff there were nice BUT their concession area was dirrrty! They really need someone to clean up that area every hour or so. There were popcorn and drinks spilled all over the fountain drink area and on the floor - not cool. So if you're like us and need to be at a theater with amazing reclining, plush seats to get the best movie experience every time...this is not the place. This place is SO filthy it's ridiculous. The floor is super sticky, there's food EVERYWHERE, and I have not seen one person clean up at all. All the counters had soda and slushy on them so they were also sticky. Also they don't sell beer, LAME. So the seats here are the old type of theater seats in the auditorium we're in so you cannot recline or put your feet up they're also small. Drive somewhere else if you can this one is not worth it. This theater is located inside of the Southbay Pavilion in Carson. So parking can be challenging especially on a weekend since it's located in a mall. It's pretty easy to find. The service is ok, not the best but not the worst. If I had to pick another theater and this one, I would most likely go with the other choice. read more

Went in today and saw one of the cashiers super anxious, wanting buyers to go to him for check out by waving his hand to go to him, since no one went over to him. So, I decided to go to his checkout, but deeply regret it. He spoke so low, I couldn't really even hear him, and he didn't even put the money in the cash register. He only took out the amount I needed back and that's it. He clearly showed that he really didn't want to be there. I wish I would've went to the lady cashier for a possible better experience. Also be careful when wanting to buy pizza. They don't seal their mini Pizza Hut's pizza boxes. One of the cheese pizzas were slightly open and the pepperoni one wasn't sealed, so I asked the worker if they seal their pizzas and he never gave me an answer and told me he'd be right back. Once he came back and found me, he told me that the pizzas are suppose to be sealed and that somebody probably did open both boxes. He took the pizza box I showed him and brought one back out that was sealed however, I deeply felt that he just put a sealed label on the same box I gave him... read more

1 star for being clean & the other just because. My youngest sis and I came here to see Wonder Woman & I had a blast! The concessions are pricy for sure but I'm glad we caught the matinee price. Another time the following week, I saw the same movie with my other sister, but this time, I had a less stellar experience. My sister wanted to get certain seats and it showed as being reserved already, but when she picked a different pair of seats, she checked the original ones she wanted and they all of a sudden were available! She called and called a TON and no one was picking up the phone! By the time we got here physically, she asked about the phone issue and the attendant said she just got in her shift. She asked for the manager and he said the same thing. I could tell that my sister was pissed by this time, she was trying to keep as calm as possible. How irritating though when the manager showed us that he brought the phone ringer volume up in front of us! That goes to show that the phones were indeed being neglected! Smh... they didn't even offer to make us feel better anyhow, we walked away to our movie feeling dissatisfied with the poor customer service. Unapologetic & full of excuses. I'm usually quite generous with stars (I may still am) but I'm plenty pissed from the experience & can talk a storm because of it. read more

I come here for our family nights and it is always clean and fast. I also love the fact that it reserves seats!! Which helps since I love buying online and live pretty far so I don't have to worry about ending up with horrible seats!! Like any other theater the price is average and the food is just like the rest pricey. But that's what's expected when you go to theaters so no biggie! read more

This is my first time here at this movie location since the revamp. This theater is a wonderful new addition. Was so excited that I realized where exactly I was. I frequent the mall multiple times because there's an Ikea literally in the next parking lot over so I'm not unfamiliar with this particular Mall. Carson revamped the mall over the course of about maybe a year-and-a-half now and I had no idea that they completely changed stores inside as I know majority of previous shops inside the mall. Very often I usually just go to the food court after I go to IKEA. As I search for this particular movies Sleepless I discovered that there was a cinemark and I love Cinemark movie theaters. So I wanted to try out this movie theater in this location not knowing that was attached to there revamping of the mall. The entrance is located inside the mall not outside the mall but just different for me I'm usually used to go into a movie theater outside of a plaza or Center or strip mall that the entrance is outside. The theater is nice because it's Cinemark so there is no issues thus far. Sleepless was a very good movie and I believe there will be a part two therefore I will be seeing this movie again. read more

Watching Avengers : Infinity War! I love the fact that they have an in store Starbucks which offers drinks at normal Starbucks price! It was super convenient to order tickets online, and the ticket booth was nice enough to inform my friend and I that we didn't even need to wait in line; we could go straight in the theater with just showing our phones. Cinemark also has a rewards program to gain points and rewards when you make any purchase there.. can't wait to rack up those points! read more

This was my 1st time to this theater and it will most definitely be my last! Every part of my body aches after sitting through the movie Logan. The seats are EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE and do not recline normally. There is also not enough leg room & I'm only 5'10. Compared to the other Cinemark theaters this one is the worst. I'm giving them 2 stars on account of the friendly staff and great overall atmosphere. I really expected to be more than comfortable here and that was absolutely not the case. This theatre is sooo old and dated just like the whole mall I guess. Chose this one over the Howard Hughes location because of show times, by shall not do that ever again. Mostly disappointed because they did NOT have the cool fountain soda machine where you have a ton of options...more importantly the one option that counts, VANILLA COKE! It's my favorite part of the movie experience and you will not get it here. The leather seats aren't bad, that is the one plus. South Bay Galleria has the comfy seats on lock though so if I was choosing based off seat comfort I would go there since theirs reclines. Basically this theatre needs an update. read more

There are a few rules and proper etiquette when one is a patron of a business where all can go, if they treat all with respect.. #1 Please turn off your cell phone and put it away when the movie starts. If you need to make a call or answer your phone, please go into the lobby. #2 Respect the people seated in front and next to you by not putting your feet on top of the chair in front of you. People have to sit there and your shoes are dirty and no one wants to put their head where your shoes have stepped. #3 Please refrain from talking and yelling in the theater. No one can enjoy the movie when this type of behavior goes on. #4 If your child begins to cry or run around. Please take them to the lobby, so not to disturb the others in the theater, while the movie is showing. After the child has quieted down, then come back into the theater and enjoy the movie. These are just a few rules that make the Cinema experience enjoyable for all. If you have any sort of problems or questions at the Cinema. Please ask any employee, security, or manager. I love having theater in my neighborhood. It was overdue. However, I hate that every time I come, there is always a long line to buy tickets. They are understaffed and the kiosk are always broken. I spoke to manager and district manager in November regarding this matter. They apologized and said change would come soon. Two months later and still no change. I'm very disappointed. read more

If I could give no stars I would. At first I was excited that a movie theater was coming to Carson but now I just wish it wasn't here. First let me start by saying the security are disrespectful. I took my 10 year old god son to the movies, in the middle of the movie he had to use the restroom so I took him. While waiting for him outside the restroom I was confronted by a security guard who asked me what movie was I there for and I answered. Then then walked off. I went back to my movie where 5 mins later him and 2 fellow security officers walked upstairs with flashlights demanding to see my ticket. I showed him and all he said was ok and left. Don't get me wrong, it is a pretty nice theater, but if you want to actually hear the movie, go to AMC Del Amo. It is a nice theater, it could've been an amazing theater, however people were very rude. Today, I watched Insidious 3 and people were non stop talking. The talking didn't end. People were very inconsiderate and obnoxious. That needs to be the priority of the management if they want people to continue going there, or else it's like paying to listen to people talk. Also, I'm not a fan of the whole self-serve situation and the little area to buy food. Cinemark should reconsider that station. At least expand it because it feels very cramped. The large popcorn is refillable but not the soda but that's alright, just drink water. So if you want a peaceful and quiet place to watch a movie you paid for, go to AMC Del Amo. read more

I was highly disappointed with my experience with this theater. My sister & I arrived for a showing of Aloha ( we got the times from Fandango) & when we got to the counter, we were told that Fandango was incorrect, & they took no responsibility for Fandango's website! We asked for the manager, she came out & we informed her that we had driven from Lake Arrowhead for this showing & chosen her theater for the convenience to LAX & the show time. She was apologetic & gave each of us a free pass for next time. What really set me off was when we asked to use the restroom & we were turned down as it is for patrons only! Just went to go see Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Ordered a large kettle corn popcorn with intentions of ordering a refill before I left to take home (yes it's just that good) lol everyone was pretty friendly. Got into the theatre and the seats are Brown leather and sooo very comfortable. I like how the arm rests all fully go up too. Pretty large theatres, we were situated in #8, right passed the food counters to the left. So I'm sitting in the theatre and at about 45 minutes, I'm already really into the movie at this point and all of a sudden the damn lights start to come on in the theatre. There were only about 9 or 10 people in the theatre and no one moved but continued to watch the movie. I thought that maybe they would realize the lights came on and turn them back off. About 5 mins go by and still no one moved. So I got up and left the theatre to notify an attendant because at this point it's getting annoying and distracting. I told the gentleman who was at the food counter what had happened and he said he'd call someone to get it fixed. I went back inside (missing vital parts of the movie) and the lights still hadn't turn off for at least another 5 minutes. There wasnt even an apology! I was so irritated by the end of the movie that all I wanted to do was take my ass home...so I did. Least to say, I will be calling them up tomorrow. Btw I didn't even get a refill on my popcorn like I said i was going to! Cinemark, get your shit together. This would have never happened at AMC. I wanted to come to this local theatre just to support my neighborhood even in spite of all the bad reviews. read more

Never coming to this place again! Decided to come here for a first night out in three years since my child was born. Accidentally chose a racy movie we weren't comfortable watching and ended up late to our movie because they had some kids at the front asking people to download they're cinemark app. Which we did. So 30 mins in the movie we go to the front to ask if we could trade our tickets, only to be told we were too late and we should've asked sooner. We were only there for 20-30 mins! So upset for wasting money here and the night, I just went home to cuddle my kids. Def Going to a different theatre next time. read more
