I'm on a roll lately with great meals thanks to yelp. And this time it's Mexican! There really is nothing like authentic Mexican fare. It's the combination of starchy carbs crossed with meat and cheese that really attracts me to this cuisine. But it doesn't matter cuz I'm hooked. The wife ordered steak and sausage tacos which were dynamite. And I ordered the Mexican favorite which is a whole heaping of onions and peppers topped with different proteins and seafood. A meal fit for a Mexican King. Unfortunately on the first go round the chicken tasted very tough and bland (minus one star). So we sent the meal back for steak and it was much better. Of course the chips and salsa are give in. And the service was actually very good and the place was clean. So yeah if your looking for great, authentic Mexican this is your spot. I have nothing negative to say about this place! The food was great, the sangria was very tasty and the atmosphere was nice. A little loud on Saturday night but nothing too bad. They even take reservations during the week, something the other Mexican restaurant does not do. Ask for Luis, great waiter and the food came out super quick. Will be back soon! read more

Love the chicken soup, very fresh and authentic. Been here 6 times always get great service and good food. If I had to nitpick I would say they could give out more pico de gallo with your meal and make better refried beans but besides that the rest is delicious. read more

Enchiladas are uncooked and no more than a taco with warm sauce. Service was mediocre at best (we got our food before the silverware) and the tacos came without lettuce, cheese or tomatoes. read more

Let me just start off by saying this.. if I could give no stars I would but at least the food is decent. We have been here a few times but this was the worst. 1. When we first walked in almost all the servers were on their phones!! Very unprofessional. 2. Our server was Haley and she was just terrible! Very rude and hardly checked on us. It seemed like she had better things to do (be on her phone) she also had her arm and head on a co worker (very unprofessional as well!) 3. Food was big portioned but it was cold. Went here for lunch- everything was great. The guac is made fresh at your table! Taco salad was great. Service was excellent. Cant wait to go back! Would definitely recommend. Tried this place a week ago with the family. They have upped their game food was fantastic. The trio tacos just rock flavor size perfect. The Diablo steak taco had a nice kick the sauce on the side will bring a nice sweat. They have a rather healthy size margarita and a nice selection of beer. I will be back here. read more

Love it! Have never had my food come out so quickly (and correctly). Table-side guacamole is a must order item! Delicious and fun to watch it being made. Margarita was not the best I've ever had but they bring a small glass as a refill since the frozen drinks take up more room. Pretty awesome customer service right there! The Mexican food here is not very authentic. It tastes pretty average but I think that it is too pricey for the portions; they don't give you much to eat. The Spanish rice tastes like white rice and the beans are not good either. I do really like the drinks, the decor, and the homemade guacamole; however, I think you're better off going to Papa Joe's if you want authentic Mexican food in Westminster. read more

Cinco de Mayo has some of the best Mexican food in Carroll County. The ambiance is so inviting and very pretty. The waiters are very friendly and always polite and attentive. I love their tortilla soup-it's the closest to authentic that I've ever found outside of Mexico. Their mole poblano is different than others I've had, but not at all in a bad way. Prices are fair and what you'd expect to pay at other Mexican restaurants. read more

This has been hands down the worst restaurant experience ever! The quality of service and food is poor. Our bill had charges far in excess if what we ordered. In bringing the issue to the attention of the waiter and manager, our concerns were first dismissed, then we were treated as if we were the problem. The manager gestured and spoke very disrespectfully and told us that he didn't care if we returned. Customers beware. Carefully inspect your bill before paying. This is not the first time we have experienced additional charges to our bill. Consider driving a little further for a better dining experience. There are better Mexican restaurants with far better food and customer service. read more

SOOOO GOOD! I got the enchiladas suizas and it was amazing! We went at a good time (4:15pm) too (it gets really busy during dinner time no matter what day you go). I give this place 5 stars! Now it's no Plazuela's but it does have something special! I've never had a bad experience here and my go to is always the fajitas! They are so good! The queso dip is also great as well. The service is pretty good! They have been on top of making sure we have everything we need. On two separate occasions now we tried to order carry out via phone. Both times they would not answer the phone and it went to voice mail that was full and not accepting anymore messages. This last time was on Saturday 7/28/18. Both times I had to order in person and wait 20 minutes for the food to be ready. I told the manager on both occasions that this occurred. The manager on the first occasion seemed genuine concerned and went searching for the phone to check it. On the second occasion the manager didn't care and said oh yea!. After reading the prior reviews i decide to give this place a try, to say the least i was very dissappointed. We were greeted by a very nice hostess and seated immediately. It took our waiter a few minutes to come over but since they were slightly busy i figured it was ok. We were brought some chips and salsa(the salsa tasted like it came from a jar)(maybe it did?).About 10 min later our waiter came back to get our food order.3 tacos,1 fish,1 steak and chirizo,and 1 chicken. If the food is made from scratch i am wondering why it came out in 5 min,my fish taco and chicken taco looked and tasted like shoe leather,the steak and chirizo should of been labeled as a salt lick.We also had to ask for silverware since we had none on the table. Ordered a chicken quesdilla (so chicken and cheese) there was no cheese on it at all. I sent it back to the kitchen where they were suppose to add cheese. When it came back out there was a quarter size ball of cheese on a slice and it was soaking wet in oils. I ate chips and salsa the reminder if the meal.... Food comes quickly and servers do a good job of refilling drinks and nachos. Have eaten each type of enchilada, all are good. Nacho supreme is also a favorite as an appetizer. Best Mexican in the area read more

I wanted to give this place a chance, but it is no match for Papa Joe's. It was crowded on a Friday night, so we waited about 20 min which isn't terrible. However, if you stand at the front where the hostess desk is, you can smell fumes from the nail salon next door, almost strong enough to make you dizzy. Glad we sat in the back! 1. Their salsa is a JOKE. Seriously. It tastes like it came straight from a can. Not good at all. Chips were OK. Sangria was OK as well. 2. We asked the server some questions about the menu & he didn't understand us enough to answer. I appreciate authenticity but you still need to be able to communicate with customers. 3. The main issue I have with them is that our food came out probably 5-7 minutes after we ordered. Why is that a problem? On a busy night if they make food from scratch, that's not possible. My quesadilla was wet, sloppy & basically a pile of stuff inside a tortilla. It tasted OK (not the beans or rice) but it was super messy and hard to eat. 4. My bf got some kind of combo platter (like 5 different foods, again made in 7 minutes?) He liked some of it, but the "tamale" was so gross neither one of us touched it. He had stomach pains for the rest of the night. 5. Paying over $40 for dinner for 2 & being served pre-made junk is NOT worth it. At least Papa Joe's makes things fresh (especially their salsa) & you can taste the difference. Plus they're cheaper. read more

First time at Cinco De Mayo and I gotta say not impressed at all! I ordered a set of 3 Mexican tacos (steak) and they were dripping with grease. The steak had no flavor! Also, the beans and rice did not taste fresh. They tasted like they're from the can. Not authentic at all! The chips and salsa were okay. My mother ordered the "crazy chicken" el pollo loco and we had to ask them to make her a new plate! That chicken was so salty.. It tasted like someone marinated the chicken in salt!
