The food was DELICIOUS and the atmosphere is great! Seemed that our server was maybe new/ training or just didn't understand our English possibly, but there was a second person who was super helpful in that case! The salsas we got with our chips were HOT and MILD, so be careful when you try them out if you're sensitive! Food came out pretty quickly with no issues and for the first time in a long time I actually finished my whole plate, no leftovers!

Excellent service. Was seated immediately. Had water and chips in a few minutes. Both salsas were to my liking. I ordered Camarons al Moho de Ajo. Which is shrimp and mushrooms in their garlic sauce. Loved it. Alo of flavor and well prepared. Had to take half back home. Resturant was very clean and has a nice atmospere. I would recommend this if you like Mexican cuisine.

Went here as it was close. Unfortunately food was sub-par. Fajita meat, peppers & onions were half burnt, you could it when it arrived @ table. Guac & sour cream were atop a pile of lettuce, thus for show; it was used on first tortilla. Tortillas were very thin and stuck together, so they tore trying to separate. Salsa was Ok. Service was good, quick and provided everything.

Chori Pollo with steamed vegetables...very good!

Dined here last night with a large party and the experience was great. I arrived late and our server was quick to take my order to ensure it arrived around the same time as my group which was much appreciated. I ordered the Chori Pollo which was served with an enchilada, rice and tortillas. I'm eating low carb so in place of the carbs I opted for steamed vegetables and a sliced avocado instead. Our server didn't bat an eye at my requests and my entree came out perfect in a timely manner. Definitely recommend Cinco De Mayo for good food and service.

Since discovering authentic Mexican cuisine, we find it hard to eat at commercial restaurants but we are learning we can ask for dishes and they will accommodate. Out with family, we decided on Cinco. The restaurant is always clean, the staff are always attentive and ready to seat us. There's never any complaints there for sure. My new favorite carnitas tacos are something I look to try everywhere and unfortunately Cinco let me down. The meat was dry and I had to dip it in our chip salsa to give it flavor. Normally I take it with clinatro , onion and lime but I had to dip them in the salsa. I did order guacamole and it was perfect. Perfect amount of all the ingredients and I honestly could have made a meal out of it. I will definitely try something new next time we end up at Cinco.

Absolutely one of the worst Mexican restaurants I have ever been to and the service it was even worse. Waited 30 minutes for some of the saltiest coldest most disgusting food I've had in a very long time and the servers could not care about the customer and it was not just us but it seemed like every table around us was thoroughly ignored. I overheard a waitress use the puto to another customer, I mean really? They were very abusive to the gringos. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place, unfortunately if you are in monks corner you really don't have many choices but trust me this should not even be on your list.

Our favorite place to eat Mexican food. We have tried everywhere around the CHARLESTON area. This is our go to place by far.

The food was very good and the portion size was good as well. The hot salsa was very good the mild tasted like stewed tomatoes.

I tried the Pollo a la Pina which is chicken shrimp and pineapple. The chicken was super tender and very flavorful. My husband's nachos were good, he said it was nice having plenty of chicken for each nacho. For a Sunday afternoon, it was busy but not loud and obnoxious like most places so we really enjoyed our visit.

It's really just the big glass light sculpture over the bar that reminds me of a Chihuly art. We started with some queso with chorizo and the free chips and salsa. I had a soda and my brother got a margarita. For entrees we had the chicken and shrimp fajitas and the enchiladas. Everything was good, but pretty standard. The reason I mention that is because the bill after tax and tip was over $80 which I had a little sticker shock over. I know they are trying to be a nicer option and food costs have gone up, but that seemed pretty high for what we got. During the meal, our service was excellent... so much so that we noticed and commented on how on point our server was. My brother mentioned that he hoped she didn't screw it up by being nowhere to be found when the meal was done and that's exactly what happened. I think she may have actually left the building because we never saw her again. Eventually we got someone else to get a togo box and get the check. For that kind of money, I expected better.
