Good: A great place to enjoy that Mexican food you're craving. My family & I usually order chicken or shrimp burritos, enchiladas, tacos, and tostadas. Good: You'll appreciate, like we do, the fresh salsa bar where they serve 3 types of salsa along with other condiments you might need for an enjoyable meal. Bad: I noticed that the burrito sizes have shrunk though. It's almost two-thirds of what it used to be, yet at the same price like before. I guess they have to cut back somewhere to make a profit. Bad: They charge 10¢ for a bag for my to-go meals. I ordered 3 meals last week (3/2014). This is the only restaurant we go to that charge for a bag - and we visit around 10 different food establishments every week. And I refuse to pay for one when I already paid for the food! Please don't nickel-and-dime us. Giving us a fresh bag for our take-out meals is just part of good customer service. read more

Ordered Original Nachos, with all three beans (black beans, pinto beans, re-fried beans) and Jack Cheese. What I got was Nachos with only re-fried beans and a pound of Jack Cheese. Until very recently this was a different Mexican restaurant and just changed hands. I have not eaten at the Cinco de Mayo on Pacheco so I can't compare. But this restaurant is clean and nice. You order at a counter and they bring the food to you. Staff was friendly and the service was fast. Our food was really good. I had the chili relleno and it was fresh and hot and came with rice and beans. I had a crispy beef taco that was also very good. My son had the nachos and liked them a lot. Prices are extremely reasonable and you have the option of ordering half dinners, like one chili relleno instead of two on the chili relleno dinner plate. No beer yet, they are in the process of getting a license. Salsa bar with limes and jalapeños. We'll definitely go back. read more

This place has been a long time staple for me but the quality continues to go downhill and today, I realized I haven't had a decent meal from there in awhile. Today I ordered a grilled chicken superburrito.The burrito meat was dry, unflavored, and overcooked. Tons of rice as filler, a few black beans, no lettuce or veggies, and (yet again) they forgot to put on sour-cream. Dry, unflavorful and tossed it in the garbage after a few bites! Although chipotle has had some bad rap this last year, at least they're burritos have flavor and taste. Carne Asada Crispy Tacos the bomb! It's not on the menu you had to ask for it! But that's all I get! Freaking fantastic!

I ordered 3 tacos, a chicken, al pastor, and carne asada just to try it out when I found this little shop next to Nob Hill Foods (chuckled when I saw the cute yet tacky decorations at the front like what you would see at a party, pinatas and stuff) . I was greeted by a young lady at the front who could not be more unenthusiastic when taking my order. Prices are not bad $2.25/$1.99 for the tacos and even for burritos, not bad. However, you get what you paid for. I like to try my food first before adding any additional condiments on it to taste the flavors first. The meats were kind of disappointing, not that flavorful even with the hottest of salsa. In addition, every bite was so difficult because they didn't chop it up too well so it was big ol' chunks in each bite. They give you complimentary chips too but it's literally only...5 chips. To start with the gal at the counter is not even Latina and has an attitude. Not helpful at all. The food is watered down, the beans are mush, you are lucky if you actually get a bean in the ordeal. My new husband and I just got married yesterday afternoon, and after we had the reception, packed everything up and headed back home to Martinez. We were starving, as were our family members. We suggested Cinco De Mayo for dinner since it's close to our house, and the food is always great. So our whole family, 9 of us all together, including me in my wedding dress, piled into the restaurant and had a great dinner. The girls working there were great, took our large order and pushed 2 tables together for us. The food was wonderful, everything cam out exactly how we had ordered it, everyone had a great time. I ordered the chicken enchilada combination plate with beans and rice, and a chile relleno on the side, it was amazing! I didn't get to eat much at the wedding, I was very happy to stuff myself! OMG! Reminded me of Mission St in SF. It was not salty at all, and that's ok with me. You can always add, but you can't remove. I had a veggie burrito, tasty! I would go back, and plan on it. I live in Benicia, and our once fav Mexican restaurant is now being boycotted due to staff attacking patron who wrote a review about one of the staff. Went to pickup food today with a coworker. I had a combo plate (tamale was good, cheese enchilada was so-so but the chili relleno was a total mess and i have nothing good to say about it.
