Had some doubts about the location as the sign on the building is missing, but we found it since there isn't much around it. We'd ordered the 3 amigos, passion fruit juice, corona, 3 cod beer battered fish tacos and a nacho with cheese, sour cream, vegetables and beans. The spicy green salsa was tasty, but not spicy for my hubby, they brought him the habanero. The guac and bean dip with the chips was good. My hubby mixed the pico with the guac to give it more flavor. The fish tacos were just okay, not special. The loaded nachos were so loaded and yummy. Well done to the chef for taking our order and making me something so good and filling enough that my hubby had to help me eat it up. Would definitely be back for the loaded nachos for sure. The inside is like an ice box, but probably great on a really hot day. It wasn't that hot today.

Stopped on the way to El Yunque for lunch. We split the spicy enchiladas. Best enchiladas I've ever had.

4 tacos all different meats. And a skirt steak quesadilla.

Hands down the best burrito I've had. The melted cheese on top of it is a concept other restaurants should get on. I had the Cilantro Special, which was amazing was amazing. The margaritas are reasonably priced and delightful. The staff is quite friendly and outgoing. Definitely a spot everyone should check out.

They should honestly take the Mexican out of the name. Putting something in a burrito does not make it Mexican. The hot sauce tasted like the package sauce they give in Taco Bell or Taco Maker. This was more Tex-Mex or not even honestly. Tex-Mex taste better. The food was decent but would not come again. They REHEAT everything in 2 microwaves and it was just not what I expected. The service was okay and prices decent.

Rarely do I write a review BUUUUT the reviews on this spot serves us well!!!! The chicken BORRICUA (large burrito with sweet plantains) is AMAZING TIMES 10!!! MILTON the owner is firendly, personable and just and all around good guy! Start with a blue marg, after that everything is good, REALLY GOOD...especially the steak tacos! This place. I'll be completely honest. My husband and I were scared to go in, we came here after dark and it seemed like not the best part of town but after driving by twice, we decided to risk it. We are SO glad we did! There was a mix of locals and tourist. Our waiter came and sat down at our table with us and took our order, it was awesome. If you're into trying different foods I would recommend the "Burr-icua" it's a burrito with plantains and it was so amazing! The best burrito I've ever had. read more

We stopped here on our way to the airport home and could not have had a better last meal in PR. Ceviche was great, margaritas were on point, and burritos were out of this world. I stopped by Cilantro because it was close, but I just had the best quesadilla in my life! I had a steak and shrimp quesadilla, and was delicious. I also ordered a drink, all I said was "something fruity" and he hooked me up. It was delicious and strong. If they were still open, I'm sure my husband would go back as my quesadilla outdid his pizza that he bought around the block. I should've known it was good when I watched a child, around 9 years old finish his generous portion quietly and almost in its entirety. read more

The chicken tacos are awesome! And Milton (behind the counter) has a voice made for radio and TV. You could listen to that cat talk all day. Small, cozy, and wonderful find for tacos and burritos. It's not fancy but it is genuine food made with love and absolutely delicious. We were the only non-Spanish speaking people in the joint and Milton took great care of us. They made a special bean & cheese burrito for my little one that was so good, we ordered another to go. Great place to catch a tasty dinner. Well done...keep is the great work! read more

Yum! We stopped here on the way to Rio Grande from the airport and everything was delicious. We had the enchilada verde and the mar y Tierra quesadilla. Kids loved the Mexican sodas and the movies on the TV. Incredibly friendly service. Don't be put off by the dark windows and seemingly closed appearance -- they are most definitely open and ready for business! read more

Delicious food! Went with two vegans and five omnivores. The black beans, pico, and guac are all vegan and delicious! The sign on the front blew off due to Hurricane Maria, but it's there and it's good. The wait staff and owners are very pleasant, and the bathrooms are clean! A definite must. read more

Mexican food is now a staple of American culture, but when you find a place where the food, service and prices are all in synch; Excellent! You tend to go back again and again and again and yet again. Cilantro's is such a place. Milton and Luis remember you and even if it is your first time, they make you feel like an old time friend. Try the ceviche; you can easily taste the freshness of the ingredients and the churrasco tacos made with Angus beef are outstanding. Their creative mojitos are also great. Oh, their desserts are huge and really good. Stop by and be ready... You will not be disappointed. read more

Owner was super friendly, enthusiastic, and helpful espesially when it came ordering. Talked us out of ordering too much food. We shared Nachos and wife made it her meal. Thry were huge and very tastie. Chicken soft tacos were dark meat as is my preference. House green sauce had great flavor without an overwhelming burn. Red sauce served with tacos is also recommended. Salsa classics on the tv made for nice atmosphere at this hole in thd wall. Go there for sure. Neighborhood kids were loving it. read more

You need to ignore Tina G's review, she's obviously a high maintenance snob that only eats at 5 star restaurants. My wife and I loved the food and the owners are very welcoming. Honestly some of the best Mexican food we have ever had! Owners were incredibly friendly and literally said "every plate is created with the same amount of love". It tastes like it! Excellent ingredients made for a delicious meal. We had nachos with ground beef, soft tacos, hard tacos, the chicken club burrito, cilantro special and mar y Tierra quesadilla- all phenomenal and we would eat it all again. We are from Washington, DC and probably spoiled when it comes to good Tex-Mex. This place did not work for us. Staff was friendly but the restaurant is TINY, which means a good wait with no space to wait in. There are 3 4-tops and 3 2-tops. Maybe takeout would be easier. My burrito was just average and I found the slab of cheddar cheese melted over the top to be unappetizing. Chips are thick and hard. Guac had almost no flavor. If you are sitting around drinking cervezas and feeling peckish, this might be OK. But if you're looking for anything even slightly more upscale you will be disappointed. read more

Our family read other Yelp reviews about Cilantro, and so we decided to give this restaurant a try. The owner was very friendly and helpful, explaining many of the dishes. In the end, we ordered the shrimp diablo burrito which was very flavorful; the equally delicious churassco burrito; a quesadilla and a ground beef burrito. We also started off with the ceviche and some chips and dips which were also good. Our three kids who are all under the age of 8, enjoyed their quesadillas and Mexican sodas, as well as the movie that was playing in the background. Although the restaurant is quite small (only three tables of four and three tables for two), the food and friendliness was exceptional. This should definitely be a stop for those who are on their way to the El Yunque. We definitely plan to go back, even though we are only in Puerto Rico for a few more days. read more

Was trying to find some food on the way to El Yunque rain forest and stumbled on this place via Yelp. Food was amazing and super fresh. I ordered 3 soft tacos with pollo. Serving sizes were huge and prices were cheap. These were by far the best tacos I have ever had....and I have had a lot of tacos. If the owners were back home in DC they would give all the Mexican restaurants on the 14th and U St corridors a run for their money. Staff was really friendly and you could tell all the locals frequent this place. Go there. You won't be disappointed. read more

This place has less than 6 months but it has given the little town a place to brag about. It isn't a fast food, but a much better version of one. The burritos are huge and to die for. It isn't neither as known as Aurorita's or Margarita's, but wow, can't beat the service and coziness of the little place (only 3, 4-chairs table and 3, 2-stools tables). read more
