Customer Is King, right? I don't have a single good thing to say about this company. Not one. The actual internet service is bad, which lead me to call customer service over and over again. There was one time I was placed on hold while my call was being transferred, after holding for about 5min, they just hung up. There was this other time I asked for the rep's name because he wasn't even trying to run any sort of tests and continuously gave generic advices AKA turn it off and back on. He hung up on me after "could I get your name because this customer service is ridiculous". I would completely understand if I was berating the guy, but I wasn't so I don't. After about a week of constant tech support phone calls, I decided to cancel the service. Oh boy.. I had the engineering department call me 3 times on 3 separate occasions after they agreed to cancel after my next payment, trying to convince me to change my mind. After the first one, they started sending Chinese people to talk to me exclusively in Chinese, as if that would make a difference. I think that's a bit messed up. Cancellation finalized after this had dragged on for a week, with me repeatedly saying nothing but no I don't want your service. CIK Telecom is a terrible company. First of all, it took them about 4 weeks and about 5 appointments to get the internet installed. They kept rescheduling and when the technicians came, they just looked around and said they didn't have the proper equipment or needed more people or simply couldn't do it and left. Once we finally got it installed after a month, the real pain started. Even though they 'claim' to provide 75Mbps, don't be fooled. The internet cuts out every few minutes. Often time it would cut out for 20-30 minutes at a time. At peak hours, you will have almost no connection. From 7PM-1AM, you won't even be able to do searches on Google, let alone anything more complex. During the day it cuts out very frequently as well. I had to rely on my personal cell phone data to use the internet because of the unreliability. I feel like they purposefully throttle the connection during peak hours. Their customer service is terrible. Called them a few times and the people on the other end seemed to be very incompetent. They just repeatedly asked me to disconnect and reconnect the router and reset it a few times. Then they just gave up and rescheduled for another appointment. I knew more about the router configuration then they seemed to know. Highly recommend staying away from them. read more

I was with CIK for a year contract, only reason for me to stay with them, is because my mom from China. But the internet is not like they said, it is not high speed at all. The TV and the telephone line all depend on the internet, the phone always disconnected, this make us crazy when we have some important phone call. The TV have a lot of channel, but always uploading, most time can't watch at all. The customer service is horrible! They never be able to fix any thing right away, they always said they will call you back in 48 hours, but you will have trouble to really talk to them again. I finally cancel the CIK service, but they still charge me one more month, it is $ 92.89, that should including locate English channel, but they stop the service and still charging me. I call them several time, their answer is always will call me back in 48 hours, this since July 1st. I just decide pay they, and get rid off this nightmare. read more

On April 30 I paid with my credit card a service of internet with this company through their website, but I didn't receive any confirmation of my purchase, only a number that was showed me on screen. I called the company, and an attendant finished my purchase saying they would contact me again. On May 3rd I call again because nobody had contacted me. After my complaint, they sent a box with some equipment and said the installation will procedure Saturday the 8th. They installed the service without checking out if it was working, and I should connect the equipment myself, and checking out if the connection was working, and it wasn't. On the same day, I emailed them complaining about the service and asked for a solution. Since then, the internet is up and down all the time without a reliable 2 hours without losing connection, especially after 8 pm and mornings. As I didn't like the service, and the poor quality of the costume service, I've decided to cancel the service and contract. I emailed them and asked for the cancelation with less than 1 week of use. This look's my biggest mistake Signing up with CIK, I was scheduled a installation on Friday Aug 14 2015, between 12 pm and 5 pm. The bell guy showed up at my office around 2 pm, He wasted 4 hours of his and mine because we already had acanac connection but he disconnected the internet when he came in, He took 2 hours of break in his van and I had to personally go and call him and request him that if he can get my internet back and running so that I can run my business, As we have our card processing machine working on internet as well we were not able to take any card payment, We already lost customer's worth $300 + because they din't have cash on them. Anyways at the end of the day the bell technician tell's me that he is not able to figure out what's going on and say's he can't fix it. I asked him to that would the existing connection still work. and he said that I can't even fix that back on. I asked him that what do you mean that you can't fix that, at least put it the way it was and it will start working again, He said that he is going to make a call and come back. But I was watching him he went out and put all his stuff in the van and ran away. I finally called up cik and they transferred me to a lady named " Varsha " She tried to help me but I think that they don't have any authority to do anything. She told me that the technician will be rescheduled after 5 business days. Now This is what I understand that a bell technician send by CIK come's in and disconnects my existing internet and now you guy's want me to shut down my place for 5 days and sit at home, Because without internet we all that work here at A1 liquidation are useless. We have had 3 appointments for installation and none of which filled. 2 of the 3 appointments a technician didn't stop by or let us know why they couldn't make it. Each customer representative gave me different information regarding my account. Even though I closed my account, they still charged me monthly, multiple inconsistent invoices, and many discrepancies in their totals. Then when I refused to pay they sent my file to Collection Agency!!!! It affected my credit score. They have rude staff who have no knowledge of the product or my account. The 1st staff I talked to admit to the invoicing mistake but then after being on hold for a long time she changed her mind. Then I would ask for a Supervisor and he would lie and tell me a different story. After that, I asked to speak with the Manager and he would lie about the nature of my account and say something totally different from the first 2 people I spoke with. I ended up paying the bill after 3 hours of wait and arguing on the phone with this company. The Manager threatened me as well and with a smug tone said "Don't worry, your invoice has been sent to a collection agency. You now have to deal with them." To date, I still have not received a confirmation from CIK Telecom or the Collection Agency that the mistakenly outstanding bill has been paid. Terrible service, waste of time. Horrible customer service. I went with the new fiber option my condo had. The first problem was not the technician's fault or the company's. Our condo unit couldn't reach the installation box and the technician tried for two hours. The main issue was what happened next. The technician said he would communicate this to the company and send a senior to try since it was a known issue in the building. We called the Cik Telecom support which was where the problems began. After a 20 minute wait, the support person couldn't be heard, there was too much feedback. We were put on hold and transfered to someone else. This person spoke with a thick accent and didn't understand me properly. I said I wanted to schedule the senior technician to come as the other person said. He went ahead and cancelled my service. He said he can't offer it to my building. He couldn't explain further and just hung up. My wife and I were upset at this point because we cancelled our existing service already. We called back and spoke to another person who couldn't understand or speak to us clearly. Instead of helping us out and resolving our lack of internet issue, they could not offer us a competitive deal. Not only did they waste our time, but they were not sympathetic to the predicament they put us in. We felt mostly blindsided when the technician said it was fixable but the company would not have called us to schedule an appointment had we not sought them out. 0 stars. The adviser offered me a 30mbps download and 10 Mbps upload plan. I made my decision to go with CIK based on this. When I received my first bill it was only 5 Mbps upload. I called customer service to ask them to honour the plan I had been offered. They did everything to avoid taking responsibility. I had to press them to review the recording of the call with the adviser who offered me 10mbps upload. They confirmed what I had been offered, but were unwilling to do anything to honour the upload speed (which made me decide to choose this service provider). Now I'm stuck with a plan I didn't choose. they won't even refund my installation costs and bill, so that I can go with a different provided. Dishonest and Terrible customer service. read more

Don't bother with CIK. They throttle and slow your internet during specific time periods (e.g. Friday night, Saturday night). That means you cannot watch netflix, movies, or play games during this time period. It's low price is scam when it's service is especially terrible. read more

Good morning, CIK telecom has a very poor customer service agents in English and french. on April 26th 2018 there was suppose to be a pre authorized debit from my banking account of $122 and change but the debit never done, but on may 1st there was 3 debits taken at the same time of $32 and change as well on May 7th 2018 in amount of $122 and change that created $160 in NSF fees. I spoke to supervisor on May 10th and i was told that they will need to hear all telecom recording and within the 24-48hrs will get a call back. It's June 6th and i still get the same answer, meanwhile they cut my services and made a payment $123.00 on may 31st and was told the same time that the decision still wasn't done and the services can't be reconnected if no payment is done. I also got My brother to connect with CIK Telecom in the Month of April that i was suppose to get a 20 Credit for referral and as of today still no credit. If you're thinking of purchasing CIK Telecom services please run away as fast possible. We had their FTTN 50/10 for a little less than 2 years. The network was kind of iffy: We live in an area built after year 2000 and the Bell technician told me the line could go up to 98Mbps. I found the speed does not always live up, and very now and then I found I had to reboot the modem to get the intenet. I do not blame CIK for this, as I guess this is probably part of the FTTN problem. I just booked a Rogers plan (it was a sweet deal) so right now I am calling for cancellation. The CSR told me that there is no refund on partial monthly fees! So I had to pay for the internet I am not going to use till the end of the bill cycle. CIK are the fullest pieces of shit. You will pay for 120D and get 0.06D or zero. Unless you are connected to the modem (ethernet), you will be going to sleep early...at 6 pm...when it lags forever. You will not be able to attend online lectures and you will be made fun of by your boss during video call meetings about your internet connection. Very affordable internet service provider. Can be slow at certain times, i.e. 8-9 pm, not sure if this is the fault of CIK or Bell. Customer Service is not the greatest, since they have to contact Bell to do installations and etc. But otherwise satisfied with what I paid for. I have used Rogers, Bell, Teksavvy, before, they all suck. CIK isn't the best, but at least they are much more affordable than the other providers. Plus, no over use charges for data. read more

I had an agreement for 2 yrs on Sep 19,2020. 1000Mbps. but i have had a poor download speed less than 300 Mbps for 2 yrs. A technician visited to fix the speed but he also didn't find why. on this September, I tried to switch my plan into 300 Mbps. but they insist and force me to use 800Mbps for one yr. Finally I requested to cancel my account on Sep 18,2020. ( the last day of agreement). CIK telecom made my internet disconnected on Sep14,2020. It is currently 1:54am, way past any peak usage time for cable internet. Yet, download has been consistently at 0.46 Mbps download, 5.19 Mbps upload. 0.46!!! Unbelievable. Not unlimited internet, they will throttle you once you hit 200 GB. Once you get throttled you have to go complain to their tech support which is some indian fuck on the other side of the world. The download speeds are always inconsistent and upload is garbage as well. Can't even get 1 mb upload when I am the only one using the internet. Use a legitimate speed test website to get actual speeds instead of the one the tech support tells you to use (speedtest.ciktel.com), or else you will get heavily inflated speeds. read more

i tried very hard to like them as it seems they offer competitive products, it is frustrating to have to conclude, after a year of trying, and most particularly in recent months, the company is yet to be ready for prime time. i advice fellow consumers to stay away from this company unless you are able to accept sub-par service level, intermittent (and up planned) downtime, and enjoy having to chat with their tech support and perform repeat diagnostics every once in a while, then told that a support agent will arrive after hours/days being down, and then to spare time off from work to accommodate the repair. I have never ever been more disgusted by how bad the internet they provide actually is. When you do a speed test, their internet is usually what the advertised speed is provided you have a good router or ethernet BUT when you actually use for something that's not a speed test like Youtube or play any game your internet becomes literally unusable. Any download on Steam or any website is throttled to hell. Sure they "deliver" the speed that they advertise but you literally can't watch Youtube videos above a certain resolution 480 at least near the Toronto area. Spent a total of 5 hours on the phone with their tech support. 1 hour total of wait time. 1 hour for them to verify my information, 2 hours of me turning off my modem, unplugging and replugging and waiting for lights to turn on. 1 hour of waiting for them to transfer me to higher ups.
