This cigar shop is one fo a kind. The Box prices can't be beat by anywhere. The member benefits more than pay for themselves, along with having a place to sit and relax without the usual rif-raf. After buying here for a year, I decied the membership would work, and I enjoy it everyday for lunch. Hands down can't be beat. I do attend several other cigar lounge locations around the area, and found this to be the only one I am a member, the benefits are too good here. Thank you Bob, Aaron and Sean. (oh and Odie also). read more

This location is closed. For-lease sign in window. Empty store. Have they moved or just out of business?

I discovered Cigary while heading down Skokie. I needed some Boveda bags and discovered a whole lot more. They have a nice selection of brands and sizes so I got some good shorties for summer smokes. The store associate was very friendly and happy to assist me. read more

This place is the best great service, selection, and absolutely wonderful value!! Bob and Aaron are the best of the best! WOOH!

Nice selection but some of the workers can be incredibly snobbish to people new to cigar smoking. I asked for a cut and the worker said "I kinda mind but I'll do it" while he was doing it I said "I had to do it with scissors last time haha". He looked up at me and said in a serious tone "don't tell that story to anyone ever again" I was just trying to make casual conversation while making my purchase, I don't need to feel dumb on top of that. Seems like they like taking out their frustrations on the customers. I spent $70 and I wish I didn't - next time I'll take my money to another store. The non cigar smoke shops have been nothing but accommodating and nice. They have some cigars as well. Definitely more of a relaxed shopping experience read more

They overcharged me for a cigar . It was $30 and they said my total was $41?! $11 tax ??? Counter guy was a d-bag. Also, $10 to use their lounge ?! GTFO! Won't be going back ! read more

First time here, I didn't really enjoy the 'exclusivity' of the smoke room in the back. Who wants to smoke in their house, car or around non smokers? Yeah, none of the places I ever went to charge to smoke inside. They have a rack for good value prices, overall... super expensive compared to Old Chicago Smoke in Highland Park or Big Mike's in Skokie. I won't be back to Cigary. read more

Aaron takes excellent care of his customers. Their selection and prices are great. Highly recommend!

excellent prices, great selection, and educated store staff. Bob is the best and the lounge is a great place to relax. The lounge has leather chairs, flat screens TVs, coffee, and wifi. What else do you need? read more

Offering a large variety of cigars from which to choose, as well as great package deals, this is the best cigar shop in the greater Chicagoland area. I personally enjoy sending my husband there to enjoy a smoke in the lounge, so that I can have my nails done in peace next door. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful in matching you to cigar(s) you'll truly enjoy. We are routine customers and benefit greatly from the rewards system, also. read more

In a whole new world from when they first opened up here, the Cigary has managed to adapt and still provide a haven for smokers to gather and celebrate the tabacco leaf and its add ons. With high end shaving kits and accessories in the front counter, to the well stocked and maintained walk in humidor, this place can provide the man's man a good few minutes of entertainment sans boobies. (and yes ladies with the boobies can have the funs here too!) The guys behind the counter are attentive and approachable and the hours go late enough (til 9pm) for these parts to provide quality choices. My issues with the place is the beautiful smoking lounge furnished with large leather chairs and satellite hooked up HD's is member's only(or at least people with $10 for cover) even after dropping some coin on some smokes from the humi and that prices labeled on the smokes do not include tax which other places already normally include or waive so remember to take that into account when filling up your puff pouch. Also the smoke eaters seemed to be under powered even when the lounge was half full the smoke got pretty thick and reminded me why I actually enjoy smoke free places. Luckily I "knew" somebody to help "waive" the fee to allow me to enjoy my newly purchased highly taxed sin item on premises. Also BYOB, as well as right next to a thai place for the quick pad thai and smoke session. read more

This place is highly overrated on this website. The selection was poor, there was no walk in humidor and despite that I was going to stay, however the lounge is $10 a person because it's a members only lounge. That and the crappy spiel one of the rude workers gave me that went like this: "hey, I ordered a $50 dollar steak at a restaurant the other day and they charged me for the wine." I don't quite understand how that justifies charging $10 to sit inside a small, run down and cheap looking lounge but that lame story was enough to have me walking right out. By the way I am a very frequent cigar smoker and have traveled all over the world, so I know what I'm talking about. DO Yourself a favor and go 2 miles up the street to Cigar King... It's amazing, has a huge walk in humidor, no charge to smoke, friendly staff and a pool table! read more

I've been going to Cigary for years. Their selection is good and Aaron and Bob are friendly guys. That said, there are other tobacconists in the area that have similar selections, but offer their wares for at least $1 to $2 per stick cheaper. These others also have open smoking - compared to Cigary's private club. Will I continue to shop at Cigary, yes. But only if my wife asks me to accompany her to the nearby mall for an afternoon of shopping. read more

There are a few places around this area to pick up a solid gar, but the Cigary has quickly become my favorite. To put it simply, they have a solid selection, their family owned staff knows their stuff, and they have an incredibly nice lounge you can smoke in (more on this soon). The only down sides are Cook County tobacco taxes (what else is new?), however, the shop offsets this with a solid pricing, and discounting on boxes. I do find myself in the lounge a few days a week. Not only is it very comfortable, but it has wifi (which allows me to work and write these FANTASTIC reviews :) ), HD TVs, and a soda machine and fridge to compliment your BYOB. (Side note: Fantastic liquor store Schaefer's is a quick drive down the street, and worth a stop before coming up) Finally, one of the nicest things about the place is the overall atmosphere. The clientele here is some of the nicest I've ever experienced in any setting. No one is a stranger unless they want to be. It's an interesting dynamic, and something that should be experienced by any cigar lover. read more

$10 to use the lounge? There are many cigar shops that don't charge to smoke on premises. Neuman's In Liberytville and Vernon Hills, Old Chicago Smoke Shop, Up Down Cigars in Chicago, A Cuban Experience in Waukegan. When they said $10 to me I just turned around and walked out. Screw that noise, go find a friendly place that wants people to be there and be social. I wont come back. read more

I've shopped around many cigar shops over the years and Cigary is one of my favorites. Good prices and the staff are knowledgable and very friendly. Me and my Greek buddies like to shop here and I've recommended Cigary to many people. I've seen their lounge but haven't tried it yet...even though it appears small, it gives a sense of being a private, quiet exclusive room but yet inviting. Pretty cool. read more

Excellent selection. Awesome Staff. smells awesome and the lounge kicks ass. Whats not to like!

Cigary is my favorite cigar shop in Chicagoland area.. They have a great selection of hard to get cigars, and all the classic stuff. All the Padrons and Rare Opus X cigars, you could want!! Bob is the owner, along with his son, is a great and knowledgeable guy. I drove down to check out Cigar King, and I bought a romacraft cigar there. And it tasted like ash tray. Well on my way to cigar king I saw Cigary. After Cigar King left a bad taste in my mouth, I went to Cigary. Just wow, this place is awesome, I was able to score some rare pipe tobacco and some rare tatuaje cigars. Bob was excited to show me all the cool stuff the shop had to offer. If I lived in the area, I would be a member. Great place!!!! Oh yeah I called today, and I spoke to Aaron. Aaron was a genuinely nice guy. I really enjoyed talking to him. Please do yourself a favor and CHECk THIS PLACE OUT!!! read more

Posted by Yasoob Ahmed | The reason I got into Cigar smoking is because of the guys at Cigary. The selection unlike any other shop. The Lounge is private and worth the price. Get a locker and a bottle and Enjoy! read more

Outstanding selection. As good or better than any in the city. Prices a very reasonable. What sets them apart is the staff. Bob and his team are great at understanding your taste and matching you with new cigars to experience and great advice. The lounge in back is a perfect place to hang and enjoy a stick with some good people. read more

Cigary has an excellent choice of high quality smokes that are difficult to find at most shops, they have been very accommodating and professional. The lounge is top shelf, a great spot for relaxing, watching anything and smoking everything!!! Highly recommend to all cigar aficionados!! read more

Good selection but excellent place to hid from the Wife / Girl friend / Boss, because they have a smoking room in the back with leather armchairs and large screen TV. The Price for the smoking room is 10 bucks but the owner is willing to negotiate if your willing to come back. Free Coffee, wifi is unknown. read more

Stellar store in great location. I have been in plenty of cigar stores around the country and this measures up. Selection is fantastic all kept in large humidor. Never have I returned a cigar because it wasn't in good shape...not even in the middle of winter when it is most difficult to keep cigars from drying out. Bob, Aaron, Ryan and & Ken run a good operation and keep nearly an encyclopedic memory of makes, sizes, manufacturers, and availability of cigars. Plus free parking lot and smoking lounge ( membership fee worth it) make it easy place to hang out for a bit. read more

A fine establishment. What a huge humidor and wonderful selection. Employees are friendly and helpful. Close to everything. Cigar Lounge is not important to me as I get what I like and get on to my next stop. Highly recommend this shop. read more

I must respond to Maria's false review of the Cigary - First of all, Maria must be blind as there is an enormous, immaculate and wonderful walk in humidor. It's rude to lie about a small business on Yelp. Shame on you Maria! Yes, the lounge is members only, but non members can use the lounge for a small fee. What's wrong with that? The lounge is hardly run down like Maria claims - it's absolutely beautiful...leather chairs, dim lighting, oak floors and multiple flat screen tvs - and wifi. Maria - take another look. You clearly have no clue what a high class lounge looks like...perhaps you should go "smoke for free" at other locations - you will probably be a better fit! read more

Sent my wife in with specific written instructions as to what I wanted. The person went right to the cigars and gave them to her. She returned with the wrong ones, Maduro wrappers, NOT what I had written down. When I went back two days later, Aaron told me that they didn't have the ones I asked for. The previous worker said that he didn't have what my wife asked for so he "gave her what we had". What??????? So Aaron ordered them for me right on the spot, and I returned again (three trips total for 6 lousy cigars), and they were there waiting. I'm still a customer at this point, willing to return, but instead of saying sorry, or apologizing for the mistake, I got "glad I could help you out". You helped all right. Helped me decide to give someone else my business! read more

I just started to visit Cigary the last couple of months and was going between them and Cigar King. After meeting Aaron a few times I was just overly impressed with his attitude and demeanor toward me as a customer. Aaron is a gem and always the good business man. The entire staff is pleasent and the product they sell is of the best quality. I have certainly made it my home away from home when I want to get away for a few hours. I should consider becomming a member at some point. read more
