Smokes & Such was bought out by the most shady and unprofessional people. Went in twice since they where bought out. Each experience left me shaking my head in regret. 1st off, the dude who runs the shop is inappropriate. Brought my woman in and he could not stop staring at her, so keep that in mind if you are trying to find a good head shop because this no longer is. 2and, this guy ups ALL of the prices and loves his punchline, "You can't find better prices than here..". Yes you can. Tyson wraps are less than $4 a piece. He tries selling them at $6 a piece, then ties to hook you into buying 4 to get 1 free so you'd pay $24 + Tax for something that should cost you $20 + Tax for 5 wraps payed in full. This guy does this to ALL the wraps man, doesn't matter which ones you get. 3rd, this guy judged me by my looks before he tried to sell me. What I mean is, I came in and the first thing he tried selling me on was an overpriced (because he's ripping you off), updated PAX vaporizer, for nearly $400 when it really was roughly $50 cheaper off the PAX website. I mean thanks for assuming I'd pay for that, but no true salesman would start with one of the MOST expensive items in their inventory unless they where either judging you or simply trying to make you buy as much as possible (which he does too). 4th is, this guy follows you around the store giving you no free space. He's always in our bubble following us around everywhere, constantly asking what we wanted and suggesting everything he can think of. That makes the experience stuffy, but honestly you can't even browse the shop without his paranoid self breathing down your neck. 5th, this guy tried to sell me a case of 10 Acid Cigars with 9 cigars in it. Glad I checked before I bought it. However, if you call him on it, he blames the company that makes the cigars, like come on.. be original at least. 6th is, the guy thought I was underage the first time I came here after the switch in ownership, but after checking my ID he still wasn't satisfied and wound up admitting that he sold to underage minors, and got in trouble for it already. 7th and final note is, there are so many options out there for great glass and selection, but for these inappropriate, stuffy, paranoid people keeping the name of a once successful and wonderful business to try to pretend that that their the same wonderful shop that tended to it's community's smoking needs and then some, is pathetic and misleading. 0 stars if I could. This is the best smoke shop I have ever been to. The entire staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to help me quit smoking cigarettes after 24 years of smoking. It was a process that I don't think I would have been able to get through without their help and knowledge. No matter how dumb I have felt my questions have been, none of the employees have ever made me feel like I was dumb for asking. The store is always super clean and organized. Nice little shop. Friendly cat. I take a drive out of the city to go there for tax reasons mostly. I have bought some glass there, but nothing fancy. Good quality though. I would say that they need to go through their ejuice and ditch all of that expired product. Bought a bottle last week and got a bottle for free. Both were expired. Smokes and Such is a place I am tremendously happy is in my area. Everytime I go in I know that I will be able to get what I want, and have spent plenty of coin in the location. I wish they had a little bit more inventory, but what they have suffices. I've only once have come in and was slightly disappointed that they did not carry 1 product in particular that would give this place 5 stars in my opinion. I really liked this place. Glass was affordable and they were nice. I recently bought a vape pen for $100. Not cheap, but I considered it an investment. The vaporizer they sold me was broken, and the manager refused to speak with me. I might as well have thrown $100 bill on the ground because now I'm out A LOT of money. Super disappointed. I would prefer to give Smokes and Such negative stars for being such jerks to a good customer! If all you want is rolling Pappers or lighters - this place may be ok. However, the minute anything goes wrong with one of your purchases the whole store runs for for the hills,especially the older woman who I think is one of the owners!! I was a fairly good customer having spent probably $20p over the past 18 months, maybe more. Everything was perfect until my Mini I Stick by Eleaf broke. It was less than 45-60 days and I paid $30 less small discst. All hi tech vapes! Cartridges and new toys invariably break! The industry is in its infancy and trying to kick out 100,000 new toys per quartet without adequate testing or product knowledge at any level in the sales chain! All I asked Chris was for help. Period. I knew better than to ask from my money back. By new the older woman came out with her arms folded and looking very stern along with several more sales people! Chris was like a dear in the headlites. So he started getting really nasty. I swear all I asked was for help! I wanted ELeafs, the manufacturers, phone number. Not too much to ask. My next question was to give me a copy of my receipt. Chris remembered I had bought it lass than 45 days ago! But I never got the chance to ask for it - by then Chris was telling me leave.!!! I did call Eleaf when I got home. They are listed. First thing they told me was to talk to company I bought from - - hahaha!! they would certainly help me! All I needed was receipt! Eleaf would have given me full refund! Without receipt I got nothing. Thanks again to friendly people at Smokes and Such! As it turned out, my Blue cartridge gave out also within a week so I am stuck with $60 of problems because Chris would do nothing but look down at an empty box like the goofus he is. And the owner should be quartered and whipped for being the worst woman in customer service I have ever had the misfortune of meeting! Shouldn't she have introduced herself and tried to help? I guess I was hoping for too much. These are very small minded people that deserve a very small business I swear that everything I just told you happened exactly as I laid it out - as hard as it is to believe! Some of us still smoke, despite Chicago's having passed the indoor smoking ban a while back. As I am one of those "some of us," I always look for the best prices on tobacco. Let's face it - if you're brand loyal because it's "your brand," rather than because you like the taste, you're a BOOB. They are ALL simply nicotine delivery devices, and it doesn't matter if it says "Camel" or "Kool" or "Cigarette" on the label/pack/carton; they're pretty much ALL the same, except for minor variations in taste. If you're used to driving outside of Cook County (perhaps even to IND) to get better prices for smokes, now you can STOP DOING THAT, because there's a place in Skokie that will give you prices like it's 1999! At Smokes & Such, you get a whole carton (yes, CARTON!) for what you'd pay for 3 PACKS anywhere in the city! No, your carton won't say "Winston" or "Newport" on it. SO WHAT? What you'll get when you go into Smokes & Such for the first time: 1) Knowledgeable staff that will ask you what brand you're used to, and will give you a sample or two of theirs for you to compare. 2) A tub of your choice of tobacco, which you will load into the Roll Your Own (RYO) machine, and a box of tubes (pre-rolled and filtered empty cigarette papers), which will be loaded into the machine as well. 3) When instructed, you'll push the "OK" button on the machine, and your smokes will start being made. They end up in a tub at the bottom of the machine, and you fill your carton as you go - the whole process from start to finish takes about 8 minutes. 4) You will be ASTONISHED at the price, and wonder why you haven't been coming here for years - a reasonable thought, but since they've only been open about 10-11 weeks, you can be forgiven your ignorance up 'til now (not from this point on, of course...). Other reasons to switch to RYO smokes: NO ADDITIVES! You ~DO~ know that Illinois is now one of the states that requires manufacturers to put in yet ANOTHER chemical in the paper - on top of the ones that are already in the tobacco - to make your cigarettes stop burning if they are left unattended in an ashtray for more than a minute, don't you? (Guess what? When there are NO chemicals in your smokes, they often go out on their own, too... interesting that tobacco companies have to put in chemicals to counteract the chemicals, innit?) The lack of additives means that you are getting a purer, cleaner (yes, yes, I know - no such thing - shaddap) smoke, which means that you will tend to SMOKE FEWER CIGARETTES, since you will be getting the nicotine you crave in a less diluted, chemical-free from. Personally, I have cut down the amount I smoke by about 1/3 already. If this review isn't enough to get you to at least TRY Smokes & Such, you DESERVE the high-priced, chemical-laden coffin nails you currently pay through the ass for. And you probably smoke Marlboros. I called for information and the owner told me to come in. She explain to me on how the government put in chemical in the cigarettes tubes and the Tabac o. She was very friendly and helpful. She asked me what brand did I smoke and then she came out with a freshly role cigarettes and told me to try it. It was better than my old big name brand and burn so much slower. I highly recommend this place to smokers off all kinds. You want it they have it. The cat is really friendly and cute and Im a dog person. This is my story and my though. Great customer service!! and great tasting tobacco also. I really like their Natural tobacco, it tastes better than marlboro and any other name brand. The prices on their glass pipes/products are decent! The only thing that I didn't entirely like - and this can go both ways - is the fact that i had to roll my own pack of squares. It can be fun, and a new thing to learn, but when i'm tired from work and i just want a good cig, i'd appreciate it if they offered the option for them to roll the pack up for me. I really want to see this place boom with business because they deserve it. Honest to good people trying to make a difference. P.S. sign the petition to stop further cook county tax on tobacco! the government is basically FORCING these people to tax their tobacco higher than they initially wanted. I have been a customer of this location for over two years. Always enjoyed my shopping experience until today. I purchased 4 packages of Juul pod 4 packs. I opened one a couple of hours later and found all the foil backing torn and 4 empty Juul pods. Of the 3 other packages 1 other was just the same and the other 2 were fine. I immediately returned to the store and was greeted by the young woman who I had purchased from 2 hours earlier "Back again". I then explained why and showed her the four packages including the two with empty Juul pods. She responded these look used, Juul wouldn't ship those. I replied that they had because this was how I found them upon opening them. She said that I didn't have any evidence and she couldn't just take my word for it. This is after I had been in there just two hours before and that having a registered phone number she could have easily looked up and found out how much I had frequented the store before. Also, this is a known Juul problem as I have had another retailer insist that I open the Juul packages I was purchasing from them in front of them because there had been issues with other of their customers having found empty or opened Juul pods in their packages. I was appalled to be treated this way as a regular customer. To be accused of fraud when It was in fact me that had just been defrauded. I will not return. read more

Great place to buy smokes. I have smoked one of the major brands for over 20 years. After trying a similar cigarette from smokes and such, I am a permanent customer. Doug is very helpful and knowledgeable. He knows all the products he sells very well and can answer all of your questions. The RYO smokes are great, I cough less and seem not to be as tired as I have been in the past. After a few cartons of the RYO smokes, I tried 1 cigarette of the major brand I used to smoke, uugghh !!!!. I can't believe I used to smoke that stuff before. i was never a big fan or RYO because i could never roll a good one even with the little plastic roller. i was a loyal camel smoker also. but my friend found this store and i had'nt even realised it was right around the corner from me. i dont have 2 pay 7,8,9 dollars for a pack that ususally lasted me about a day. i dont even have 2 pay $70+ for a whole carton of cigs!. i LOVE that 200 cigarettes cost me less than $30. not only can u get a great deal on a carton of RYO, the people there are so nice 2 talk 2. very helpful and cool. my personal fave about goin there is the hope of seeing the store pets. there's a very social cat (which i love!) and just as social and loving dog. i am a repeat costumer and am still trying 2 convince my friends 2 save their money and switch 2 RYO! read more

hey these folks at smokes and such are great. they turned me onto making my own cigarettes and saving aloooooot of money. great store great prices high quality tobacco. you have the option of making the cigarettes yourself or they make them for you. I bought the electronic cigarette injector and I make my own. best investment yet. my carton of cigarettes cost me about $17. its $30 if you would like them to make them for you but its about a couple days wait. they have a cat too in the store ready to great every customer that walks in. read more

If you enjoy paying 10 dollars for a pack of cigarettes you're a moron and you can stop reading this now. I just know that I got fed up with the high prices and I would go back and forth smoking and quitting, primarily due to cost. I don't have to worry about that anymore thanks to Smokes & Such! I couldn't believe how cheap it was. I honestly laughed when the guy rang me up. I got a 6 oz bag of tobacco, a box of 200 filter tubes, the little machine to roll them, and a lighter all for 22 bucks and change. I still can't believe it. They'll even give you samples to try so you don't walk out of there with something you won't like. Very friendly and helpful. If you're gonna smoke, economically this is the only way to go. But it's not one of those "you get what you pay for" kinda things. You might think at such a cheap price it's a shitty product, right? Wrong. It's just as good as anything you're currently overpaying for. Although they do have a nice variety and something for everyone, I wish it was a bit more extensive. But no big deal. I'm happy with the Turkish blend they have. And they could stand to be open a little later. But it's still a great place. After I write this, I'm gonna scroll down and wish I could just click on a half dollar sign because 1 is a bit much. read more
