I had to drive 30 minutes to purchase supplies for them and then, after the first day, they never came back until I threatened to cancel them and hire another company (as I hadn't paid yet I was in a better position). They finally showed up several days later just hours before the deadline I gave them. No call no communication at all. There was another company on their way to give another estimate for the remaining work when they finally showed. But after the work was completed the owner would call/text several times a day looking for payment. Never got anything, waited a few days, still nothing. I sent a nice message, still nothing, wrote another nice message, still nothing. Then I wrote a not so nice message letting him know I will write about his customer service in a review. Guess what? I got a reply. They will not be able to provide service now. Because I am clearly not a nice guy. Judge this on your own. But I find this to be very unprofessional conduct and cannot recommend them to anyone. I initially hired CIF Construction for a small project and was very satisfied with the work. When I later noticed a few minor imperfections, I reached out to the project manager, who assured me that someone would come by to address the issues. Unfortunately, no one ever showed up, and my follow-up texts and calls went unanswered. I decided to let it go, as the imperfections were relatively minor. More recently, I contacted CIF for additional home projects based on my overall positive first experience. The project manager--whose name I'll leave out--was very responsive at the beginning and told me a crew would arrive that Friday. When I reached out that morning to confirm the arrival time, I received no response. I followed up via text on Monday and again on Tuesday, but still heard nothing. On Wednesday, I called and was finally able to speak with the project manager, who apologized for the lack of communication and promised to send a revised quote that day, as I had added a few more items to the scope of work. That quote never arrived. After a few more days of silence, I sent a follow-up text asking whether he was still interested in the project, noting the urgency due to potential water damage. I never received a reply. I understand if a contractor is unable to take on a job. However, the complete lack of communication and follow-through is unacceptable. I'm very disappointed in the customer service, especially given the time-sensitive nature of the repairs. This was the worst contractor experience I've had. The workers didn't show up for the second day - nobody bothered to call and let us know, so we sat around waiting. When they did finally return (after several phone calls), they didn't complete the work as promised. When interviewing contractors, I specifically said I wanted the shower regrouted - CIF said it was no problem. When I inspected the finished work, he had re-caulked it and said "You must have been confused." Well NO, actually - I would never pay someone to caulk anything. It's incredibly easy and I've done it many times before. I asked for grout. I discussed this with EVERY contractor that came out and I thought that this is why CIF's quote was so high, as the other two did not perform grout work. Completely tried to gaslight me when I pointed it out during the walkthrough. Since then, we've heard nothing. No phone calls, emails or texts have been returned. They didn't provide a detailed invoice and photos, as agreed, for the insurance claim. They were wholly unprofessional and I'm regretting that I paid them on the first day before the work was completed, as now I'm having to file a dispute with my credit card company over this and probably hire an attorney. **EDIT** The Project Manager took the time to respond to my Yelp review, but still hasn't responded to any phone calls, emails or texts. The guys arrived on time, laid down plastic wraps all over the work zones to protect the floors, appliances, etc. They immediately went to work and did a stellar job at my drywall repairs. I had 4 different places that had to be patched due to a water line issue. At the end, you can not see any indication that the drywall was patched. Superb work!
