Cielo (translates to... sky, heaven, paradise) for us it was civilized bliss with an endless view. We visited just after happy hour (2-4pm) on a Monday and it was still pretty quiet. This place is a little secret in Scottsdale Mountain/Fountain Hills area. Secret is out and it is fabulous and I want to shout it from the hilltop that overlooks Fountain Hills. You are welcomed by the friendly valet and you enter what looks like a bleach wash casita in Santa Fe. The restaurant is immediately off the hotel entry and you naturally gravitate towards the expansive views (NanaWall sliding glass doors afford the immediate immersion into open air dining) into the restaurant. To start we tried the Brussel Sprouts (legit and delicious) and the Basil Blossom cocktail (absolute elyx vodka (distilled in a copper still), strawberry, orange, basil, and simple syrup served in the most exquisite metal copper coupe style glass). For entrees we dined on the Burger and the Cauliflower Steak (Ratatouille style) and tried another tasty libation, La Estrella (Casamigos Reposado, Cucumber & Cilantro Puree, Agave, with a rim of tajine). This place is serene, sophisticated (but not stuffy), romantic and relaxing. Good for groups, families, couples. Great menu to appease every dietary need. Staff is very attentive, friendly and helpful. Just a heavenly experience. We can't wait to ascend to the Cielo once again. read more

I have attempted to dine here twice with out of town friends. Each time we have been seated only to wait 20-30 minutes before we are acknowledged at the table. Furthermore, no one came to our table those two times. We politely got up and walked out. I will never try again, though this restaurant with amazing views is two minutes from my home in the Adero Canyon Community. I do not understand what is going on with this establishment. It is truly unfortunate. I cannot comment on the food as I've not had the opportunity to try anything. We have been at different times of the day and I've not been during dinner rush or lunch rush. Was treated horribly by female bartender while she fed her manager two full to the top stemless glasses premium wine and food while we were underpoured premium Napa and served cold food 45 minutes after ordering on an empty night. After reading some of the recent reviews I was reluctant to take my house guests there for dinner. I had been there on a number of occasions when this restaurant was under a different name and was always pleased with the experience. So this time was no different. My party had the ribeye steak, the chicken, and the salmon and they were all fabulous. The service was incredible, professional, and timely. Prices very reasonable compared to Scottsdale restaurants. I couldn't be more pleased with the dining experience. And the views are incredible...including front row seats to watch someone's wedding. I highly recommend this place. read more

I secured the reservation. When we arrived, the hostess and "manager" were arguing about where to place us right in front of us. There were open tables outside, but apparently we weren't good enough to make the cut. They denied our outdoor reservation and were extremely rude and unaccommodating. They seated us inside, and it only went downhill from there. The service was horrible. Took 20 minutes to get a drink and we weren't checked on after that. After finally getting her attention to order, we never saw our server again until she brought the check. Super frustrating. The food was subpar at best. I ordered the filet and was underwhelmed. The menu is quite pricey, so to have such low quality food was extremely disappointing. Save your time and money - take your business elsewhere! read more

Disturbing service at a supposed pet friendly hotel bar and outdoor seating. Having been here before, with my dog, I had thought I would return. I had the most unpleasant experience first and foremost at the bar area where I have sat before with my dog the bartender then demanded us move to a high top with my friends (where my shorter friend could not even sit), then had the nerve to come over to explain that I had to move because " if my dog barked". (my dog, never barks and should not have to explain )I told him I do not need an explanation, and he refused to leave. I had to ask him to leave again! Moreover, when we went to get seated, I noticed a couple come in after us, and the hostess gave this couple the seating with the view, and offered us a huge table that could sit away from the view. we had been waiting already 20 minutes we should've had priority to the couple that had just walked in. Made reservations through Open Table for a Sunday brunch. I was told the view was a must. So we drive from an hour away. Since it's brunch we haven't eaten yet and are pretty hungry after the drive. We arrive and immediately the valet guy says, "they're closed." What? We have a reservation! So we proceeded inside to what was going on. I mean, we have a reservation! Walk in and the place is almost empty except for a few people at the bar. Next to the hostess stand there was a sign that said, "We're closed." Are you kidding me? This can't be happening! The hostess arrives and I felt sooo bad for Isabella. This is not her fault, but I'm upset that they didn't value our time enough to call, email OR text. They had all of our contact information. I asked to speak to the manager. ANTHONY quite literally comes moseying over. Before addressing an angry customer he answers the phone. By this time they've wasted an hour and 30 minutes. Instead of immediately trying to rectify this situation, he has every excuse in the book. He stated they had to close the kitchen which isn't unheard of. However the way this was handled was way off. He stated he called each quest (he did not!). He tried to comfort me by telling someone else drove and hour and a half with their kids!!!!! Sirrr, that doesn't make me feel better! Better management would make me feel better! After everything was said and done he said they would take care of our meal. He actually expected us to wait until they opened up for dinner at 5pm. We are NOTTTT waiting another 3 hours for a free meal! I asked for his contact info and left immediately!! The food is so underwhelming, and the service has you begging for the check. We ordered three courses and all were lacking in flavor but never in price. The polenta and shrimp was 28$ but only four shrimp accompanied a big bowl of under seasoned polenta. The burrata dish was 21$ but simply a wilted salad with soggy croutons and a tossed on commercially bought ball of burrata. The filet that I ordered medium rare was 53$ and it came out medium well. The server was uneducated on wine, never present and didn't clear our second course until we asked for the check in the third course. I understand a busy night, but it was a Sunday and most of the tables that were there when we arrived were still there when we left. The WORST customer service! Does the bartender even know how to speak? Sat down for lunch right at 11am on Tuesday this week. No host, no menu, slow service. Unfortunately it's like this ALL the time. I really try to come and give them a chance since I live not more than 1 mile away but each time I try, it's a MAJOR fail! WHATS WRONG WITH MANAGEMENT HERE? This is our 4th visit as in the past we have been very please with our dinner choices and our server has always been so friendly and helpful but the bar area has always been disappointing. The service from their bartenders have been slow and rude. The view here is beautiful for dinner. This last visit for our 30th anniversary was disappointing first the bartender Dante was extremely rude and although the bar was not very busy he ignored us as we waited to order drinks. The bar service was horrible and there were two bartenders. Thank goodness our dinner and server was great. We get the bill and no surprise 110.73 with tip a couple days later I check my credit card bill and I was charged 1.110.73. I want to like this restaurant, but I just can't recommend it. It's located in the Adero hotel (formerly copperwynd) in a beautiful area of fountain hills with views of the mountains and fountain. The hotel was recently renovated with nice ambience and gorgeous views. The restaurant unfortunately is just so so, especially given the premium pricing. I go here for an occasional drink, but the overpriced menu item were frankly unpalatable. There are just far better options in the Phoenix area. read more

This restaurant is located at our hotel and is the only restaurant available there. We ate dinner on a Wednesday night and breakfast on a Saturday morning. The view of Fountain Hills is beautiful in the daytime and majestic at night. Each visit our servers were friendly and attentive. We both had a Caesar salad for dinner and I had salmon on mine. The salmon actually was cooked really well but the caesers left much to be desired. My husband despised the dressing (blackened caeser) and ended up not eating any of his salad. I thought the dressing was just okay. We also ordered grilled bread that came out cold and not even toasted though it did appear to have grill marks, which was a conundrum. For breakfast, my husband got the eggs Benedict which actually came out as a fairly normal serving of eggs Benedict; it just came out on a humongous plate so it made it look as though your breakfast was tiny. I ordered oatmeal, toast, and bacon. Aside from the caeser dressing, neither of us thought the food was horrible. The problem is that the value placed on the food by the restaurant didn't meet our quality expectations or standards for food at that price. That's especially compounded when this restaurant is the hotel's only option for food and is quite far from other restaurants in Fountain Hills. Overall I would suggest not going out of your way to eat here unless you're staying at the resort or hiking the trails nearby and simply want a pretty view while you eat. But be prepared for a hefty bill and to leave maybe not quite as satisfied as you would hope for spending as much as you will. read more

We ere guWe arrived a few minutes early for our indoor reservation. The young gentleman at the entrance informed us that we were going to have to wait or we could eat outside. He offered a heater and blankets. When I inquired about why we were going to have to wait with a reservation he indicated they had overbooked. And also said they were short on staff. We elected to go outside with the heater and the blankets. It was not uncomfortable at first and the view is spectacular. It was very clear they were short staffed, and it took a very long time for someone to even come to the table to give us water, then we waited to have our drink orders taken, then we waited again to get our drinks and order our mains. The bone in pork chop did not have a bone and once again we were in a waiting situation to get our check. This took about 30 minutes and our heater had run out of gas in the meantime, so it was very cold. Our waitress could not have worked harder, but they were definitely understaffed and the gentleman at the front basically did nothing but flip through an iPad the entire time we were at dinner. He certainly was not part of any team that was trying to assist guest. For the price the meal was OK and I would not recommend mainly because of the lack of adequate help. read more

We attended on opening night at The SkyTop for their outdoor dining globe experience! Our reservation time was for 8pm and to our surprise it was not busy. It made for a nice quiet night. The set up was real nice and there was a space heater inside the globe making it feel warm enough to enjoy the outdoors. There was also a Bluetooth speaker in our globe in which we were able to play our own music. On the business page, there was told to be carolers but we didn't get to see that. The service was average but we expected better since there was no one else there. Our server questioned a lot of things which made us confuse. Overall the food was alright. Our main entree was just okay. The wagyu was sweet and the salmon wasn't the greatest. We were given a box of treats at the end which was a nice surprise! The spicy margarita was a let down but the dessert was our favorite! Overall the experience was nice but I would say it was over priced for the whole package. read more

We finally had a night in at the hotel and wandered down to the bar to cash in our free drink coupon and have a bite to eat. Hailey, our bartender/server was an absolute gem from the get go. She directed us to the best dishes, served us perfect drinks, and made us feel like old friends. She made what could have been a boring evening super fun. The salmon and short rib she recommended were bomb, too. The hotel, on general, was filled with a great staff of people, but Hailey stood out from the crowd. i came to the adero resort and spa alone for the weekend and had the most amazing experience at their resturant cielo. i sat at the bar friday evening when i arrived and lorenzo and andrew were AMAZING. they were extremely talkative and made me feel like i wasn't alone and just sitting there. lorenzo worked throughout the weekend while i was there and made my experience at the bar so great!! everyone who served me gave excellent service and absolutely made my weekend. i enjoyed talking and getting to know both lorenzo and andrew and i can't wait to come back to hopefully see them! read more

My husband and I had dinner at Cielo on 2/13/2021 to celebrate his birthday and Valentine's Day. The restaurant had a four course menu available for dinner. Each course had a couple of choices. We also had two glasses of wine and I had a cocktail before dinner. We originally had made reservations for an outside table, but it was extremely windy, and we opted for an inside table. We received our drinks quickly, but after that, things went quickly downhill. It took an hour for our appetizer to be served. We enjoyed the appetizer (tuna tartare), but part of the enjoyment might have been due to the fact that we were famished at that point. It took at least another half an hour to be served the salad. The waiter kept apologizing and telling us our next course would be out "shortly." "Shortly" ended up being another half an hour. At this point, one of the managing staff came over and also apologized for the wait. However, at no point did any of the staff make an effort to remedy the situation or improve our experience, besides offering repeated apologies. We had beef tenderloin stuffed with lobster as our main course. One was rare, and one was well done. I should note that the waiter never asked us how we wanted the tenderloin prepared. Quite frankly, the beef tasted as though it had been left under a heat lamp to keep it warm. The desert was vanilla profiteroles. They were stale and bland. Very disappointing. We noticed that a couple of other tables had patrons that left before finishing their meals. In retrospect, we should have done the same. We live in Fountain Hills, and we had high hopes that Cielo would be a place we could bring out-of-town guests for a 5 star special occasion meal and experience. When you have a fantastic experience at a restaurant, you tell your friends, family and co-workers. When you have a disappointing experience, you tell everyone. He indicated they have a new Chef and will bring out a new menu 101/2021 which everyone is excited about. Our food was spot on. I agree with most of the other reviews: there is a lot of room for improvement at Cielo. It's pretty obvious that the only draw is the view. This could also be an amazing restaurant, but they should evaluate some changes. We found the menu to be extremely overpriced, and it's the worst kind of overpriced where the two of us shared an appetizer, two main dishes, an extra side dish, plus a desert: and still left hungry. We had the shrimp appetizer which I definitely would recommend to skip - it was shockingly bland. Our mains, the steak and salmon, were both well-prepared but small portions basically a la carte. The polenta fries side was "meh." I will not plan to return for dinner, but would consider it to come for a sunset drink. My husband & I had an amazing evening celebrating his Birthday at Cielo. Tina made sure our celebration was flawless. We started with the charcuterie board & Brussel sprouts, both were fantastic. I had the Fazzoletto Pasta as my entree. I was very happy as was my husband with his choice of the bronzed southwest kc steak. Tina was instrumental insuring our evening was everything we'd hopped for. We finished with New York cheesecake & Fallen chocolate soufflé as well as espresso. All of it was just wonderful. Went to dinner at Cielo this past Sunday to celebrate Valentine's Day with my lovely wife. Upon arrival we were told by the hostess that our table is inside against the window as it is windy outside and getting chilly. We arrived at our table to see that there is no window, it's actually a large telescoping glass door that was completely open easily considered an outside table. The view was amazing! The hostess was correct in regards to the wind and chill so I went back to my car to retrieve some sweatshirts as they were not willing to close the sliding door. The service and drinks.... Our server took a long time to take our drink order and even longer to bring them to our table. The Berry Old Fashioned tasted like fruit punch. Our server barely came to check on us. The food...A pre fixe menu was our only option. Apps came quickly. Ahi tuna and crab cake. They looked ok but not flavorful. The following courses came out one after the other. As we were eating our apps the salad came out so I pushed my salad to the side. Cesar Salad was ok. As we ate our salad, the entree came out. Pushed the salad aside. Entree's we're ok at best. Chicken pappardelle pasta with artichoke was meh. The tenderloin stuffed with lobster was not a good cut of meat and the server never asked our desired doneness. The flavor was not there and the lobster quality was questionable. Our server never came to check on us by the way. Desserts.... Chocolate lava cake was missing the lava and broke apart easily. The profiteroles seemed Costco store bought and thawed out. Not tasty at all. Final impression... I did read some not so great reviews about the food and the wonderful reviews of the view so we decided to go and see for ourselves. The restaurant itself, the grounds and the view were wonderful. The food and service were not to be desired. If it weren't for the company I was with, being my beautiful wife, the night would have have been a complete loss. Despite the food drinks and service we enjoyed people watching and each other's company which to me is priceless. As for Cielo, I would have preferred to drop $300 bucks somewhere else. I'd go back to Cielo's only to eat take out in my car in their parking lot to enjoy my meal and their view. read more
