I have to say I don't quite understand how this restaurants rating is so low. I guess everyone's experience is different. In my case we were a group of 6, seated by a window to enjoy the wonderful view. Server (Sean or Shawn apologies I don't know which) was quite helpful and did everything you could expect from a quality restaurant and server. The food was overall great everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the special of the day scallops over risotto and they were perfectly cooked and delicious. I loved the energy at the bar on a Friday night. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. I had the Friday steak special which was a braised short rib on polenta with carrots, with a side of Parker rolls. Very tender and full of flavor. For dessert I got the banana bread pudding with vanilla gelato to go. I love that they toast the pieces of bread pudding so it's crisp on the edges, yet soft and gooey on the inside. It's a bit pricey, but a nice splurge meal for sure. read more

Came to Cielo with our family and brought a cake for a birthday. We brought a cake pan and it wasn't returned back by the staff. We called the restaurant multiple times sent various emails and when they gave a solution that was not ideal for us we voiced that and they stopped responding. A little ridiculous considering the amount of money my family spent there during their stay. Would not recommend this place. read more

No gluten-free menu. only one choice of Chardonnay. i ordered a rare fillet mignon and when it arrived , it was medium well. we waited for a server that took 20 minutes to come only to complain that I had touched the steak. we asked for a manager who was nice and ordered a new one: rare. We did not have a great experience our first time we came to Cielo due to poor service so I wanted to try it again before making a review. We came in a second time on a Friday evening at 5:30 and sat in the bar area and unfortunately our experience was the same. The server we had seemed annoyed the entire time (like when we had to ask for more water which was the case the first time we came too) and then got our order wrong after choosing not to write it down. We put our order in at 5:45pm and the food did not come until after 6:30pm. The views are stunning and the drinks and food options are good but unfortunately we will not be trying this spot again. read more

Bar service and dining service in the evening was great. We ate in the restaurant 3 times and in the morning, it took quite a while to get service and then it seemed like no one knew who had our table. The person bringing our food was lost ... went looking on patio and everyone said not mine and finally ended up at our table ... food was barely warm but omelet was edible but potatoes were not. For price, not going back for breakfast. We had two dinner experiences. First night, sat at bar and had tortilla chips ... guacamole was great. Then moved to dining room for dinner. Horrible table arrangement... amazing view but tables are not situated to enjoy ... tables for two have one person with back to view. All tables are way too close together lined up in a row which makes dining very uncomfortable. Warm bread / rolls for starter was good. Shrimp and grits were great. Filet was ordered medium and was served rare ... ate edges but by the time server came back to check, we were done so too late to take back to cook a bit more. Manager made right though so no complaints. I have to say though French butter mashed potatoes were best I've ever eaten!! Drinks were good too. Next night hubby had risotto that was really good. I had chicken that was a bit weird in texture. It was ok but would not order again ... can't really explain but it seemed like pressed chicken ... as a chicken lover who makes it several times a week lots of different ways, I can't find the words to describe ... maybe way overcooked but had texture of a canned ham perhaps. Had to get the French buttered mashed pos again but they weren't the same as night before. Way more dense and not as buttery. But the Brussel sprouts were good and I usually hate them! Caesar salad, drinks and dessert were good. So overall we had two nice evening meals ... I think prices were high for quality of food but overall we enjoyed ourselves with service and manager being very attentive. read more

Sitting on their patio that showcases the iconic vistas, being able to see McDowell Mountains & Four Peaks by day, shining stars everywhere at night. Everything indulged was deliciously satisfying. From their Chilean Sea Bass, 24 hr Braised Short Rib off of their dinner menu. Waking up to their Classic Breakfast & Brunch Burger for lunch. It was so amazing to experience everything eaten was nothing short of tasty. Sean, server of the evening, did a great job. Dined at Cielo during a stay at Adero as we wanted to stay on property (and use our drink coupons). The bartender was extremely friendly albeit very very busy as the bar was slammed. The restaurant was packed without a reservation and would have been a long wait had we not sat at a table in the bar area. We had the option to dine outside under the night sky, but it was a bit chilly for that so we stayed inside. I was able to get a mocktail Aperol Spritz (my favorite), and my friend a real one. The drink way surpassed my expectations! The food was decent, we ordered the black bean hummus platter and the vegetables came squishy and old. They were kind enough to comp the platter and bring extra pita bread, and the hummus was still good! Otherwise, we ordered the Mushroom Risotto and Short Rib which were both good. The risotto was much cheesier than expected and was a huge plate! Definitely worth the price. Overall, great bar to grab a drink and good food when staying on property. read more

I had the CRISPY CHICKEN SANDWICH with "murdered" fries for lunch. Sandwich and fries both excellent. The brining apparently makes the chicken breast retain moisture. I sat at the bar looking north, and the view was spectacular. Staff polite and professional for this high end spa restaurant. Very nice view overlooking Fountain Hills. The food quality was good. However, the prices are high and the service only mediocre. They charge you $8 for a warm dinner roll. Aribella was a GREAT server- the other staff were terrific also. I was dissapointed because the wagyu burger was overcooked... again. This is the 3rd time in 6 mos and everytime I say please make sure it is medium well w pink in the middle and the cook just doesnt know how to do that. The onion ring on the top of the burger wasnt fresh or warm. It was reheated. The mojito and salad was also good. Just hate to see a piece of good meat be ruined. I didnt say anything because it was 9:20 & I didnt want to keep them or make my dinner guests wait to have it cooked again. Beautiful views but dont order the wagyu burger!! I went for lunch and the view is fantastic! There are floor to ceiling windows with a view of the drop from the mountains and you can see the city below. Just gorgeous! I thought I ordered a barbeque sandwich but it was a burger. It was pretty decent. After a while they all get to be the same. I got a side salad with it, and it came with chopped piqueno peppers, tomatoes and house vinaigrette with sesame seeds. Things here typically run about $25 and up and it's rather fancy. When I walked in, there was only 1 table of guests. They did check in on me once or twice. I probably spent 45 minutes here. read more

We had some Tacos on Taco Tuesday that were so very good. Then next visit, we tried a good variety of items and all were very good. It is a dark sky community and it is just the best feeling dining outdoors by the candlelight. They add the patio heaters as the desert evening cools down. So I had lunch there the other day would love this to be a great restaurant because I live very very close but you guys need to have at least one signature dish that you do well. I had the salmon and it was very very poor quality whoever cooked it had no clue the skin was rubbery not even cooked properly . Can I make a simple suggestion that a couple of people from the restaurant go to Buck & Rider and get their pan seared salmon with their Peri Peri sauce and figure out how to make good salmon cause there's is the best in town. One of our favorite relatively upscale restaurants attached to Adero Resort set on a hill overlooking Fountain Hills. Great ambiance inside or outside. The service is always excellent and very attentive with a team like approach. The food portions are adequate and the quality was good. My wife loved the preparation of her salmon with her salad. I thought my short rib roast was a tad bit dry, but the gravy with cheese grits complemented it nicely. The house red wine also helped. read more

Then quickly greeted by my server (shoutout Sean!) who was super friendly and attentive the entire evening. Food was wonderful, drinks and water were refilled promptly and I was visited by two different managers to check in on my experience. I was there for business dinners 2 nights in a row. This high end restaurant is located in the Marriott ADERO Autograph Collection Scottsdale hotel. On the first night, I had the salmon dinner along with Caesar Salad with anchovies. It was one of the best salads ever. They provided more anchovies than I could have imagined. The service was a bit slow as it took over 2 hrs from start to finish. The salmon was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Not too pricey compared to other items on the menu. You can order the Tomahawk for 2 special at $195 which is pretty much all inclusive of appetizer and dessert. On the second night, we had much better service. Lets just say the first night was 3.5 stars and second night was 5 stars. They have seating indoors as well as outdoors and we chose inside based on the weather. For my second night, I ordered the white wine pear salad. I highly recommend that as well. The Chilean Sea Bass was quite pricey as is most of the food and drinks. At $52 per plate, they do provide a very large portion. It was probably the best fish I ever had. Moist, tender and very flavorful. The drinks are good, but not great. I had a Bombay Sapphire martini which was $19 and probably had 1 shot of gin in it. No blue cheese olives either. The Cielo Pork Belly Brussels for $17 were definitely plentiful and delicious. A Piggy Back Old Fashioned was even more pricey at $22 per cocktail. You can pay for valet parking or if you don't mind the uphill walk, park with the hotel patrons for no cost. With drinks, apps and dinner for 4, cost was over $400. We fortunately got the chocolate lava cake on them since it had no lava. This is a great restaurant if you want to show off to a customer or friends/family. read more

So. This is why I need a half star - it's a solid 2.5 stars. It's got a great outdoor patio and the view is incredible. Parking is fine, and the drinks were good. The food was pretty hit or miss, and service was just okay. We came here for lunch after a hike, and we were hungry, and maybe hoping for more than we got. We got a few apps, and while the flatbread was okay, we also got chips, guac, and queso. They left much to be desired. My dining companions were more colorful than I, but they had some pretty apt descriptions. The queso was of "throwey uppey" consistency, it was like "grocery store guac" in taste and consistency, and the chips were "restaurant style bagged chips that you could buy at the grocery store." Overall, not impressive. However, our entrees fared better: I had the adult grilled cheese, add chicken, which ended up being a worthwhile addition. The Ahi wedge salad had a solid fish, but the salad part was nothing special. The burgers were good, but the fries were just okay. The service was fine but the kitchen was a hot mess - all our food came out at separate times. The chicken sandwiches were so late, most of us were done eating before they got their food. We also ordered a separate order of fries that never came, which turned out to be a blessing since they weren't all that great anyway. We went there for the views, and it was worth that. I wouldn't go out of my way for it, unless you're really set on checking out the view. I think this review would have been four stars had I not gotten dessert. I ordered the coffee gelato and it was so bad that I could not even finish it. It tasted like a vegan knockoff brand that you'd get at a gas station. I took a few bites and I just stopped. Five stars for the view. Three stars for the walk up the hill if you decide to park your own car. Three stars for the food selection available for lunch and for our server. We had to flag down two other servers during our lunch to get a refill and and extra plate. The tacos were good, the burger was undercooked. Fries were okay and, as mentioned, there are not a ton of choices for lunch, so you may not find something you really want. I am sure they have a bigger menu for dinner so that might be the best time to go. They also have telescopes in the lobby so you can star gaze at night. I tried to use one to look at the valley but I guess my telescope skills have fallen off since I last used one in grade school. It's a nice drive up to the resort, valet parking and self parking is available. It's right inside the front door so easy to get to. Has indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor seating area has a sliding glass wall that can be opened for very nice, non-windy, mild temperature days. We did enjoy our time there, just not the lunch. We came to Cielo to celebrate my 30th birthday + to have dinner with a view. We had asked to be seated outside to enjoy the view more + are so thankful for the heaters when the sun went down. Our server was absolutely phenomenal--she was attentive, friendly, brought us multiple wine recommendations to accompany our dinner, and ensured we had the freshest baked bread + salted whipped butter I've ever tasted. I could have filled up on the bread + butter alone. The Saturday + Sunday special for 2 was what we decided on for dinner & we had enough for leftovers for ourselves as well! We chose the honey glazed carrots, asparagus, and French butter mashed potatoes. I had to stop myself from over indulging because every single part of the meal was divine. It was truly so rich and full of flavor. To top it off, I had the salted caramel bread pudding with vanilla gelato. I am usually a big fan of bread pudding, but this bread pudding was out of this world. It was still crisp yet soft and full of flavor. The vanilla gelato was the perfect addition. Stayed here and decided to have brunch downstairs, everything was good until our middle age waiter name Rick with an awkward vibe, no eye contact, talking fast with attitude came over and asked if I was in the ET movie! Then laughed!! I'm an African American woman with big hair so I think he was saying I was ET! Not sure where that came from or why he would say that? Less talking and less attitude would be better!
