Came here once 6 or 7 years ago to get my nails done for my birthday. They were done beautifully! But I never returned bc I don't get my nails done often. I used to get lash lift and tints frequently about 2 years ago at a place in Alhambra but I stopped keeping up with maintenance. Last week I woke up one morning and randomly decided I wanted to start getting them again. Decided to try Cielo based off my prior experience with my nails and also bc it's about 8 min away from where I live. Booked day of, they had two slots open with Janelle. I ran about 5 min late due to not being able to find the building.....my oversight! Janelle was waiting at the front as I entered, we met, and she was courteous. She asked if I've gotten a lash lift before..once I told her I had, we got started. She did good in terms of customer service and ensuring there was no discomfort on my eyes throughout the process. I will say though, the lash lift and tint turned out to be MID. One lash was more lifted and darker than the other. There was also a good portion of product left on my eyelid despite the amount of removal she did. I feel that the lift was a little pointless because I am still having to use an eyelash curler...and mascara *eye roll* In terms of vibe and ambience.... once piece of advice would be to have a designated Spotify playlist. Not have someone skipping through songs or playing them half way. Heartless by Kanye West played THREE times. When your eyes are closed and you can't do anything, the only sense you have is hearing... You would want whatever you're listening to, to be pleasant. It was just annoying. Long over due with this review! I started coming here since 2016, but have been receiving services from Ashely Nicole for the last 2 years or so. She is THE best! Not only is she good at her job, she's sweet and attentive with everyone. She has a great vibe to. Her bubbly personality is so contagious! The 4 stars are for Ashley. She's always super professional and kind. You can tell she likes what she's does. A few weeks ago I went to get my eyebrows done with another eyebrow person there (not Ashley) and although the eyebrow job was good overall. She was pretty rough on me and because I felt she could have been kinder to my skin I only tipped $2 (I normally tip at least 5). Im sorry but if the service isn't good I am not forced to tip well. I feel she resented this. Also the following weeks I came again asking for an eye brow threading appointment and it was all full I made eye contact with this person and as I was leaving she approached the other eyebrow person and as I was leaving she kept on staring at me. It made me feel uncomfortable as she was about to start gossiping to her fellow co-worker about how badly I tipped or something. Now, when it comes to eyebrows I am very selective with who I go with. After the last person didn't do such a good job, I decided to go to Cielo Beauty Bar with Brenda, and she was amazing! I went to the Cielo Beauty Bar for the very first time last Friday and my appointment was at 2:30. Driving directions to the establishment are quick and easy. What you have to know is that there is no thru traffic due to outdoor dinning that spills into the street making it a walking only kind of situation. For my next appointment I would like to take advantage of outdoor dinning. The atmosphere seems friendly and inviting with eye catching lights that can easily draw a person in. But I digress, your best bet is to park in the public parking lots near by. I chose an indoor structure a block up and was pleasantly surprised to discover parking was free. I walked to the beauty bar and once there I knocked on the door and was let in by my technician Alex. The spot is aesthetically delightful to the eye and impeccably clean. The technician introduced herself to me and informed me of the length of the procedure and suggested bathroom use to be on the safe side. Me and my non existent bladder were happy about that suggestion lol. I was then led back to the main area where there are two beds and was directed to lay in on of them. Alex then went in to explain to me everything that was about to happen and paused for questions every few moments. Her voice is very soothing with a calming quality to her cadence, putting me at ease immediately. One thing I did not know would be a factor is my daily cups of coffee! It makes it difficult for the tech to work when the client has jittery eyes lol. I apologize for that and will remember this detail for next time for sure. The Lash Lift was part of their April Promo and it came with a brow wax which was a very pleasant surprise because I have no clue what to do with my brows lol. The salon is filled with female empowering music and I was soaking it all in truly feeling pampered. This for me was such a treat because I rarely take the time to do things to pamper and treat myself with. The quarantine took its toll on me and I began to search for something to treat myself with as a bit of a reward. In more recent years I put myself on a weight loss journey that was very positive for my health and self esteem but very negative in a few of the aspects of it no one ever tells when you lose 70+ pounds lol. Hair loss and thinning is one of the things. Where I once had decently full lashes had become something I can barley see on my face when I look in the mirror. I have tried lash extensions and while those are fantastic, the after effects are less than desirable. My lashes would cease to grow and they took on a short and stunted appearance which I hate. I had begun to search for something that was an alternative to lash extensions and came across lash lifting. I then searched for a place near me and when I came a cross the Cielo Beauty Bar I decided to take the opportunity to try something new. I am very happy with the results, yes they are still short and very light but now there's a curl to them that I am very pleased with. I am looking forward to seeing how they look with mascara on and newly waxed and bartered brows to match. I highly recommend Alex. She has a wonderful way about her and warming aura. She is clear and talented and she is very good about explaining everything that is going to happen every step of the way. I even scheduled my next appointment upon leaving. As previously mentioned, the location was spotless. Very clean and every one was masked up. At the time of my appointment the technician Alex and myself were the only two there.
