We started out with positive hopes with CID for our girls shared bath remodel and ended up with complete frustration and disappointment in the execution of the job! We are not novices in home reconstruction as we have done jobs in the past in 3 different homes and this left us feeling "taken" in so many ways. First, it is was not a full bath...but, took almost 6 weeks to complete. The project manager Tony jumped into demo and then left for more than a week leaving the workers to do what they could without proper supervision! Friendly as they all were...they needed supervison. They set the tile before knowing that the pipes were in the right position requiring unnecessary opening of the wall in a separate room...during which they told me they broke a valve and I would have to go pick up another! The tile setter was not experienced enough and broke so many tiles that we were required to order MORE tile on two separate occasions..which again they expected me to pick up. The frameless glass panels when measured was wrong and had to wait a week for the re-order of glass. When hanging the shower door... it took 3 attempts spread over almost 2 week span to get it right!!! Once they hung the door...we THOUGHT we could finally use the bath and we turn on the water to find that the handle FELL off and was not attatched correctly and had to use pliers to turn THE WATER OFF! It was Friday so they Would not send anyone to come FIX it until the next Monday! Wow...it was a slow and painful job...not to mention all the times they were supposed to show up... holding us hostage to the house and then not arriving for hours later...I guess par for the course on many contractors. When final payment was asked for...NO COMPENSATION offered for all the headache!!! My husband paid in full just to get them out and be done. My wife has extreme attention to detail, and they were extremely patient with us regarding the entire project, and the work came out great, very clean job on tiles, vanity and bathtub. Ron gave great advice on things from what kind of bathtub to get and the shower fixtures too. Filly, his foreman, has a great eye and they were overall very friendly to deal with. Even though it was a pain in the butt, they also retrofitted some IKEA wardrobe doors for our custom closet. They are also reasonable in terms of cost. Great Company. Im very very happy with the job. I had been looking for a company to replace my roof. I had wood shakes and the insurance company would not cover me anymore. So I called a bunch of companies and they came out and gave me an estimate. I found CID's add in a home magazine and gave them a call. Ron (the owner) came out the next day and looked at the roof and gave an estimate. He was very honest and straight up. Other roofers had told me that i needed bunch of other stuff but he said why you wanna waist your money. He showed me exactly what materials they were going to use which i looked it up online and was the best on the market. His estimate was far less than the other guys. I signed the contract and gave him a deposit and explained to him that i didn't have the money at the time but i would have it in a month. He said no problem and give me a check for next month. The following monday his crew came and started. They covered up the inside my garage with plastic to avoid any damage to my stuff. They ripped off my roof and installed plywood. As you can imagine around the house was a huge mess. But at the end of each day they cleaned everything up. They picked up all the big stuff, and then walked around the house with a magnet to pick up all the nails, and at the end they used a leaf blower to clean up all the dust. It was amazing how fast the place went back to normal. They even took their time to clean up in between the plants. Anyways it took them only 4 days to install my brand new roof. They painted everything and cleaned up the whole house again the last day and you couldn't even tell that i had just replaced my roof. The roof looks great. I've been getting complements from my neighbors. The city inspector came twice and both times he was happy with the job. Overall outstanding company. I will def recommend them to everybody. Going with CID Builders was a great decision My wife and I recently underwent a huge kitchen transformation. The job entailed walls being knocked down, ceilings being reshaped, new plumbing etc... Lets start with the interview process. I feel we interviewed a good amount of contractors in our area, 5 i think... We decided to talk to a variety from independent builder/owners, design firms, large corporate firms etc... Calling each was a trip within itself. Sometimes we talked to a receptionist that continued to mispronounce our names and even got dates for meetings wrong. When we called Ron with CID he (the owner) answered...FIRST PLUS. Most of the contractors, or assistants, that came to our house to give us a bid would either agree to all of our requests saying, "NO PROBLEM" yes we can knock down this wall and not worry about support. And some of them kept telling me how they wanted to model our kitchen, not listening to our dream... Ron was a very NO BULLSHIT kind of guy. He told us we could knock down walls but be prepared that there may be support beams we would have to leave. It was his realistic expectations mixed with him willing to work with our vision in a very realistic budget was the reason we chose to work with him. The first day we talked through the design and financing portion. Since this was our first time on such a big project, we had no idea how much it would cost. We had saved an amount we thought would be more than enough and presented with a budget we weren't expecting. This was the case with all of the bids we received, not just CID's. They were all within a thousand or 2 of each other. We almost had to push the project another 6-9 months, but Ron worked closely with the bank to get us approved in terms that worked for us. This was the 2nd reason we chose to work with him. Demolition was very quick and clean. His expert team all were very nice and we got to know a lot of them on a first name basis. They made sure to drape plastic every day, sweep up at the end of every day and made sure our house was livable despite not having kitchen services. We ran into some of those support beam issues we mentioned above. Ron came up with a solution, we redesigned the look while working with Ron came up with a suitable layout that worked for both of us last minute. This change actually now is the focal more interesting part of our kitchen and are THOROUGHLY pleased with this change. The only issue we really ran into was it took a couple of days for us and CID to come up with a routine and a rhythm with communication and scheduling. But once we established that we were off to the races. And if I were to have changed the process in anyway is to find a way not to choose paint colors without having tile / backsplash / counter samples to look at against. It all turned out beautifully in the end, but I would have chosen differently if we had samples to compare against. The project took a little longer than I expected but was within the time frame that Ron promised us. We could've had it done quicker but we wanted to take our times with it and make sure both us and CID were comfortable and not rushed. The final product really reflects this. There was much love and craftsmanship put into the finishing details. Ron was on site almost every day. If it wasn't him, then his foreman Feli was. He was equally as professional and committed as Ron was. Ron saw every step all the way through and ensured no detail was over looked. There was even a few details we asked for at the beginning of the project that we failed to remind him of that made its way into the final product. We were really happy to see this. There were a couple of small issues and things that needed to be addressed after the project ended, but Ron was there. He popped in to make sure all was still good. He does this because the house needs a chance to settle in a bit. He addressed them no problem. OVERALL EXCEPTIONAL JOB by Ron and his team at CID builders. We're very happy with the pool that CID Builders built for us last summer. They gave a good price compared to the other builders we got quotes from, and started the work in a matter of weeks. The crew was very polite and worked very hard and efficient -- during Valley summer heat. They did a great job and even put in an extra brick wall (/"flowerbed" - which looks very nice) w/drains between the property fence and pool, in order to avoid drainage from higher neighbor property into pool. Although not part of project, it was basically a couple days worth of work at no extra cost to us. Oren was great to work with as project manager; often on-site and checking the work, and always available to stop by to answer questions etc. They handle all the paperwork/permits and work with city inspectors re. questions. We've had the pool for 4 months now and only had a minor issue; pieces of the grout between tiles and decking started coming off as the pool settled in the ground. We were in a "had to" situation and needed our roof redone quickly, before Christmas. We contacted CID Builders for a bid and they sent Tony Abrahamson out to speak with us, on the spot we decided on CID because they could do it quickly. Turns out it was our best choice, they were great! They found 32 holes in our roof and since this was a new purchase we had to fix them and immediately. Luis and his crew went above and beyond just replacing the shingles, he repaired and replaced a section of wood that was rotten that he didn't have to, just being professional. I have never written a negative review on Yelp but had to share my experience with this company. We are starting our research and plans for a pool installation. I called CID and requested someone to come out for an estimate. The date was set and then last minute my appointment was canceled. Totally fine, things come up. A man by the name of Hector called to reschedule my appointment and was very apologetic for canceling so late. He offered to have "the owner" come out and also "offer a discount" for the inconvenience. I accepted his offer and appreciated his customer service. The night of my estimate, I had an appointment run late. My husband was home so he met with the person who came out. My husband said everything went great and they seemed like a contender. I asked if there was an estimate left or if one was being sent. He sad no. I figured I would just follow up in the morning. That night I had a message on my phone from this company requesting I call them back. The day after the estimate a very rude man called me, furious. He said that he was the owner and he had sent one of the co-owners to my home for the estimate. He began to question why I was not home and where I was. I was so baffled. Why should I have to explain myself to this intrusive person? I didn't understand the issue. The gentleman who came met with my husband. I was told that "that was not good enough and YOU should've been home!" I apologized for my appt going late but he was not accepting it. I asked him if they provide a paper/emailed estimate for the job and his response was "Oh, NOW you want a paper estimate?" Is this wrong of me to ask? The whole conversation was just so bizarre. I told him that I was not liking the direction and tone the conversation was taking and we would not be considering his company for our installation. He seemed taken aback. Needless to say I hung up. My only positive experience with this company was with Hector....thus giving HIM the one and only star. I was so excited to possibly use this company with all of the amazing reviews. My wife and I planned on renovating our kitchen and bath in our new home. We met with 3 general contractors before we met with CID Builders. They all seemed disinterested in my ideas and made lame attempts to beef up my projects and get deeper into my pockets. One contractor disregarded my initial plans and wanted to knock down exterior walls. Another wanted to charge me $7,000 for blue prints. Knowing that I had appointments for additional estimates, some were reluctant to leave without having me sign a contract. The last guy told me that the estimate was only good while he was there. Otherwise, it was null once he walked out the door. I shouted a few expletives and pointed to the exit. He picked up his briefcase (which was obviously empty and just for show) and left my house... leaving behind the smell of cheap cologne and hot dog water. It all seemed hopeless. Then I met Mr.Oren Amar from CID. Talking to him was like a breath of fresh air. He listened to my plans and didn't force any of his "creative ideas" on me. No phony briefcase and no $7,000 blue prints. This was a man that saw my vision and wanted nothing more than to appease my wife and I. Throughout the project Oren kept me posted. Everyday he would let me know what time his crew would be there and what they would work on. His workers knew exactly what to do without involving me. At the end of the day, Oren would call to make sure I was happy with the days work. His crew worked fast, they were neat and always cleaned up before quitting time. We interviewed about 8 contractors to do a room extension, back pergola, front patio and give our house a fresh coat of paint. After speaking with Ben from CID Builders we knew straight away this is who we wanted to work with. Unlike the others, Ben was able to give us an estimate on the spot (it did not differ significantly from the actual price), he suggested modifications to our needs based on local building code, he didn't try to push something completely different from what we wanted, and he and our dogs got along immediately. CID Builders took care of all the plans and engineering, and submission of these details to the relevant authorities for approval. Throughout the renovations, all relevant aspects were inspected and approved immediately by the relevant city inspectors (no modifications to the work were needed to bring it up to code).
