This branch is on the north side of highway 7, west of Eureka Street, which is a block away from Main Street in Unionville. This bank is across the street from Papa John's and next door to Volvo. There is a small parking lot behind the building on Eureka Street. It's a one-way flow to drive into the parking lot. Similarly, there's only one way to exit it. The main entrance is also facing this street. This branch is quaint. It has a couple of ATMs when you walk in. There are teller services, but you may want to book an appointment for more lengthy, complex service help. This branch is closed on Sundays. Otherwise, it's open at 9:30 am. It closes at 5 pm every day, except for Saturday when closing time is 4 pm. The hours are decent. It explains why it does get busy. I've only used the ATM here. I had no issues. It was clean and the ATMs were operational. The good news is that there are no steps to take to access the building. It's an even surface from the parking lot to the main entrance. However, this branch is not as busy as the one down by Highway 7. The setup is a little awkward, as you don't see the teller desks immediately upon entering. However, they are to your right, and the tellers are very approaching in greeting you. Out of all the HSBCs I've been to in Richmond Hill and Markham, I found this branch has the best teller service. For what it's worth, I would definitely use this branch more often if I'm in the area and need to use their services. For those who live in Richmond Hill but can't stand how crowded the one on Highway 7 is, definitely consider this branch; it's only a 10 minute drive up Bayview!

The lone ATM by the mall entrance used to be branded as HSBC. RBC acquired HSBC last year. Seeing the rebranding has taken its sweet time at all locations, including here. The reason why the ATM has its own housing or building is cool. When the mall is closed, you can still do banking at this ATM. It is open at all times. When the weather is bad, such as the snow flurries that occurred in Markham last night, you can use the ATM in a warmer, drier environment. The main branch is across from this ATM. It occupies the space that used to be a discount housewares store. I don't think that HSBC was established at this mall. RBC built this branch from scratch. I like the wood floor. It looks nice and it's less maintenance than having carpeting. This branch only has one ATM. It makes sense, as this mall has a grand total of two RBC ATMs. My only concern is that teller services are at the very back of the branch. For those who have mobility issues and need a human to help with specific banking services, I would think that the distance is unnecessarily long for them to get there. This branch is probably the second-closest one from my home. RBC is no longer my main bank these days, but it's nice knowing that I can do my occasional banking here. (23)

I parked in the lot that faces Denison Street, between the branch and Tiny Tom Donuts. It's always deadly parking next to a donut store! I walked over to the main entrance and realized that it's just for branch services. They were closed on Saturday. I walked around to figure out where the ABMs were. From simply walking around the branch's exterior, this branch is huge! Finally, I found the other entrance to both the ABMs and main branch. I walked in and three ABMs greeted me. The lobby is exceptionally clean. Spotless! There was also a garbage bin. Nice! I got my money out of the ABM just fine. This branch has the new machines where you don't need envelopes to make deposits. Additionally, more of these machines are dispensing $5 bills. It's a nice throwback to when I banked with Royal Bank and smaller bill denominations were dispensed. I like it! There is plenty of parking. It was nice to finally stop by and check this branch out. This is a real nice corner branch even though it doesn't have a drive thru banking service. There's a sitting area in front of the main entrance, parking for bicycles, and plenty of spaces for vehicle parking. Four Green Machines inside the branch can be accessed 24-7. For whatever reason, I was unable to deposit the cheque because the Green Machine kept rejecting the cheque scan/recognition. Plan B was to line up and make a Customer Representative counter transaction. This experience was very quick, efficient, friendly and courteous. Excellent! The decor was very pleasing and modern.

The service at this branch is downright awful. Several of the people at the counters should go for…read moremore training, or at the very least try to be more likable. This is especially true of the business counter. Basic, run-of-the-mill things like opening an LOC or a registered account becomes an epic exercise in frustration, requiring frequent calls or visits to the bank to fix mistakes. I only use this branch in emergencies now, even though it's the one closest to me. I prefer to drive a bit further to another branch to spare myself the hassle.
