We joined the very long queue to get this sorted out. The line was practically out the door at this point and moving extremely slowly. I didn't keep track of how long we waited, but with only three tellers working and one in training, it was a long and boring wait. The fact that the bank was closed the previous day could've added to how many people needed to see a teller. When we asked about why we were given only $5 bills when $20 bills were requested, we were told the machine must've run out of $20 bills. If that's the case, the machine should be able to register this and not have this option available.

The front desk staff and greeters are very friendly, courteous and professional - while waiting in line; I overheard their interactions with customers, both in person and over the phone. What impressed me the most was after my transaction, I asked the client service representative if I could speak to the branch manager. She did not hesitate or even ask why! A few minutes later, I met with Rose Figliuzzi. I explained that I have been with TD bank for many years, and I was very impressed with the staff. Rose took the time to speak with me, and appreciated my comments. I always enjoy visiting this branch.

I usually go to the closest to but was having so much difficulty in getting any assistance that I stopped in the branch at Hwy 7 & Warden and spoke to Coral Liu and my faith with having great customer service was restored. Coral took the time to talk to me and answer all my questions and said she would even follow up and get back to me. I would highly recommend Coral to anyone looking to need some financial advise.

It's on the northeast corner of Highway 7 and Warden Avenue, next to Booster Juice. It's cool that Markham Town Centre has two drive-thrus. The other one is McDonald's. Tonight, I needed to deposit some money. I hit the drive-thru. The option to withdraw money wasn't available. However, depositing money was there. Yay! I like that the ABM is able to detect how much money I want to deposit. It was correct and straightforward. I have only been in the branch to use the ABM once. The ABM area was clean and bright. My experience was great. It was before the pandemic. It's a decent branch to either deposit or withdraw money through an ABM. If you like drive-thrus, try the one here. (15)

I bought a $47,000 bank wire to send to a well respected & very conservative exchange. Within 1/2 hr on the way home I got a call from TD's wire fraud dept and the woman; Melissa, wanted to know asked me extremely invasive questions that had nothing to do with my wire transfer. She said if I didn't answer she would cancel the wire. I told her I knew the risks of crypto and I'm an adult, I've been studying it for over 2 years and I have a friend who shares info with me. That egomaniac decided it was too much risk for me (my money) and SHE CANCELLED THE WIRE TRANSFER! I was livid! My money was not returned for 24 hrs. I then called that dept & spoke to someone else who said she would have no issues with me buying crypto so she put a note on my account and told me to just buy another wire & if it gets flagged they'll see her note. I did that the next day. Another jerk from the same dept who called himself Allan called me & he was excessively rude. He demanded to know my friend's home address (the one who I speak to about BTC). I said he's a business friend I only know his work address, hello. I'm married! He said he didn't think I knew enough about crypto so he cancelled my wire! I was seeing red at this point. I spent the next 3 hrs trying to get ahold of a supervisor or manager. Nothing. The bank manger at TD on Woodbine & 16th, Peggy was USELESS and RUDE. She was having a hen party in her office that she called a 'meeting'. How many meetings are there where you sit around with the door open laughing? I waited over 1 1/2 hrs for this manager who clearly lacks customer support skills. In order for me to drain my account of all monies to close it, I was FORCED to wait 5 BUSINESS DAYS EXCLUDING WEEKNEDS in order to get back my initial $40,000 bank draft. My account has been marked as FRAUDULENT. Because why? I wanted to use MY MONEY to send to an exchange to buy Bitcoin. The bank refused to let me send my money where I wanted despite my telling them I was cognizant of the risks. The other day I got a call from TD bank. Wire Fraud. She said the call was being recorded for training purposes and I said I did not agree to help them with training. What is the call about? She kept talking over me and refused to answer then hung up on me. This IS THE WORST BANK EVER TO DEAL WITH. NEVER, EVER AGAIN! I'm a senior and I know how to spend my own damn money. I don't need some stranger who knows nothing about my financials to tell me where I can spend my money. NEVER AGAIN!!! TD BANK DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO SEND BANK WIRES TO ANY EXCHANGE TO BUY CRYPTO. Thanks to this mentally challenged bank I lost out on buying BTC when it was below $60,000 USD per coin. I also lost out on the halving. I'm so glad TD Bank is at the bottom of the totem pole because when the dollar collapses, TD will be one of the first to fail. Yay! I will be happy those wire fraud power trippers are going to lose their jobs.

If you're smart or actually from Canada, I highly recommend to NOT bank with HSBC. I would rather…read moretake a fork through the eye, no lie. There are probably 10 people working at one time and not one is competent. The thing is, they are all nice and can speak both Chinese and English pretty well BUT they have to follow their insane policies, which is completely not their fault. The bank policies they have are insane and they run on some other kind of policy - nothing similar to actual Canadian banks. Long story short - my mom had written me a cheque and my bank sent me a form to bring to HSBC to just verify that the money had indeed came from my mom's account. It was a formality really and seemed simple enough. I drove here on my lunch to try to get this done. First of all. The premier AND the regular line had the same amount of people and moved at the absolute same speed.... so why are they trying so hard to push their premier accounts saying that they'll prioritize you and you get special treatment? I call BS. Anyway I went up to the lady and explained the situation ^ she pulled up my mom's account and saw that it did come out her account, just a few days ago. I say "great, can you sign this form from CIBC that just proves a HSBC rep has verified it?" She immediately denies my request and says she cannot sign any paper that did not originate or been produced by HSBC themself..... apparently it's a policy. So I ask her if she can write down one sentence with her own paper then on a HSBC letterhead and then sign that. She also denies that. My mother is angry at this point and says you can do this at any other bank and all we needed was a signature to prove that the money did come from her account. We weren't trying to take anything in or out. My mom even wanted to cancel the cheque, transfer the money to another bank like BMO and then transfer it to me from there and have them sign instead. The teller then told me if I wanted to get anything done, I'd have to have a meeting with my mom's bank relationship manager???? To get a damn signature that doesn't require any work on their end?? And the manager was in another meeting.... ????? At this point I don't know what to do so I call CIBC saying that HSBC is bullshit and their policy is as well. They are hearing my call and call the manager over. I guess my call combined with my mom's frustration got an exception because the manager rushed over to do it, but not without complaining and saying that it was a special exception. On the drive home, my mom got a call and it was the manager asking why we needed it and she wasn't reading the docs when she signed it. What kind of people do you hire here?? And what kind of policies do you have in place? This is the most mess of a bank I've ever witnessed and I am so thankful we have other banks here to use rather than this scheming, for sure money laundering hell hole.

I guess people don't normally rate banks? I'll be the first one then…read more Recently with the hour changes across all HSBC branches (in Markham at least), this location is the only one that opens on Saturday. The result? Long lineups for teller services, especially during Saturday mornings. You would think they'd have at least 4-5 tellers, but I've never seen more than 3 (usually 2) on Saturdays. However, this place deserves an extra star for having a lineup dedicated to HSBC Premier cardholders. The line for them is usually not more than 2-3 people, sometimes even none! I feel bad for the regular lineup, but hey it's offered so take advantage of it. This is my usual HSBC branch for the past 4-5 years, to the point most of the employees know me, so I won't comment on the service as it'd be a bit biased.

I had the most unfortunate experience at this CIBC branch. Specifically with a teller employee named Christy on Saturday Oct 5th at around 12 in the afternoon. I had taken my grandmother here for a simple withdraw and she was rudely spoken to by Christy. Christy was very unprofessional, condescending and unpleasant to be helped. Even as I stepped in to assist my grandmother, Christy was still very rude. It's not uncommon knowledge that elderly people may have difficulty hearing or understanding, but Christy still put up an impatient and rude service. Her Cantonese speaking "skill" was definitely put to use, but with a very condescending tone. Just because they are elderly, doesn't mean they can't pick up on attitude and rudeness. When confronted after, Christy was defensive and did not even offer a sincere apology. Neither did her manager who decided to stay back and oversea the transaction. Both Christy and her manager were very rude, condescending, unprofessional and extremely unpleasant. If CIBC would like to contact me further about this interaction, feel free to. I will be filing a formal complaint on Christy and this branch.
